During this past weekend’s WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event special, “The Best in the World” CM Punk defeated “Main Event” Jey Uso to become the new World Heavyweight Champion. Punk secured his victory by delivering a knee strike to Uso, followed by two GTS moves.
In the lead-up to the event, Uso expressed his frustration with Punk. After the match, he reacted on Instagram by sharing a photo of Punk holding the championship belt and captioned it with “Y’all win,” along with a middle finger emoji.
Punk earned the #1 contender spot by defeating Uso and LA Knight in a Triple Threat Match on a recent episode of RAW. Uso had secured his title shot against Punk by winning a battle royal two weeks prior. Punk is now the champion after Seth Rollins was stripped of the title due to injury.
