WWE NXT Quick Recap (6/15/2021)

For those of you who want just the quick results , this is a quick recap of Tueday’s NXT show. Check out the latest happenings from the WWE’s black and gold brand:

Matches Tonight: Four

Our first match of the night was tag action that saw Breezango defeat Imperium. After the match, Imperium destroyed Breezango, 8:20-8:33pm EST.

Match Our second match saw Kushida successfully defend his Cruiserweight championship in yet another open challenge. This week’s opponent: Trey Baxter, formerly known as Blake Christian. 8:41-8:52pm EST.

Our third match saw Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez barely defeat KC2 in a highly-impressive match for Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter. KC2 has put in a lot of work to perfect their tag maneuvers and it shows. Best match of the night and certainly worth watching just to see the impressive double-team work KC2 has developed. 9:11-9:29pm EST

Our fourth and final match of the night saw the team of the Grizzled Young Veterans BLANK the team of Tommaso Ciampa & Timothy Thatcher. 9:47-10:11pm EST

Miscellaneous Non-Match Segments of Note:

General Manager William Regal’s Special Announcement: at first, Regal was prepared to retire until a returning Samoa Joe refused Regal’s offer to replace him as General Manager. Samoa Joe will not compete, but will instead serve as GM Regal’s enforcer.

The Million-Dollar Coronation: Ted DiBiase presented LA Knight with the title belt. Knight praised DiBiase and established himself as a huge DiBiase fan, expressing how important DiBiase was to his childhood and career. He then proceeded to beat the crap out of Ted DiBiase until Cameron Grimes made the save.

Io Shirai’s Address to the NXT Universe: Io didn’t get to say much other than she was back, before being jumped by Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell of the Way. Zoey Stark made the save.

News Worthy: Samoa Joe returned to NXT, and will now serve as General Manager William Regal’s enforcer.

Next Week on NXT: Kyle O’Reilly vs Kushida for the Cruiserweight Championship, Adam Cole vs an opponent to be announced next week.
