— When WWE announced that the Rock would be at Elimination Chamber today in Toronto, an extra 2,300 tickets were immediately sold according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. As of earlier this week, almost 30,000 tickets were sold making Elimination Chamber the 5th largest audience pro wrestling event in Canada. However, it will end up being the largest gate for a pro wrestling event in Canadian history thanks to higher ticket prices in today’s age.
— The Observer also reported that there were several people internally within WWE who were upset when the Elimination Chamber advertisements all the wrestlers removed and replaced with a new ad that had only a photo of The Rock on it.
— WWE CCO Triple H posted on social media yesterday that today’s Elimination Chamber and related events would be an “industry changing weekend”, so take that for whatever it’s worth.
