WWE NXT 2.0 One Year Anniversary Quick Recap for Sept. 13, 2022
Matches Tonight: 7 (approx. 49 minutes)
- NXT Tag Team Championship Steel Cage Match: Pretty Deadly(c) vs the Creed Brothers. The steel cage special stipulation was chosen by the NXT Universe via online poll. Pretty Deadly picked up the win after Damon Kemp interfered, handcuffing Julius Creed to the cage. 8:04-8:19pm EST.
- Singles Match: Lash Legend vs Fallon Henley. Henley won the very short match. 8:32-8:34pm EST.
- Singles Squash Debut Match: Quincy Elliott(d) vs Sean Gallagher. “The Super Diva” picked up the squash win. 8:53-8:54pm EST.
- Tag Team Match: the D’Angelo Family vs Cameron Grimes & a mystery partner. At first, it appeared Grimes was in a 2-on-1 handicapped match. Mid-match, Joe Gacy showed up and apparently was Grimes’ mystery partner. The two picked up the win but after Grimes again rebuffed Gacy, Gacy and his Dyads beat down Grimes afterwards. 9:02-9:10pm EST.
- Tag Team Match: Nikkita Lyons & Zoey Stark vs Kiana James & Arianna Grace. Stark & Lyons picked up the win in a solid match. 9:23-9:32pm EST.
- Singles Match: “Big Body” Javier Bernal vs Hank “the security guard” Walker. Walker picked up the win and had the NXT Universe staunchly behind him. Best pop and cheers of the night were for the security guard. 9:41-9:44pm EST.
- North American Championship Match: Carmelo Hayes(c) vs Solo Sikoa. Wes Lee was chosen by the NXT Universe via an online poll, setting this match up but Lee was taken out earlier in the day by Hayes. He was replaced by Solo Sikoa, shocking the crowd as he’s currently in the Bloodline. A great match that saw Solo Sikoa pick up his first gold in the NXT/WWE. 9:55-10:06pm EST.
Miscellaneous Non-Match Segments of Note:
- Mandy Rose’s Next Challenger: Alba Fyre, formerly known as Kay Lee Ray.
- Missing Time: See all those gaps up there? It was filled with various videos highlighting the first year of NXT 2.0, including an interview with NXT Champion Bron Breakker.
- Next Week on NXT 2.0: Tyler Bate vs JD McDonagh; Wendy Choo vs Cora Jade.
