WWE RAW Results - January 4

WWE Monday Night Raw Results (RAW Legends Night) (01/04/21): Tropicana Field, St. Petersburg, FL.

Welcome to eWrestling.com’s latest edition of WWE Monday Night RAW which airs January 4, 2021 starting at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time on the USA Network from the ThunderDome II at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida!

This week’s WWE Monday Night RAW we are reminded that as Raw faded to black last week, Randy Orton lit a match and offered a sadistic grin after Alexa Bliss had doused herself in gasoline and dared The Viper to deliver her the same fate as he did The Fiend. Since Orton set The Fiend ablaze at WWE TLC, Bliss has summoned The Legend Killer from “Alexa’s Playground” hoping to evoke her demonic leader. How did Orton respond to Bliss’ fiery proposition last week? .

Also scheduled for this week’s edition of RAW, we have WWE Hall of Famers headlining tonight’s show including Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Booker T, Big Show, Mark Henry, Torrie Wilson and more that will highlight Raw Legends Night. PLUS, Drew McIntyre faces Keith Lee in a WWE Championship Match. All that and MORE on the January 4, 2021 edition of Monday Night Raw at 8/7 C on the USA Network!

Featured below are complete results for the January 4, 2021 edition of WWE Monday Night RAW. The following report was written by eWrestling.com female reporter, Jamie Rush. Follow Jamie on Twitter @JamieRush312.

WWE Monday Night RAW Results

Show Opening

“WWE Forever” graphic plays us into the January 4, 2021 episode of WWE Monday Night RAW, the VERY FIRST edition of RAW for the new 2021 year! The RAW Previews RAW Previewsfrom the official WWE website gave us a look into what to expect this evening with the WWE Legends! Are you ready??

Opening Segment

We hear a familiar slightly raspy voice begin to narrate as we see a “Hulkamania” yellow and red phone laying on a flat surface. “Everyone has heard of the “iPhone,” the narration begins, “but what you’re looking at here, this… is the H-Phone, brother!” Again the voice continues, “And with an H-Phone, you can Tweet, you can Instagram, you can Facebook, and you can YouTube. Or… [two hands pick up the phone] *Hulk’s entrance theme begins* …you can even make a phone call, and ask just one question,”

The camera pans up from the H-Phone to a yellow and red boa, and finally a sunglasses-wearing Hulkster (No, not @MikeHogan from Rajah.com, the ORIGINAL Hulk Hogan!) continues to lift the H-Phone to his ear as he shouts in all his Hulkster glory, “WHATCHA GONNA DO, WHEN THE H-PHONE HULKAMANIA AND THE LEGENDS NIGHT, ON RAW… RUNS WILD, ON YOU BROTHER??”

Hogan’s entrance theme music continues to play as the segment cuts over the the WWE ThunderDome II at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, FL as the crowd roars with cheers as the familiar song continues to play over the speakers.

Announcer’s Table – Commentary With Michael Cole & Corey Graves

We hear the voice of Michael Cole on commentary at ringside along with his co-host, Corey Graves as they welcome us to the first WWE RAW of 2021 after having Hulk Hogan hype up Legends Night tonight! Cole then switches topics as he sends us over to the ring to kick off tonight’s show with a special episode of MIZ TV as The Miz and John Morrison stand inside the ring.

In-Ring – MIZ TV

As we head over to the ring, The Miz and John Morrison are standing in wait as they anticipate the start for yet another “must-see” edition of MizTV for the New Year, the first episode of MizTV for 2021 in fact! After their welcome, Miz exclaims that Legends Night here on RAW is action-packed tonight! Miz then plugs tonight’s match-up with Keith Lee vs. WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, as well as announcing an additional match-up with Jeff Hardy vs. Randy Orton.

As The Miz and John Morrison continue the segment of MizTV, they make special note of some of the guests that are here on RAW for tonight’s Legends Night which includes but is not limited to – WWE Hall of Famers Ric Flair, Torrie Wilson, Booker T and Hulk Hogan, but Morrison adds that most importantly the legendary Miz will be appearing tonight. Fans boo.

Miz is excited because WWE officials came to their senses and reinstated the Money In the Bank briefcase to him. They agree that 2021 will be the year of Miz and Morrison.

First Guests – The New Day

After all the announcements, it is now time for The Miz to turn things over to the guest portion of MizTV. Miz then introduces his very first guests of 2021, which is the team of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, representing The New Day! Miz and Morrison thank The New Day for coming, but then Kofi and Woods thank Miz and Morrison for coming to their new talk show… New Day Talks. Wait, whaaat?

Miz and Morrison do not find this amusing in the least as both Kingston and Woods are smiling ear to ear as they continue on. Kofi says Woods is the band leader. They go on and say this will be like a cookout, but since Miz and Morrison aren’t invited… they will go over what this show will be about.

According to The New Day members, tonight’s WWE RAW is going to have something for everyone, “a little bit of everything” if you will. Woods follows up by adding that includes some beef… and working Smell-o-vision.

Woods jokes that the Smell-o-vision is working, a knock at Miz and Morrison. The two sides keep trading shots.Kofi Kingston whips out a pile of interview cards. He asks New Year’s resolutions, and Morrison wants to become a certified hibachi chef, invest in Etherium, and a third thing I didn’t quite catch.

Who of the legends would he like to go to dinner with? Tatanka. Miz is getting hot at John for playing along and tries to cut the interview off. Woods is also the bailiff, not just the band leader of New Day Talks. Kingston states that every good talk show has a bailiff (a’la Judge Judy, Judge Joe Brown, Judge Whopner, etc.)

After their explanation on why they needed a bailiff, Kofi then throws yet another curve ball on his (and Xavier’s) show as he states, “It’s time for the cooking part of their show, with the celebrity chef Woods!” New Day calls it “Cooking Like Bootyworth”, with celebrity chef Xavier Woods. Miz has had it up to here… enough is enough!

So The Miz begins to yell, interrupting “Chef Woods” mid-creation. Miz is furious at The New Day for making a mockery of MizTV.

Entrance – WWE Hall of Famer – Teddy Long

Just as it seemed things couldn’t get any WEIRDER for New Day TV err… MizTV, things get weirder. The entrance theme music playing over the speakers in the ThunderDome suddenly interrupts all four co-hosts of their shows respectively, and out comes WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long!

Coming out to center stage is Long, who has a microphone in hand as he does his signature “Hold up, playa!” catch phrase! The crowd pops! Long then gives examples, he announces Miz and Morrison vs. The Undertaker. The New Day marks out with excitement. WWE official Adam Pearce comes out and whispers something to Long. Long corrects his announcement and says it will be Miz and Morrison vs. The New Day instead, and that match is next. Long dances around as his music starts back up.

The two teams argue in the ring. We go to commercial.

The New Day vs. The Miz and John Morrison

As we return from the first commercial break of the evening, we see both teams already inside the ring, preparing for their match-up which will begin momentarily. The referee stands in the center of the ring as he signals for the bell. The bell rings and our first WWE RAW match of 2021 is officially underway!!

To start things off, For Team New Day, Xavier Woods starts things off inside the ring with John Morrison who is in for his team to kick off the match. Woods immediately heads in on Morrison and powers Morrison into the corner where he begins to deliver Chops to Morrison over and over. Ready to jump in the action, the other 1/2 of The New Day, Kofi Kingston, tags in to get his turn at the action! Kingston and Woods momentarily Double Team as they both unload on Morrison!

As Woods exits the ring before his alotted amount of time is up between tags, Kingston heads in for the cover on Morrison to attempt an early victory, to no avail as Morrison kicks out at the two! Kingston then heads back over to Woods to allow Woods the opportunity to tag back in and again they take advantage of their short period of time together in the ring between tags as they subject Morrison to more Double Team action!

Woods drops a Big Elbow across the face of Morrison for yet another pin-fall attempt, once again, Morrison is able to power out of the cover to continue the match. As Morrison kicks out, he also knocks Woods back and takes advantage of the distance between the two as Morrison follows up with a Knee to the face of Woods.

At this point, The Miz tags in once again and Stomps on Woods while he’s down! Miz kicks Woods around but misses a running big boot. Woods rolls him up for a 2 count. Woods turns it back around in the corner. Kofi tags back in for more double teaming. Miz kicks out at 2. Kofi grounds Miz in the middle of the ring now.

Miz and Kofi trade offense as Miz hits The Skull Crushing Finale and Kingston goes for Trouble In Paradise. Kingston is able to get the upper hand when it comes to the offense on Miz, and Kingston is able to turn the match around. To try and re-gain control, The Miz lands a Kick to the face of Woods. We get yet another double team and a 2 count.

More back and forth between the two teams. Kingston and Woods are able to power both Miz and Morrison to the edge of the ring where they both end up knocked out to the floor. Kofi immediately takes advantage of where his opponents are standing at ringside as Kingston runs and leaps out, taking them back down as we head to commercial break once again!

Back from the break and Kofi is beating Morrison up. Kofi also knocks Miz while he’s trying to distract. Morrison takes advantage and attacks, leveling Kofi with a kick to the face. Miz tags in and goes to work on Kofi with strikes while he’s down. Miz uses the middle rope on Kofi as the referee warns him. Miz argues with the referee, allowing Morrison to land a cheap shot on the apron.

Fans boo Morrison on that one. The Miz heads over to where his partner is standing, allowing Morrison to tag back in and together, they hit the double Gut-buster on Kofi for the cover which leads to a 2 count. Kingston is able to kick out, only to have Morrison grounds him again as Miz distracts the referee some more. Fans rally for Kofi now. Kofi fights out and up but Morrison stops the tag, ramming Kofi back to the corner. Miz tags in, mocks Woods and hits the running corner clothesline to Kofi for a 2 count.

Miz grounds Kofi with a knee to the back now. Kofi powers up and out as fans chant for The New Day. Kofi still can’t tag as Miz knees him in the ribs. Miz goes for the Figure Four but Kofi kicks him away. Kofi unloads with offense and drops Miz with the SOS. They both go down as their partners reach for tags.

Both Kingston and Miz struggle to their respective corners as they try to tag in their partners to continue the match. Unexpectedly (-enter sarcasm here-) Morrison and Woods are able to tag in at the same time with recharged momentum! Woods starts off the offense as he lands two Clotheslines and follows up with a Scissors Kick. Miz runs in but Woods sends him to the floor.

Morrison kicks Woods and rocks him with a Stiff Forearm that lands Woods directly in the center of the ring. Woods realizing the danger he is in, begins to tangle with Morrison and powers up as he lands a Discus Forearm. Woods leaps onto Morrison on the second rope, ending up on the floor to dodge Miz. Kofi comes over and takes out Miz.

Morrison and Woods take their turn together once again as they struggle to gain control in the center of the ring now. Kofi notices that Morrison is trying to use the ropes to cheat and quickly puts a stop to it for the assist for Woods. Morrison is unhappy about this as he begins to argue with Kofi but Woods Dropkicks Morrison from behind.

Woods goes on and hits a Shining Wizard to Morrison for the pin to win.

Winners: The New Day

After the Match

The New Day celebrates as their team’s theme music hits the speakers of the ThunderDome. We go to replays as the camera pans around and shows Miz and Morrison sitting up against the barrier, looking disappointed as the winners celebrate their victory.

Video Clip – “Last Week’s RAW”

We switch to the next segment as Michael Cole and Corey Graves discuss how last week’s RAW ended after the “Main Event” was scheduled as a match between Randy Orton and Alexa Bliss. No actual wrestling between the two, (shocker). Bliss discusses what Orton did to The Fiend, and then demands Orton do the same thing to her.

The segment Last Week ends with The Viper holding the match over Alexa Bliss, who had soaked herself in gasoline in the center of the ring with a line of gasoline from in front of Orton’s boots all the way to where Bliss lay in the center of the ring.

Backstage Interview – Randy Orton

Following the video clip, we immediately head backstage where WWE Interviewer Charly Caruso is standing with the Apex Predator, Randy Orton. Caruso starts off with a question for Orton, asking him what thoughts were going through his head at that exact moment in the ring last week.

Orton pauses for a moment before responding, thinking about his answer. He then starts his response by stating that the voices in his head told him to drop the match and watch Bliss burn but he couldn’t do it, and he realized why – it’s because just like everyone else who has faced The Fiend, something changes in you. Orton says he showed Bliss restraint, therefore he showed her compassion and mercy, and for that he hates himself for it.

Orton continues on stating that he then realized that the hatred for himself, that is something… that he can mold and sculpt into something beneficial to him. He realized that now there are no boundaries and he is capable of any and everything. Orton asks if we can imagine him re-directing that newfound hatred to someone else?

Wanting to dig a little deeper, Caruso then asks Orton about The Fiend, but Orton doesn’t want to talk about The Fiend right now. Now he’s going to go on a walk and find some of his old friends. Some Legends he says. Orton concludes that he wants to remind them why he is The Legend Killer. Fans boo loudly as we head to our next commercial break.

Video Clip – New Year’s Eve – 24/7 Title Change

As we return from the commercial break and we head into a video clip that highlights the events that led to how Angel Garza won the WWE 24/7 Title from R-Truth on New Year’s Eve during the TikTok livestream. Garza then proceeded to run off, not before wishing the WWE Universe a “Happy 2021!”

Backstage – Angel Garza

Following the video clip, we head backstage where Angel Garza is up to his usual antics as he begins his flirting with Alicia Fox, but she clearly isn’t the least bit interested. As Garza attempts a different approach… Fox walks off.

Garza shrugs it off and simply moves on to the next female that is in his path as Garza then approaches Tatanka, Mickie James and WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter who are standing together backstage. Garza opens a conversation and after some brief dialogue, Garza states that he’s honored to meet Mickie, and follows up by his offering James a rose.

Sgt. Slaughter intercepts the rose before James can accept or decline it and turns to Garza, calling him a maggot. Not wanting any trouble from the Sarg, Garza walks off.

On that note, we head to our next commercial break of the evening!

AJ Styles vs. Elias

As we return from the commercial break, we return to the ring where out first for the next match-up, is The Phenomenal One, AJ Styles who is accompanied by Omos. Styles makes his way down the ramp with Omos following closely behind, Styles then enters the ring where he awaits his opponent. Out next is Styles opponent for this match-up. Ladies and Gentleman… Elias. Elias makes his way down the ramp accompanied by Jaxson Ryker. Elias enters the ring with Styles as the referee signals for the bell.

The bell rings and this next match-up is officially underway! To kick things off, Styles takes control of Elias as he gets a Headlock firmly locked in on Elias for a take-down. AJ takes control early on, taking Elias down with a headlock. Elias looks to break it but AJ keeps it locked in and tries for a quick pin attempt. Elias fights up and out, rocking AJ in the jaw. Elias knocks AJ into the corner and unloads now, beating him down and stomping away.

Elias chops AJ. Elias whips AJ hard across the ring, then clotheslines him for a 2 count. Elias grounds AJ now. More back and forth between the two. Elias drops AJ over the top rope and then presses him high in the air, launching him ribs-first onto the top turnbuckle. Elias then levels AJ with a big right hand, knocking him from the apron to the floor near Omos. Elias stands tall in the ring as we go back to commercial.

Styles with a Side Headlock, Elias Blocks, takeover out of the corner. Back Suplex from the Elias, but Styles is able to hang on to the Headlock he has still firmly locked in and Styles stays on Elias. Getting several Strikes in Elias heads off the ropes and follows up with a Front Kick! Elias with the Hot Shot and a military press drop into the turnbuckles before knocking Styles off the apron from the inside of the ropes with a Powerful Forearm as we are sent to our next commercial break of the evening.

As we return from the commercial break, we see that Elias is hammering Styles in the corner of the ring slamming him into the turnbuckles. Both men struggle to take the dominant position, AJ trips Elias into the turnbuckles and follows up immediately by trading strikes with the guitar playing drifter in the middle of the ring.

Next we get the Styles Rush as Elias is able to evade the move and then counters with a Sit-out Chokeslam! This still doesn’t put an end to things as the match continues on! We see Styles take a turn trying to end the match as he hits an Enzuguri out of the corner. Styles looks for the Phenomenal Forearm as he countered with a Knee out of nowhere for the cover. Elias is able to kick out. Next we see an Electric Chair Powerbomb reversed into a Frankensteiner as Styles hits a Sheer-drop Brainbuster finishing the match with a Styles Clash for the three count pin and win!

Winner: AJ Styles

After the Match

Elias’s companion Jaxson Ryker tries to hit Elias’s guitar over Styles, to no avail as The Phenomenal One has his Big Ol’ Omos on his side who is able to big boot it out of his hands and shatters the guitar! Big Buddy Omos big boots it out of his hands and shatters the guitar in the process!

Video Clip

We head into a quick video clip that highlights the return of Charlotte Flair, followed up with Flair declaring herself for the Royal Rumble 2021 match.

In-Ring – Charlotte Flair w/ Ric Flair

As the video clip ends, we head back to the ThunderDome II inside of Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, FL as the entrance theme music for Charlotte Flair sounds through the arena speakers as Charlotte and her father, Nature Boy, Ric Flair at her side as Charlotte makes her way towards the ring and we head to commercial break!

As we return from the commercial break, we head backstage where ever-the-entrepreneur Matt Riddle is trying to sell Big Show, the largest (and thus best) wrestler in the world, on being the “Big Bro”

Riddle says he’s going to get ready for his huge match with WWE United States Champion Bobby Lashley, but he will reconnect with Show later. Riddle walks off. Randy Orton walks up and says it must be an interesting feeling knowing you can’t step in the ring again. Show eludes to the belief that there is no statement anywhere in WWE that he is unable to enter the ring.

Orton reminds him what happened last time they got in the ring together, and says Show’s career is over thanks to him. Show dismisses this and says he can get back in the ring any time. Orton ends up grabbing Show by the throat and threatening him some more. Show just smiles and sits in his chair, while Orton’s hand is still around his throat. Show knows what Orton is trying to do.

Show goes on and says he’s not embarrassed to be out there with the Legends tonight, he’s proud. Orton isn’t buying this and says if true Show would do something about what he just did. Orton goes on taunting Show before walking off. We see Show seething in his chair. He says it must be an interesting feeling knowing that he can never compete in that ring again, and Show takes issue with this idea.

Orton says his career is over because he punted him in the head the last time he wrestled, and Big says he can compete right now. Randy grabs him by the collarbone but Show says he sees what he’s doing and he’s not going to do anything foolish. He’s proud to be here on Legends Night, and Orton says he doesn’t have the guts to reintroduce himself to the Legend Killer, so he’ll be on his way.

Peyton Royce and Lacey Evans appear as they get an inset promo. The two powerful women discuss their ability to win and exactly how they won their last match. They then follow up discussing the legends what a future legend looks like.

WWE RAW Women’s Tag-Team Match
Asuka & Charlotte Flair vs. Lacey Evans & Peyton Royce

We go back to the ring and Asuka is out to join Flair. Peyton Royce is out first for her team as Mike Rome does the introductions. As Royce makes her way to the stage and then heads down the ramp towards the ring, fans begin to boo Royce. Out next comes Royce’s tag-team partner, Lacey Evans.

Video Clip

As Evans makes her way down the ramp to join Royce, we head into a video clip that was recorded earlier today with Royce and Evans praising the current champions and giving them props but then in the same breath begin taunting them over tonight’s match. The referee signals for the bell as Charlotte Flair climbs in for her team and Peyton Royce enters for her team. The bell rings and this match up is officially underway!

As the match begins, Flair and Royce head in towards one another and the two exchange (non)pleasantries as the two immediately lock up. Flair slams Royce in the center of the ring. Evans leans in and extends her long arms as she desperately wants to get her hands on Flair. Evans finally tags in, before heading into the match stops and waves to The Nature Boy. Flair locks up and takes Evans down. Flair nearly gets Evans in the Figure Four Leglock but she bails to the floor.

Peyton is once again able to enter the ring with the tag, this time Royce and Evans get quick tags over and over in order to wear Flair down! Working her over for a beat but she fights back, STO backbreaker and a tag! Asuka in with a missile dropkick, hip attack to Lacey, bowling Royce over and hitting her with a hip attack in the corner! Next we get a Lariat that takes both out and gets a two count!

Finally a Whip to the corner followed by a wicked Forearm that knocks Asuka out to ringside. The camera pans over to Evans who is being anything but “lady-like” as she shakes her tush in The Nature Boy’s face. Charlotte has had enough of the inappropriateness with Evans, so she heads over and with a quickness slaps Evans! Evans is stunned but then the two begin to brawl on the floor and we once again head to commercial break.

As we return from the commercial break to continue this match-up, the Evans and Royce continue to Stomp away at Asuka in the corner as the Double Team her. More quick tags follow until Flair has finally had enough of the games in the ring and heads in to clean house.

Flair then begins to work Evans’ leg over in the corner! There’s more back and forth, until finally the match breaks down. Asuka attempts a Hip Attack countered with a Neck-breaker in the ropes! Lacey tries seducing Ric one last time. For some strange reason, as Charlotte is able to cut her off… her own daddy, the Nature Boy TRIPS his own daughter inside the ring! Peyton then quickly gets a Crucifix Pin on Flair for the three count pin and win!

Winners: Lacey Evans & Peyton Royce

After the Match

As Lacey Evans celebrates her victory with Peyton Royce, Evans kisses the Nature Boy before leaving him to solemnly wait for his daughter to leave the ring. Flair walks up to Daddy Flair and sternly gets in his face demanding that he stay out of her business again.

Backstage – WWE Champion Drew McIntyre

Following the Women’s Tag-Team match-up, we head backstage where we run into the WWE Champion, Drew McIntyre. The champ is sitting on a stool in the back where he is taping up his wrists when suddenly is long-time pal Sheamus walks up to him.

McIntyre not fazed in the least, continues to tape his wrists as he informs Sheamus that he’s ready for his match. Sheamus responds to the statement with a question as he asks McIntyre him to give Keith Lee one extra kick in the head for him. Drew says he’ll do whatever it takes to retain this title.

Hogan Enters

As McIntyre finishes his statement regarding his current WWE Championship, WWE Legend Hulk Hogan walks up to McIntyre and he wishes Drew luck and says he’s carried the WWE Championship with pride. McIntyre gently mocks his pal by suggesting that if he’s like Hogan, he must be like Jimmy Hart. Sheamus prickles a little but walks off in good humor as Drew and Hulk do the “whatcha gonna do?” routine as we head to commercial break!

Bobby Lashley vs. Matt Riddle

As we return from the commercial break, we head back to the ring for our next non-title matchup of the evening. Out first is The Original Bro, Matt Riddle. Riddle makes his way down the ramp and into the ring where he lands a Double Kick as his slides go flying through the air as his pyro goes off around the ring. Riddle awaits his opponent for the evening as he stands inside the ring and the next entrance theme turns up.

Out next is WWE United States Champion, Bobby Lashley who is accompanied by his friend and co-worker, Bobby Lashley who is accompanied by fellow Hurt Business member, MVP as the two make their way down the ramp and enter the ring for this match up. As we see Lashley on the outside of the ring with MVP, he hands over the United States Championship belt to turn and enter the ring when suddenly Riddle attacks from behind before the bell!

Bro… not cool. Riddle continues to unload on Lashley at ringside as the referee attempts to break things up for an official start. Both superstars enter the ring finally as the referee signals for the bell. The bell then rings and Lashley immediately swings at Riddle who is able to duck and Lashley misses. Riddle goes to work on an angry Lashley now. Riddle looks to get the upper hand and take control but Lashley manhandles him and dumps him on his neck.

Lashley takes Riddle to the corner and goes to work as MVP cheers him on. They tangle at the ropes and Riddle looks to lock in a triangle on the ropes, but they both spill over onto the canvas. In his comfort zone on the mat, Riddle turns and repositions as he begins to Kick at Lashley who takes a few good ones before catching Riddle on the shoulders. Lashley takes advantage of the positioning and Lashley runs Riddle into the ring post and hits hard on the edge, turning Riddle inside out! Riddle lands on the floor at ringside as we once again head back to commercials.

As we return from the commercial break once again, we see that Lashley is in control as commentary’s Corey Graves and Michael Cole give a quick run-down of what we missed during the break!. Lashley grounds Riddle now. We see how Lashley hit a big chokeslam during the break as Riddle charged. Riddle fights up and out now. Riddle with a kick.

Lashley catches the next kick, then delivers a back elbow and runs over Riddle, stunning him on the mat. Lashley grounds Riddle again as a “Bro!” chant starts up from the crowd. Riddle fights up but Lashley sends him head-first into the top turnbuckle. Lashley with more big strikes in the corner. Lashley dominates in the corner as the referee warns him again. Lashley charge into a corner but has to put the brakes on as Riddle moves. Lashley keeps control and takes Riddle head-first into the turnbuckles again.

Lashley sends Riddle to the mat. Riddle gets up and avoids a full clothesline. Riddle with a kick to the head and more offense. Lashley blocks the Exploder suplex but Riddle counters the next move, hits a punt kick and more for a 1 count. Riddle with the Final Flash for another quick 1 count. MVP continues yelling as Riddle goes to the top.

Riddle is barely distracted, but that’s enough for Lashley to come over, put Riddle on his shoulders, and deliver the Dominator in the middle of the ring. Lashley stands over Riddle and poses as the boos get louder. Lashley wastes some time but then applies the Hurt Lock. Riddle tries to break it but he eventually taps out.

Riddle gets sent to the mat as the referee comes to the apron to join Lashley. However, the referee didn’t see Riddle tap out and the match is still going. Riddle takes advantage of the distraction and rolls Lashley up for the pin to get the non-title win.

Winner: Matt Riddle

After the Match

Immediately following his victory, Riddle heads straight to the ramp to return to the backstage area as his entrance theme music hits and he begins a little shoulder bouncin fist pumpin’ dance.

A sour loser, Lashley, argues inside the ring with the referee as if losing wasn’t even plausable. MVP agrees and argues right alongside Lashley instead of rationalizing and helping me calm him, MVP argues even more that Lashley with the referee!

We then head to the highlights replays that shows where Riddle tapped when the referee couldn’t see him. The announcers wonder if this was intentional, agreeing that it was clever. Lashley fumes and looks on at Riddle on the stage.

Backstage – Ricochet

We head backstage where Ricochet is standing with WWE Hall of Famer, Mark Henry. Ricochet thanks him for everything he’s done. Henry is using one of the medical mobile scooters for his knee, indicating a recent surgery or something like that.

Randy Orton Walks Up

Interrupting a nice moment, Randy Orton walks up and taunts Henry some, and also declares his entry into the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match. Henry goes to leave but Orton grabs him and stops him. Orton says maybe they should go somewhere and reminisce, catch up on old times like when Henry was representing the Hall of Pain and hit Orton with the World’s Strongest Slam over and over and over.

Orton says he owes Henry a lot of receipts, but he was thinking of giving Henry a pass because it’s a special night, but a pass only if Henry pedals his way out of here. Orton tells Henry to get out of here. Henry starts pushing his scooter as Orton yells at him and taunts him. Fans boo Orton and we go back to commercial.

Backstage Interview – MVP and WWE United States Champion Bobby Lashley

As we return from the commercial break, we get a replay of what happened during the match with Riddle and Bobby Lashley. Charly Caruso is backstage with MVP and Lashley now. MVP says Lashley was robbed of a victory, and it’s nothing but a travesty. They both go on and insist that Riddle quit.

Bobby Lashley continues on to state that next time he gets his hands on Riddle he won’t beat him or hurt him, he’s going to hurt Riddle’s punk ass. Lashley storms off and MVP isn’t far behind after another word to Caruso.

RAW Women’s One-On-One Non-Title Match
Mandy Rose vs. Shayna Baszler

As we return to the ring, out first comes Mandy Rose as her entrance theme sounds over the speakers in the ThunderDome II at Tropicana Field in St Petersburg, FL. Rose makes her way down the ramp and enters the ring.

As Rose finishes her entrance, we head into a video clip that shows what happened during last week’s show with Shayna Baszler defeating Dana Brooke and the post-match attack to Rose, but Baszler suddenly attacks now and takes Rose out at ringside!

Brooke runs down to check on Rose as Baszler stands tall in the ring. Brooke yells at Baszler while the referee tells her to leave as he checks on Rose to see if she is able to continue in tonight’s match up. Rose back to her feet, nods that she can continue and the referee signals for the bell to officially begin the match.

The bell rings and this match is now officially underway! Rose heads in Baszler ducks, then unloads on Brooke with kicks. Baszler grabs Brooke by the face and taunts her, but she then gets tossed through the ropes to the floor. Baszler rushes back in and they tangle. Brooke avoids the Kirifuda Clutch and turns that into the upset pin out of nowhere.

Winner: Dana Brooke

After the match

Baszler immediately locks in the Kirifuda Clutch. Rose rushes in and drops Baszler with a knee to make the save. Rose and Brooke then double team Baszler face-first into the mat. Baszler ends up on the floor as Rose and Brooke taunt her from the ring.

Backstage – The Legend Killer Creeps Around The WWE Legends…

We head backstage where The Viper, Randy Orton, quietly approaches WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair with Molly Holly and Irwin “IRS” Schyster backstage. IRS and Holly immediately walk off. Orton proposes that Flair walk him to the ring for old times tonight. Flair yells at Orton and says he’ll never walk Orton out again, and goes on about Orton recently turning on him.

Orton says he learned everything he knows from The Dirtiest Player In the Game but Flair is only relevant now because of his daughter. Orton asks Flair how he feels after taking that punt kick last year. Orton goes on and says when he looks at Flair, he sees a man who looks and talks like Flair, but he is not the man who taught Orton damn near everything he knows.

Orton concludes his tirade by stating that Flair is now nothing to him, and everyone else, but a pathetic old man. Fans boo Orton as he walks off. Flair stares him down as we go to commercial.

Backstage – Keith Lee Warms Up

As we return from the commercial break once again, we head backstage where we see how Keith Lee defeated Sheamus to become the new #1 contender last week in a video clip.

As the clip closes, we are again backstage and we see Lee is warming up now when Riddle approaches him, wishing him good luck. Riddle says Lee doesn’t need the good luck because he’s a stallion, and it’s time for Lee to be the new champ for the new year. Lee thanks Riddle and says he will see him later as Riddle leaves.
