WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW RESULTS (05/24/2021)

Pre-Show Opening

To officially kick-off the Monday, May 24, 2021 edition of WWE Monday Night RAW, the clock chimes 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time as the “WWE. Then… Now… ALWAYS.” (which replaces the “Then. Now. FOREVER” that aired regularly prior to WWE Wrestlemania 37) where fans once again were able to attend the LIVE taping after over a year of mainly closed set tapings.

Announcer’s Table

As we enter the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida, we head to the announcer’s table set up at ringside as Adnan Virk welcomes us to the Monday, May 24, 2021 edition of WWE Monday Night RAW. Virk is joined at ringside by fellow commentary teammates Corey Graves and Byron Saxton. They hype tonight’s show before we head to the ring to kick off the first official match-up of the evening.

In-Ring – MVP

As we head to the ring inside the Yuengling Center in Tampa, FL, we see The Hurt Business’s main spokesperson, MVP, standing in the center of the ring with a microphone in hand. MVP starts by saying, “WWE Universe it is my honor to present to you, the chief hurt officer, my business associate, the almighty WWE Champion… Bobby Lashley!”

WWE Champion Bobby Lashley Joins

The entrance theme sounds for the current reigning WWE Champion as we see the Hurt Business member, the All Mighty, Bobby Lashley make his way to the stage surrounded by a gaggle of women. Lashley wearing what I’m sure is an expensive suit, his WWE Championship belt wrapped around his waist and sunglasses in what I now assume is a very bright Yuengling Center arena. Lashley then makes his way down the ramp, stopping at ringside to assist the women up the steel stairs and into the ring before Lashley enters the ring himself.

As Lashley enters the ring with MVP and the five models he just assisted into the ring, Adnan Virk sends us into a video package from “Last Week’s RAW” which highlights Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre’s back and forth in last week’s opening segment for WWE Monday Night RAW. Next we see the Non-Title Open Challenge Match with The New Day’s Kofi Kingston that he lost.

Back Inside The Ring

As we return from the video package, the models in the ring are booing the video package that just ended, which “forces” MVP to “calm” the women down inside the ring before MVP turns back to the microphone. At this point MVP asks the WWE Universe to give Bobby Lashley a round of applause! MVP then continues on to brag about how great things are right now, except for the “dark cloud” hanging over The Hurt Business, which goes by the name of Drew McIntyre. The fans pop at the mere mention of McIntyre’s name.

This leads Lashley to take his turn speaking to the WWE Universe as he discusses his win over Drew McIntyre at WWE WrestleMania 37 in their pay-per-view match (Triple Threat w/ Braun Strowman). Lashley notes that he doesn’t want to hear McIntyre’s name again, to which MVP interrupts and states they tried to move on from Drew McIntyre by issuing the Open Challenge last week and Kofi Kingston thought he was worthy, but the dark cloud (Drew McIntyre) – just had to show up again.

Drew McIntyre Interrupts

On that note, Drew McIntyre’s entrance theme sounds and we see McIntyre make his way out to the stage. The crowd pops! McIntyre has a microphone in hand as he states that his business is getting back the WWE Title. McIntyre continues on to say that he he would’ve won at WrestleMania if it weren’t for MVP, and would’ve won at Backlash if it weren’t for Braun. At this point McIntyre announces that he wants his one-on-one title shot and deep down he thinks Lashley wants the match also, to prove to himself once and for all that he is the #1 Superstar on RAW.

Now inside the ring, McIntyre adds that he could be wrong… but just maybe, deep down Lashley knows he doesn’t measure up to McIntyre and doesn’t have the balls. Drew then turns and asks the models if Lashley has the balls. At this point Drew McIntyre brings up the loss to Kofi Kingston last week. To that, Bobby Lashley argues about the match and they have words.

The New Day Interrupts

At this point the entrance theme sounds for The New Day as Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods make their way out to the stage to interrupt McIntyre, Lashley, and MVP inside the ring. Kingston starts off by stating that both sides are making “good points” but then Kingston continues on to state that HE was the one who pinned the WWE Champion Bobby Lashley last week on WWE Monday Night RAW. McIntyre quickly follows up with a response of “You’re welcome” You can see that this annoys Kingston as he adds he did not ASK for any help during his match last week.

Kingston goes on to say that he never got a rematch for the WWE Championship from a few years ago.

WWE Official Adam Pearce Joins

To that, we hear the entrance theme for WWE Official Adam Pearce as he makes his way out to the stage. Pearce tells Kingston that he can go head-to-head with Drew McIntyre tonight and the winner will then become the #1 Contender for the WWE Championship and go against Bobby Lashley at the upcoming WWE Hell In A Cell pay-per-view event! On that note we head to commercial break!

Kingston attempts to fight back but constantly gets cut off and thrown around.

Finally Kingston is able to successfully land a Dropkick followed by a Russian Leg Sweep to McIntyre that he ends with a Rope-Assisted Splash for the cover on McIntyre. Kingston then jumps from the steel stairs onto McIntyre, but McIntyre catches Kingston and delivers an Alabama Slam into the apron as we head into the next commercial break of the evening!

Drew hits a stalling suplex for two, then goes to a submission. Kingston fights back and goes to a guillotine but Drew counters with a suplex.
