WWE News & Notes: Reason NXT Show Was Moved From Tampa, Wyatt Sicks Update, more

Yesterday, WWE canceled next week’s NXT show at the Yuengling Center, disrupting four straight days of WWE shows at the venue. Instead, they moved the event to their Performance Center near Orlando, though at the time no reason was given for this switch.

According to reports, the big reason why NXT was pulled from Tampa is due to low ticket sales as officials felt that the show would instead come across better in terms of the atmosphere on television if it was in front of a packed audience in a smaller arena rather than a small audience in a bigger venue. The most to the Performance Center was not a difficult one from a logistical perspective since the hop from Tampa to Orlando is a short one. Before the event was yanked in Tampa, NXT had sold less than 2,000 tickets.

PWInsider.com reports that the belief within the Performance Center is that Doug Basham will be coming in to work as a Guest Coach at the facility next month.

There are no updates on when The Wyatt Sicks stable will be back on TV. They have not been seen from since last year after Bo Dallas suffered an injury and then their creative was put on hold. However, there have been recent signs that the group could be close to returning to TV and many fans have circled Friday’s Smackdown as a potential return date though there are no credible sources who have backed that up yet. Erick Rowan, who is part of the Wyatt stable, was recently spotted training at the WWE Performance Center.
