The WWE SmackDown Women's Title was on the line during last night's WWE WrestleMania Backlash as "The Queen" Charlotte Flair defended the title against Ronda Rousey in an "I Quit" Match. Ronda Rousey won the "I Quit" Match and walked out as the new WWE SmackDown Women's Champion after locking Flair in an armbar inside of a steel chair. Ronda initially locked Flair in a similar move, but Flair didn't quit and that only infuriated Rousey. Rousey then said she wanted to hear Flair quit, so she locked in the move once more, which would lead to Flair uttering the words, “I Quit” and Rousey winning the title.
According to the WWE, Charlotte Flair suffered a “fracture of the radius” during the I Quit Match and it was believed that the injury occurred when Rousey locked in her finisher with Flair's arm inside a steel chair. WWE is expected to announced that this will just be a storyline injury and Charlotte can return to action soon, but it's also possible that the WWE could be writing her out of television for a little while.
Fightful Select reports that Charlotte Flair's injury at last night's WWE WrestleMania Backlash Event is definitely a storyline injury and it was done to have Rousey remove Flair out of the storylines as The Queen is reportedly taking a little time off, but there is no word yet how long Charlotte will be out of action.
