WWE NXT News: Gold Rush Matches Announced, Women’s Speed Tournament, Joe Hendry Issues Challenge

Following last night’s WWE NXT episode, several announcements were made for both next week’s show and the two-week “Gold Rush” special that will take place on November 18 and 25:

  • The first wrestler in the ongoing WWE Speed Championship tournament is through to the finals. Zaria defeated Wren Sinclair on NXT to secure her spot in the finals that will take place during Gold Rush. She will face the winner of Fallon Henley and newcomer Skylar Raye, with that match taking place next week. Whoever wins the tournament will capture the WWE Speed title that was vacated by Sol Ruca last month.
  • TNA’s Director of Authority, Santino Marella, announced that Kelani Jordan will be forced to defend her TNA Knockouts Title at Gold Rush, facing a challenge from Jordynne Grace and Lei Ying Lee in a triple threat match.
  • NXT GM Ava informed NXT North American champion Blake Monroe that she will be defending her title at Gold Rush. If Sol Ruca is able to cleared in time by the brand’s medical personnel, she will be Monroe’s challenger given that Ruca is the former champion and technically did not lose the title after suffering an injury last month.
  • New AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions Ethan Page and Chelsea Green appeared on NXT and announced that they would be fighting champions ready to defend the belts against anyone. Joe Hendry interrupted their promo and noted that he’s interested in the mixed tag titles and would team up with Thea Hail to try and win them. It’s unclear when this match would take place, but presumably during one of the two Gold Rush episodes would make sense.
