— Stephanie McMahon’s resignation from WWE last week sent shockwaves through the company with a ton of red flags raised due to the fact that she assured employees just days earlier that the leadership team within WWE was staying the same with herself, Nick Khan and Paul Levesque running the ship even with Vince McMahon back.
— According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, people close to Stephanie tried to explain the departure as related to her decision to step away last year due to family reasons but it still raised questions as this latest move was clearly a resignation and not a leave of absence. Not only did Stephanie step down from her role as co-CEO, but she left the Board of Directors and essentially cut ties with WWE – a family company she has worked for since she was a teenager. The story added that Stephanie and Vince did “have issues” in working together as family members and it was Nick Khan who served as sort of a “buffer” who kept things smooth between the two as well as between Vince and Levesque.
— As noted before, Vince replaced Stephanie as Chairperson of the Board on 1/9 which came on the same day that the Board voted unanimously to vote Stephanie off. Her letter of resignation then was taken officially the next day on 1/10. The Observer summarized it by saying essentially she was removed from her position, Vince was voted in and then she handed in her resignation as co-CEO and a Board member and basically cut ties with the company.
