WWE Monday Night Raw Results (12/7/2020)

The show immediately opens with the entire WWE Monday Night RAW roster standing at the top of the stage with their hands clasped in front of them, shoulder to shoulder as we head to the announcer’s table at ringside. Byron Saxton, Samoa Joe, and Tom Phillips all stand side by side in the same manor “This past week we lost a cherished member of the WWE family, Hall of Famer, Pat Patterson,” Phillips begins. Phillips then continues, “Tonight we pay honors to the man that had unbridled passion and brought us immense joy, and was a mentor to so many of us.

Please join us in a moment of silence… followed by the traditional ten bell salute. *Bell begins to chime* We pan across the Monday Night RAW roster at the top of the stage once again as the bell continues. The bell chimes for the tenth time and we head into the RAW opening sequence!

The “WWE Forever” logo appears which leads into the opening sequence for WWE Monday Night RAW as “The Search” by NF begins playing and we see a highlight of current RAW Superstars. We then enter the ThunderDome LIVE as we hear the crowd cheer from their screens in the audience!

3-On-2 Handicap Match with The Miz & John Morrison & AJ Styles vs. Drew McIntyre & Sheamus will take place LIVE later tonight, on RAW!

In-Ring – Randy Orton

“I hear voices in my head…” the entrance theme for the A-pex Predator blares through the speakers as Randy Orton makes his way to the stage and the crowd “Boo’s!” immediately as the commentary team notes that Orton has invited himself to the Firefly Fun House after what happened on “A Moment of Bliss” last week where Orton was a guest.

We head into a video clip showing Orton as the guest on “A Moment of Bliss” last week where Orton says he knows Wyatt very well, but he hasn’t been formally introduced to “The Fiend”. Orton then compares and contrasts the similarities and differences between himself and The Fiend. Orton then shares the story of how he burned Bray Wyatt’s weakness to the ground. He then adds he has found The Fiend’s new weakness. Bliss asks if that’s what the voices in Orton’s head are telling him, adding, “Who’s manipulating who?” The lights go out, when they return and the red glare of lights shine on the ring, Orton is cradling Bliss in his arms and The Fiend stands up from a crouched position and walks over, nervously putting his arms out for Bliss, allowing Orton to make his escape. “Who’s laughing now?” Orton asks from the ramp.

We return to the ring where Orton begins, “Any ordinary man would tremble at the thought of facing The Fiend. But I am no ordinary man, I smashed my moral compass years ago.” Orton says he doesn’t need to wear a mask to let his darkness out or to let his darkness show. Orton adds when the time comes, he’s going to stare the devil right in the eyes and let him know the most evil son-of-a-bitch has returned home.

Orton then turns the attention to the Firefly Fun House, where he is going to knock on the door tonight, and he wants to know who is going to “Let… him… in.”

Bray Wyatt From The Firefly Fun House Interrupts

The Firefly Fun House theme song interrupts Orton as it sends us into the opening of the Fun House segment where Bray opens with, “Hi Randy Bo Bandy!” as he waves in a smiling and child-like manner. Bray Wyatt adds that Alexa Bliss would be there too, but after what Randy did to Bliss last week, he’ll have to accept “Little ol’ Bray”.

Orton points out he’s the last person Wyatt wants to play games with. Wyatt looks serious for a moment then asks if Orton just said GAME then goes to a “Let’s Get Randy” game show parody. The prizes are a brand new Crucix, the one we’ve seen Wyatt and Bliss use as of late, and the carcass of Friendship Frog. The contestants are Mercy The Buzzard, Ramblin’ Rabbit and Huskus The Pig. The question is how should Orton be punished at WWE TLC. They all get a chance to answer and Wyatt says none of his contestants are correct but fortunately for Orton, “He” always has the right answer. Wyatt changes his tune and we get flashes of The Fiend.

Orton says he will play games if Wyatt wants to, but he wants a match tonight. Not with The Fiend because he will see him at TLC… Orton wants to face Wyatt tonight. Wyatt accepts. The Fun House music starts back up as Wyatt waves goodbye to Orton. Orton looks on and smirks in the ring.

Quick Announcement

Back at the announcers table, Saxton, Joe, and Phillips hype Asuka vs. Shayna Baszler for tonight. We get a Progressive-sponsored video on recent happenings in the feud with Asuka and Lana vs. Baszler and Nia Jax. The two teams will meet at TLC and the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles will be on the line.

Asuka vs. Shayna Baszler

We head out to the ring, out comes WWE RAW Women’s Champion, Asuka. Lana is by Asuka’s side for this non-title match. Asuka hits the corner to pose and the pyro goes off as we head to commercial break!

As we return from the commercial break, Asuka goes for an ankle lock early. Shayna transitions into an Achilles Hold. Asuka counters with her own Achilles Hold. Shayna transitions into a Heel Hook, but Asuka sinks in a Knee Bar. Tons of technical skill here, as the two female superstars continue to grapple and attempt to get submissions on one another early on in the match!

At one point, Shayna lifts up Asuka, showing her power as she lands a Back Suplex, dropping Asuka hard as they both land inside the ring. Asuka heads to the outside of the ring, where Lana comforts her momentarily. The consoling is cut short as the two are attacked by both Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler at ringside. With that, we head to another commercial break.

We return to the ring following the commercial break and the match is still going live, as Baszler is targeting Asuka’s left arm. Asuka counters with a roll-up, but Shayna downs her with kicks. Shayna goes for another kick, but Asuka ducks and hits a release German Suplex. Face buster from Asuka. She goes for a hip attack in the corner but Shayna blocks. Flying Arm Bar by the RAW Women’s Champion, but Shayna counters into the Kirifuda Clutch.

Asuka fights out of Baszler’s attempt to submit her with the Karifuda Clutch. We take a look at what’s happening at ringside, where we see that Jax is currently beating the crap out of Lana. With all her might, Lana fights back, where she lands Jax into the steel steps and then the announce table after reversing a Power Bomb. Lana smiles with confidence as she sees what she accomplished! Shayna is stunned inside the ring at what she witnessed!

Shayna is distracted and dumbfounded at what Lana just accomplished on Shayna’s larger than life tag-team partner, following Lana’s pace inside the ring as she circles the ropes demanding Lana “get back here!”. Lana continues around ringside with a huge smile on her face as she catches her breath and stands on the ramp with Baszler still staring at her and shouting which then allows Asuka to roll up Shayna for the three count pin and win!

Winner: Asuka

After the Match

Baszler quickly gets back to her feet and hangs over the rope, stunned looking out at Asuka and Lana who are hugging and smiling on the ramp to celebrate Asuka’s victory (and Lana’s ability to assist!)

Quick Announcement

We head back to the announcer’s table where Saxton and Phillips discuss last week’s bout with a replay playing as they show Cedric Alexander pinning Xavier Woods last week. They then note that tonight, The Hurt Business’s Shelton Benjamin will take on The New Day’s Kofi Kingston.

Backstage – The Hurt Business

We head backstage after the announcement and video clip, where we just so happen to see members of The Hurt Business. MVP has a cocky look on his face as they all bully a staff member stating he’s going “the wrong way” because it was in their path.

Quick Announcement

As we head to commercial break, we are informed that we’ll get Drew McIntyre’s road to TLC when we return!

Video Package – TLC

We return from the break and we immediately head into a video package highlighting the TLC match between AJ Styles and WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, with potential involvement from The Miz. Tonight’s 2-on-3 Handicap Match will feature McIntyre and Sheamus vs. Miz, Styles and John Morrison.

Backstage – Ricochet

Tom hypes a mixed tag team match as we see what happened last week with Dana Brooke, Ricochet and members of RETRIBUTION. We go backstage to Ricochet and Brooke taking strategy now. Riddle interrupts looking for WWE United States Champion Bobby Lashley and Ricochet is annoyed. He offers some doughnuts but ends up walking off, telling them to let him know if they see Lashley and crew.

Sarah Schreiber interviews Ricochet and Brooke now. Ricochet is confident about showing RETRIBUTION what shame or change is all about tonight. Brooke says it’s all about teamwork and RETRIBUTION will regret it if they try to disrespect them. She shows off her black eye and says she owes Reckoning one.

Reckoning & Slapjack vs. Dana Brooke & Ricochet

As we return to the ring, out comes Reckoning and Slapjack of RETRIBUTION. They head to the ring with their leader, Mustafa Ali following closely behind them as they make their way to the ring for tonight’s match up. With that, we head to commercial break!

We return from the commercial break as Ricochet’s music sounds in the ThunderDome, and out comes Ricochet and Dana Brooke. Ricochet and Dana look at one another at the top of the stage and nod, then run down the ramp and slide into the ring. The referee signals for the bell, and this tag team match is officially underway!

Reckoning immediately heads in at Dana and immediately takes control of the match, until Dana gets a moment to climb on Reckoning where she uses a pinwheel of fists to attack a downed Reckoning. Reckoning gets a Big Boot to the face of Dana in the corner of the ring. Dana heads over to Ricochet for the tag, which forces Slapjack to enter the ring. RIcochet with a Hurricanrana on Slapjack. Slapjack on the outside of the ring, after rolling out to recover momentarily. Ricochet runs across the ring and quickly flies over the top rope, landing on Slapjack!

As Ricochet throws Slapjack back into the ring, Mustafa Ali Slapjack with a Modified Falcon Arrow for the cover! Ricochet kicks out at two, then crawls to the corner. Slapjack tries for a Cannonball on Ricochet in the corner, Ricochet is able roll out of the way causing Slapjack to slam into the bottom turnbuckle. Reckoning tags in, as Dana Brooke enters the ring. Dana Brooke slams Reckoning to the canvas for the three count pin and win!

Winner: Ricochet & Dana Brooke

After the Match

Again? What did I tell you before? You’re going to embarass me, AGAIN?! Ali turns to Slapjack and shouts, “This is how you repay me?!” Commentary notes that the resistence is getting to RETRIBUTION.

Backstage – Sheamus

Sheamus is taping up his wrists and hands as the limitless Keith Lee makes his way up to Sheamus. The Scotsman asks, “Is there something you wanna say to me Keith?” Lee says it’s a matter of time before Sheamus stabs his friend in the back. Sheamus stands up and gets in Lee’s face, excusing himself so he can go turn on the champ and beat the hell out of him. Sheamus stares Lee down and walks off as we head to commercial break!

Becky Lynch & Seth Rollins Announce Their Daughter’s Birth

As we return from the commercial break, we return to the announcer’s table where Tom Phillips notes that on the social media platform, Instagram, news broke earlier today that Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins gave birth to a baby girl!

MIZ TV w/ The Miz & John Morrison

We head to the ring where current Mr. Money-in-the-Bank, The Miz, is standing alongside his tag-team partner/co-host John Morrison for another edition of MIZ TV. The Miz welcomes us to another must see edition of MizTV. Miz talks about how busy he’s been. Yesterday was Tribute to The Troops, Thursday is a new episode of his hit how Miz & Mrs., and tonight they have this and the Handicap Match.

Miz then introduces and welcomes their first guest of tonight’s MIZ TV, who just so happens to be their partner for later tonight… AJ Styles!

AJ Styles Joins

As his entrance theme plays over the speakers in the ThunderDome, out comes The Phenom, AJ Styles who is accompanied by his larger than life side kick, Omos. AJ poses on the stage as the pyro goes off. Miz and Morrison dance to AJ’s music in the ring with smiles on as AJ and Omos make their way down the ramp and into the ring.

Miz starts off by apologizing as they were unable to find a chair that would seat AJ’s associate. Reluctantly, Omos watches the segment from ringside, though AJ informs Miz and Morrison that Omos prefers to stand anyway. Miz and Morrison asks AJ about his plan for the TLC Match against WWE Champion Drew McIntyre at TLC. AJ says it’s pretty challenging because this is his first time facing Drew, but he plans to take a steel chair and wrap it around Drew until it breaks, and to put Drew through every table he sees, so Drew will be coughing up splinters for months.

Styles continues on about McIntyre’s heart and strength, but says all that won’t mean a thing when he knocks Drew out cold! Styles says he will then climbs the ladder to reclaim his spot at the top of the mountain, as the new WWE Champion. Fans boo AJ louder now. Morrison notes that is if Drew makes it to TLC. Miz reminds AJ that they have the chance to annihilate Drew and his friend Sheamus in the Handicap Match tonight. Miz and Morrison go on mocking the accents of Sheamus and McIntyre.

Sheamus Interrupts

Mid-mockery, the entrance music interrupts as Sheamus makes his way out. He says they nailed those accents but as entertaining as it was, he’s tired of everyone in the back saying he would betray his best friend Drew. Sheamus goes on and has some fighting words for Miz and Morrison as fans cheer him on. Miz points to how Sheamus has no one standing with him while there are three of them in the ring. Sheamus says that’s not exactly correct.

WWE Champion Drew McIntyre Stands By Sheamus’s Side

Drew McIntyre’s entrance music interrupts and out comes McIntyre in his kilt. Fans cheer them on and the heels look worried in the ring. Sheamus and McIntyre enter the ring together, facing off with Miz, Morrison and Styles. McIntyre knocks AJ for a pop and turns his attention to Miz and Morrison, commenting on how they keep coming back for more each time they get knocked down. McIntyre recalls how everyone in the back thinks Miz has no balls. Drew knows that’s not true, he knows Miz has balls, just not his original ones because Maryse keeps those in her purse.

McIntyre says Miz replaced those balls with Morrison’s when he made him his personal sidekick b—h. It looks like a fight is about to break out when AJ stands out with Omos, pointing that later on it will really be 4-on-2, not 3-on-2. Sheamus and Drew brawl with Miz and Morrison now, clearing the ring to a pop. They then toss out the MizTV set pieces. Drew grabs the Money In the Bank briefcase and launches it way across the arena, forcing Miz to run and get it back. We see how the flying briefcase shot took out a LED board on the Tron. Drew and Sheamus laugh at Miz and Morrison. AJ and Omos continue looking on from ringside.

Bobby Lashley vs. Jeff Hardy

As we return to the ring, WWE US Champion Bobby Lashley is standing in wait for his opponent for tonight, Jeff Hardy. Before Hardy makes his entrance, we get a quick recap of Lashley’s attack on Riddle from last week.

Hardy is getting ready to head to the ring, but is cut off by Riddle, who proposes that the two pair up and call themselves the Hardy Bros (copyright infringement). Hardy doesn’t really have time for the suggestion, making his way to the ring instead. Collar and elbow tie up to start. Lashley uses his power to gain control right away, targeting the injured back of Hardy from last week.

Lashley taunts Hardy, laying in right hands in the corner. It’s all Lashley as he blasts Hardy in the opposite corner now. Lashley goes for a spear in the corner but it’s reversed. Lashley then attempts a dominator, but gets reversed into a leg drop. Lashley attempts the hurt lock but no dice. Hardy to the top, but MVP distracts him as Lashley picks Hardy up in the electric chair.

Riddle makes his way to the ring now. The distraction is enough for Hardy to take control, as he dives from the apron onto Lashley on the outside. Commercial break.

As we get back from the commercial break, Lashley is in control after slamming Hardy’s head into the ring post on the outside. Riddle is still at ringside and gets right in Lashley’s face. Lashley continues to beat down Hardy on the outside, jaw-jacking Riddle in the process.

As Orton goes to close the door, Ramblin Rabbit interrupts, saying that Bray can’t wait to take on Orton next. “It’s going to be so much fun,” as we head to commercial break.

Randy Orton vs Bray Wyatt

As we return from commercial break, out first is Orton and then Bray Wyatt. The referee signals for the bell and the main event match up of the evening is officially underway. Orton heads in first, going after Bray, Bray side steps. Next, we see Orton head at Bray once again. Orton with a headlock to start. Wyatt breaks out and lands a shoulder tackle. To the outside, Orton goes for a back body drop on the announce desk, but Wyatt turns it around, hitting the viper with the same move.

Wyatt takes a headset from the announce desk and says “yowie wowie, we’ll be right back!!” to send us to commercial break.

We once again return live following the commercial break, commentary notes that Orton is relentless this evening. He lands kicks to a downed Wyatt and then slows the pace down with a head lock. Wyatt fights back, landing some big right hands and an atomic drop. Big clothesline in the corner is followed up by a cross-body and a DDT for a near fall.

Wyatt goes for Sister Abigail, but Orton counters into a Neck Breaker for the cover and a near fall. He follows up with a head butt to Wyatt and then a back body drop in the outside onto the announce desk. Back in the ring, Wyatt is up, and attempts sister Abigail again. Orton reverses with a thumb to the eye. He readies for an RKO, but the lights go out. Unfazed, Orton hits an RKO. When the lights go back up, The Fiend is seen in the ring instead of Wyatt. He locks in the mandible claw as the show heads off the air.

Winner: Match Didn’t Finish

*Writer’s Note: I guess technically Randy Orton won the match as there was interference by The Fiend, causing Bray Wyatt to get disqualified. Then AGAIN… technically, The Fiend IS Bray Wyatt, so it wasn’t a separate person… So. Couldn’t tell ya! Have a good night folks!
