On December 15th, 2020, World Wrestling Entertainment filed a trademark for “The Collective”, The company intended to use the term for “wrestling exhibitions and performances,” after making the filing with USPTO. However, Game Changer Wrestling had previously been using the term, in an effort to promote its series of WrestleMania weekend shows.
According to an update from PWInsider, WWE has abandoned their pursuit to trademark the term, and made the decision to do so on June 4th, 2021.
