Last night on WWE Smackdown, WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair went at it again in an in-ring face-to-face segment in building towards their upcoming WrestleMania 41 match. According to multiple sources, the segment went off the rails as both women went off script with their verbiage.

The WrestleVotes X account posted that “Charlotte & Tiffany said very little of what was in the rundown for them. Off script quite a bit” and while pwinsiderelite.com offered up more details on what may have happened.

According to the latter report, towards the end of the in-ring segment, Stratton made references to Flair being “alone” and “0-3” which was alluding to Flair’s divorces. Charlotte followed it up by dragging in Stratton’s partner, Ludwig Kaiser, suggesting that he’s been in her DMs. The backstage belief was that Stratton went off script and “fired away” on Flair in response to how Flair “ate her up” during their previous one-on-one interaction.

The opinion backstage was split with some feeling that Stratton stood up for herself and put the spotlight rightfully back on her as the reigning champ while others felt that with the segment going off script like that didn’t help anyone. Some noted that the boisterous anti-Flair audience in Chicago rattled her which allowed Stratton to take advantage and hit her even harder with her words. When Flair made her final comment about Kaiser being in her DMs, Stratton had already dropped her mic and rolled out of the ring which one source felt was a “flailing shot from a boxer who didn’t realize they were KO’d” and that Charlotte was very obviously triggered by Stratton’s comments.

WWE has edited out some of the comments on their YouTube highlights but as of this morning, the full face-to-face was still available for streaming for non-American viewers on Netflix. It remains to be seen what will remain and what will be edited out on the on-demand version of Smackdown or if WWE leans into this segment or decides to completely ignore it.
