WWE Monday Night RAW Results (12/14/20)
Show Opening
WWE “Then, Now, Forever…” airs sending us into the entrance theme song for WWE Monday Night RAW.
We enter the WWE ThunderDome at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, FL for the first time EVER! to open WWE Monday Night RAW!! Commentary notes this Sunday gives the run down for tonight’s show including WWE Championship Ascension Ceremony with Drew McIntyre and AJ Styles sharing the same ring, also Sheamus vs. AJ Styles is set for later tonight, finally, it is announced we are invited to Bray Wyatt’s Field Trip to the ThunderDome!
The Nightmare Before TLC
We are welcomed to “The Dirt Sheet” with Mr. Money in the Bank, The Miz. Miz welcomes everyone to tonight’s reading of “The Nightmare Before TLC” as he sits in front of a ladder, holding the storybook in his hands as a spotlight shines on only Miz and the ladder. This week, Miz and Mrs. at 10:30/9:30C is the last new episode of his reality series for the 2020 year.
Miz continues by stating he gives the audience what they want, and he knows they want to hear the Nightmare Before TLC story. He begins to read and spotlights light up with the characters in the story. Miz narrates the story of the match, which of course is Styles kicking McIntyre’s ass and… murdering him with his sword (very overdramatically) He adds his own scenario, wherein he successfully cashes Money in the Bank in, at the end, as a “post-credits scene.” AJ doesn’t like this, and they bicker. As Miz mentions AJ Styles, he appears inside the ring and reminds Miz of his larger than life friend, Omos. As Miz mentions Drew McIntyre and a snap of his fingers, we see John Morrison dressed up like Mel Gibson in Braveheart with a very stressed accent.
Styles states it’s not the book he gave The Miz. Miz said he made some changes for time and to make it more interesting.
Sheamus Enters
Sheamus’s music sounds as he points out he thought he had seen everything in the WWE, but this was a new one for him. He continues down the ramp as he mocks Miz, Styles, and Morrison for their playing with swords and other props. He says this community theater was slightly entertaining but he has a match against Styles, and while they’ve been running their mouths, he’s been preparing to fight. Styles says if Sheamus isn’t going to be a part of the solution, then… Sheamus says he wants to be a part of the problem. Sheamus continues to back Styles into the corner until Styles grabs the prop Christmas Tree and throws it at Sheamus as he quickly exits the ring.
Styles says they have a match later, it doesn’t have to be “right now” or anything” and stays laid at ringside next to Omos. Sheamus throws a present at Styles as we head to our first commercial break of the evening.
AJ Styles vs. Sheamus
As we return from the first commercial break of the evening, the referee signals for the bell and our first match of the evening is officially underway! We see that Sheamus is in control early, beating Styles down, AJ turns the tide and hammers him right back with Shoulder Thrusts in the corner. Whip reversed, Styles takes the turnbuckles hard and the Celtic Warrior stares Big Buddy Omos down. Snapmare, kick to the back, choking AJ with a knee before dropping the knee to his jaw!
Uppercuts in the corner, Styles fires back with leg kicks, Uppercut, Whip Reversed, up and over, Sheamus drops him with a Back Body Drop! Kneeling Armbar, grinding him down, but AJ slips him loose and throws him to the floor! Referee John Cone counting, Sheamus back up on the apron at three, Styles hammering him with knees, punches and chops… Oh my!
Next we see a Huge Release Suplex, followed by yet another one, then Styles blocks with a Throat Thrust and a Dropkick that sends Sheamus out to the floor next to Omos! Sidestep the Dive, electric chair but AJ’s hanging in the ropes so the Celtic Warrior changes gears and goes for a Powerbomb, Omos for the save! We see the big men square up and we go to break!
Styles is wrenching away at Sheamus’ leg, trying to soften him up for the Calf Killer. Overhead elbows to break, AJ stays on him but the Celtic Warrior gets his licks in to and keep it from becoming a rout, culminating with the Irish Curse! Exploding with Axehandles, a Fall-away Slam throws Styles across the ring!
Hobbling, AJ gets the boot up but Sheamus hammers him with a knee strike for two! Again the Celtic Warrior ends up in front of Omos but he stays on target and traps Styles on the apron for the Beats of the Bodhran! Up top, perching, diving lariat lays AJ out but it’s only good for a near fall! Fireman’s carry, Styles out with elbows and he locks the Calf Killer on!
Sheamus in screaming agony, posting onto his hands to try and relieve the pressure… and he gets the ropes! Calling for the Styles Clash, Sheamus reverses to White Noise, for the cover. To no avail! The match continues on with a Fireman’s carry, climbing, his leg giving him problems and AJ slips out and Chop Blocks him and gets a Folding Press for the three count pin and win!
Winner: AJ Styles
After the Match
Commentary notes that AJ Styles has bragging rights going into the TLC pay-per-view with this victory, as we head into a video replay highlighting the high points from the match.
Styles says, “That’s how it’s done!” Styles continues to trash talk as he walks back towards the ring. Sheamus grabs Styles by the hair, Omos quickly defends his boss, and pulls Sheamus through the ropes, his leg getting caught up in the ropes. Styles grabs a chair and continuously beats Sheamus with the steel chair. Sheamus is hanging upside down. A referee requests that Styles “go to the back” as his music sounds once again.
Styles grabs the chair and AGAIN attacks Sheamus with the steel chair as the crowd “boo’s”. Styles says, “You can talk to your friend about it in the hospital when y’all are there together… if you know what I mean!” Omos lifts his hand for a high-five.

Ascension Ceremony
As we return from the commercial break, we are informed by Tom Phillips that it is finally time for the Ascension Ceremony. Tom hypes AJ Styles vs. WWE Champion Drew McIntyre at TLC, and says they will join him to raise the title belt above the ring here soon. Out first to the sound of his music is the Phenomenal AJ Styles as his pyro hits and out comes AJ with Omos.
Out next comes the WWE Champion, Drew McIntyre. He carries the sword again and makes the pyro go off. Tom says they will have a chance to address each other after the title is raised. AJ reminds us that he and Drew have never faced, so he figured he should do a deep dive into who Drew is. AJ says he was shocked to find out it took Drew 19 years to climb the WWE mountain and become champion. AJ asks how is that possible.
AJ taunts Drew over his recent loss to Randy Orton and says yeah he beat Orton to get the title back, but it changed him. AJ goes on about Drew taking risks. AJ brags about defending the WWE Title in a TLC match once, and says he knows what it means to be a champion. AJ says if he has to take every table, ladder and chair in the ThunderDome and break them over Drew’s back to get the title back, he will do just that. He tells Drew to kiss the title goodbye because it’s going to look phenomenal around his waist. Fans boo.
Drew says that was a nice little speech but he’s going to present the facts as he sees them. He says he’s always wanted this match. Drew admits he’s never been in a TLC match while AJ has had some success in them. Drew goes on and says he was the champion that held WWE all year through the uncertainty, he’s the champion that does not crack under pressure, the champion that’s going to tear AJ apart this Sunday. My goal wasn’t to become the WWE Champion, my goal was to maintain the WWE Championship. “I’m going to tell you who I am. I’m the champion that does not crack under pressure. I’m a freakin’ diamond. That journey you talked about, that made me this way. And buddy, I’m the champion that is gonna tear you apart. I got a quote for ya. Hopefully you can read between the lines,” McIntyre holds up his three fingers and smiles adding, “See what I did there?”
McIntyre then continues with his quote, “Every man dies, but not every man truly lives. This Sunday, I’m willing to do whatever it takes to myself, and I am sure as hell willing to do whatever it takes to you to remain WWE Champion. Do you follow me? I ask you, are you willing to do the same?”
On that note, McINtyre drops the mic, hanging his belt on the hook next to him. The belt begins being raised. McIntyre looks at Styles who says, “Sounds like you have it all together, right? So you are ready to take on AJ Styles in a TLC Match… good for you. But what if it isn’t just me you have to face in a TLC match?” Miz and Morrison sneak in the ring, pushing the ladder over on McIntyre and then pummeling McIntyre in the corner of the ring.
McIntyre back to his feet, attacking Styles first, then Miz with a Claymore, finally Morrison gets a Claymore through a ladder. Mcintyre stands tall inside the ring when suddenly Styles is back in the ring. Omos assists Styles. Phenomenal Forearm by AJ Styles off the top, following up with several strikes.
Omos brings a ladder to Styles who attacks McIntyre with it, then a chair, and finally a ladder. Styles grabs another ladder. AJ places Drew on top of the table, then starts climbing the ladder.
