Show Opening

We get the “WWE Then, Now, Forever.” opening as the clock strikes 8:00p.m. Eastern Time and the Wednesday, March 10, 2021 edition of WWE NXT begins as we head into a promo with the commentary team, setting up tonight’s line-up!

We see the current NXT Champion, The Prince Finn Balor as he makes his way into the WWE Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, FL for tonight’s NXT. In split screen, we see former Undisputed Era leader, Adam Cole, making his way into the Capitol Wrestling Center as well, commentary begins by stating these two have a big match set for tonight.

“Two TakeOver-worthy title matches, first off we have the current NXT Champion, The Prince Finn Balor and Adam Cole going head to head for the title.” The screen then switches to a split screen of both Toni Storm and Io Shirai making their entrance into the WWE Capitol Wrestling Center earlier today as commentary notes Toni Storm vs. Io Shirai for the Women’s NXT Title is also set for tonight! We then head to the ring.

In-Ring – NXT General Manager William Regal With Two HUGE Announcements

As the opening run-down ends, we immediately head into the WWE Capitol Wrestling Center arena in Orlando, Florida as we see the huge black and gold “NXT” sign at the top of the stage. The camera then pans down the ramp and points directly into the ring where we see NXT General Manager William Regal standing with a microphone, waiting to make an announcement (as he informed us would take place on last week’s edition of WWE NXT).

“WrestleMania is always a special time here in WWE, and with that in mind I have two GAME CHANGING announcements for you,” William Regal begins. He waves his hand towards the screen as a video begins to play and he states, “The first…” the video continues to play showing the Full Sail University campus with the “NXT” logo in big gold letters on the outside of the building.

Video Package – NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver 2021 (April 7th & 8th)!!

A voice-over takes over commentary as it begins, “Seven years ago, NXT revolutionized the sports entertainment industry, and we haven’t looked back. From London to LA, Toronto to NY, WarGames to In Your House… when we TakeOver, NXT always delivers, now for the first time ever, a TakeOver so big, it has to be two nights. TakeOver Stand and Deliver Night One LIVE on the USA Network, April 7th, then TakeOver Stand and Deliver Night Two LIVE on the USA Network, April 8th!” The commentary ends by stating that when NXT says, “Stand and Deliver” they mean stand and deliver!

In-Ring Return To General Manager William Regal

As we return to the ring, William Regal is still standing with the microphone as the crowd is chanting, “NXT! NXT! NXT!” Regal adds, “NXT will continue the trend of making history. We will stand and deliver, and that includes tonight. I’ve asked the Women’s Division to join us tonight!” We then see all the woman standing in two separate lines on the sides of the ramp as Regal compliments the work-ethic and ability of these female superstars. Regal asks the 2021 Dusty Rhodes Women’s Tag-Team Classic winners Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez to join him inside the ring.

Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez Join William Regal Inside The Ring

Raquel and Dakota step out of line and make their way into the ring with General Manager William Regal. Regal begins as he states there was an injustice that came following Last Week’s Title Match of WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler vs. Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez which was set as the prize for winning the 2021 Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag-Team Classic. Regal continues on to state that he’s sick and tired of waiting for people to make decisions for him. With that, Regal steps over the a table covered in a red cloth as he addresses Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez.

Regal states that since Kai and Gonzalez won the 2021 Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag-Team Classic tournament, they are now the OFFICIAL NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions!! Regal then removes the cloth to unveil the two brand new incredibly shinny beautiful NXT Women’s Tag-Team championship belts!! The audience immediately breaks into an, “NXT! NXT! NXT!” chant as Gonzalez and Kai look at one another with huge smiles, both hesitant to pick up the belts at first as they are just in awe! As the NXT Women’s division begins to clap from either side of the ramp, Kai and Gonzalez pick up their titles, still smiling ear-to-ear.

Regal then adds, “From tonight, going forward, you are the NEW NXT Women’s Tag-Team Champions!” Finally able to gather thoughts and release them from her mouth as words, Kai gets on the mic, “This is insane!” The crowd begins a chant, “You deserve it! You deserve it!” As they quiet some, Kai then gets the attention of Regal.

Kai continues, “Mr. Regal, you’re right these are the toughest and most hard working women in the division,” as she looks over to the NXT Women on either side of the ramp. Kai then continues, “…and we plowed through each and every one of you! We beat you all!” Gonzalez adds, “Y’all better get used to this, because we are going to be carrying these for a VERY LOOONNGG time!”

Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon Join The Celebration

As Gonzalez ends her statement, we then hear from the back of the lines of the NXT Women’s Division, “Let us be the FIRST to congratulate you…” Shotzi begins. Ember states, “Yes, congratulations!” The two make their way to the ring as they mockingly over congratulate Gonzalez and Kai. As Ember and Shotzi enter the ring, they stand side by side across from the new champs as they continue on. Ember notes that Gonzalez and Kai DID in fact beat every team in their bracket of teams… but Moon and Blackheart did the exact same thing in their team bracket.

Blackheart backs Moon up, “Sure did, sure did.” Moon then continues on to state, “If we’re going to have champions, you’re going to need challengers.” The crowd pops. Moon finally gets down to the point and states that she and Blackheart want a shot at the brand new NXT Women’s Tag-Team Titles… TONIGHT! Blackheart and Moon stare down Kai and Gonzalez face-to-face as NXT General Manager William Regal makes the match OFFICIAL! Once again the crowd breaks into an “NXT! NXT! NXT!” chant to end the segment.

Announcer’s Table

Next we head to ringside as we see Vic Joseph who is sitting alongside Wade Barrett. Finally we see WWE Hall of Famer, Beth Phoenix as the three discuss tonight’s line-up and the actions that just took place inside the ring! The commentary team then hypes up the first official match of the evening before sending us back to the ring as the match is ready to get underway!

NXT Women’s Title Match
NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai vs. Toni Storm

As we head back over to the ring for the first official match-up of the evening, we see the arena go black and the strobe lights begin as the unique entrance theme music sounds over the speakers in the Capitol Wrestling Center arena in Orlando, FL. Io Shirai makes her way to the stage and poses before strutting and side stepping her way down the ramp and into the ring for tonight’s match-up. As Shirai enters the ring, the crowd pops! Shirai finishes her entrance as we head to commercial break!

As we return from the commercial break, Shirai is standing inside the ring as she awaits her opponent for tonight’s match up. We hear the entrance theme for Toni Storm sound over the speakers as Storm makes her way to the stage. Storm then makes her way down the ramp and enters the ring with her opponent, Io Shirai. At this point we hear the formal ring introductions and the referee signals for the bell.

The bell rings and the first match-up of the evening is officially underway! To start things off, we see a lot of back and forth action, not really amounting to much to start. Finally Storm takes things up a notch as she successfully sends Shirai out to the floor at ringside. As Storm makes her way to meet Shirai on the outside, Shirai cuts her short, meeting her on the apron. Shirai hits a Forearm on Storm. Storm is able to do the same in return.

The referee continues to count-out both members of the match as they brawl at ringside. As Shirai and Storm both make their way back into the ring, Shirai is able to evade a Kick from Storm and counters with a quick roll up as she looks for a quick victory. Storm is able to get her shoulder up at the two, continuing the match. With both women back to their feet, Shirai looks to maintain the offense as she lands a Dropkick, taking Storm out inside the ring!

Storm unable to make it back to her feet, we see Shirai drop down and quickly lock in an Abdominal Stretch on Storm in the center of the ring. Storm cries out in pain but refuses to tap! Frustrated at the inability to make Storm tap, Shirai releases the hold and then proceeds to attack Storm with Strikes to take Storm back to the canvas. Storm makes her way into the corner, which she uses to assist herself back to her feet. This doesn’t last long as Shirai immediately heads in and begins to Chop away on Storm! Storm somehow counters her way out of the corner as she hits a Whip sending Shirai into the corner at this point!

Storm then follows up by charging full force at Shirai who simply lifts Storm up and over, placing her on the apron! Shirai finishes by knocking Storm off the apron, sending Storm crashing to the ringside floor! Shirai looks to follow up with a Springboard Moonsault when suddenly Storm sensed the impeding doom, and grabbed the leg of Shirai, pulling her off the apron and onto the floor for a botched finishing move attempt! Storm takes advantage of the fall, and quickly gets back to her feet. Storm then follows up by assisting Shirai to her feet and sending her into the steel stairs at ringside as we head to commercial break!

Once again we return from the commercial break where we see that Shirai is still in control as the match continues. Shirai successfully lands the 619 on Storm at the ropes, following up with a Springboard Dropkick onto Storm from the apron! At this point, Shirai positions Storm for the cover, and Shirai covers crossbody as the referee begins the count, Storm is able to kick out at the two!

Shirai lands a Double Stomp on Storm as Storm attempts to gain control in the match up to no avail! Shirai then looks to head up top, but Storm quickly makes her way back to her feet and lands a Headbutt that rocks Shirai on the top turnbuckle. Storm then meets Shirai at the top and continues to land Strikes on Shirai. The two end up back inside the ring.
. Storm hits a massive Clothesline on Shirai, turning Shirai inside-out in the center of the ring! Storm quickly follows up with an Elbow Drop! Next. Shirai gets back to her feet and counters by sending Storm out of the ring to ringside! Shirai then looks to land a Moonsault onto Storm, but Storm is able to hit her Storm Zero first, getting the cover on Shirai. This looks like the end, but suddenly Shirai kicks out! A frustrated Storm immediately looks to finish the match, as she attempts a Diving Headbutt, to no avail as Shirai catches Storm and immediately proceeds to lock in a Crossface, forcing Storm to tap for the submission victory!

Winner and STILL NXT Women’s Champion: Io Shirai

After the Match

As the match comes to an end, we hear Shirai’s music sound over the speakers in the WWE Capitol Wrestling Center arena as Shirai holds the NXT Women’s title up in the air for a pop! With that, we then head to the replays and highlights from the match-up.

Backstage – The Prince Finn Balor

As we head backstage following the NXT Women’s Title Match that just completed in the ring, we see the current NXT MEN’S Champion, Finn Balor as he begins to speak. Balor states that tonight’s main event is going to be memorable one. Balor also calls out former Undisputed Era front-man, Adam Cole, who is also Balor’s opponent for tonight’s main event match-up. Balor ends his promo by promising Cole that tonight during the main event, he WILL beat him… just like he did last time.

Backstage Interview – LA Knight

As we return from the commercial break, we are backstage with McKenzie Mitchell as she welcomes her guest for her next interview, LA Knight. According to Mitchell, it was Knight who sought out Mitchell as Knight requested time to speak. According to Knight, his in-ring debut will happen next week, “if anyone can find enough tingle in their loins.”

Bronson Reed Attacks From Behind

As Knight continues his exaggerated hype of himself, we see Bronson Reed slowly sneak up behind LA Knight and suddenly ATTACKS! NXT Officials immediately rush in and in an attempt to seperate the two, officials step between both men!

Reed and Knight continue to yell at one another until finallty the NXT Officials separate them as they keep yelling at each other. Before taking off, Bronson Reed gives LA Knight well wishes and “good luck for next week’s debut” to which LA Knight notices the sarcasm and he looks to Reed and responds, “this isn’t Reed’s time, it’s LA’s time!”

Jake Atlas vs. Pete Dunne

At this point we return to the ring as we prepare for the next match-up of the evening here at the WWE Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida. We hear the entrance theme for Jake Atlas sound over the speakers as Atlas makes his way out to the stage. Atlas then heads down the ramp and enters the ring where he awawits his opponent for tonight’s match up.

Out next is Pete Dunne who is joined by the current NXT Tag Team Champions, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch who accompany Dunne down the ramp and towards the ring. At this point we hear the crowd begin to “Boo!” at the sight of the trio even being inside the arena. With both Dunne and Atlas standing in the center of the ring, the referee signals for the bell. The bell chimes and this match is officially underway! To start things off, Dunne takes immediate focus to the arm of Atlas as he manuevers and injures the same arm over and over. For a moment, Atlas successfully counters with the same hold, but Dunne immediately turns things back to the way the were and once again Dunne is in control. Finally we get some actual action as Atlas is taken down to the canvas by Dunne who then proceeds to stretch his fingers back one by one. Frantically, Atlas attempts to break free from Dunne’s hold, to no avail. Finally Atlas counters with an Arm Drag, only to be immediately taken right back down by Dunne. It seems Dunne is going to make this a ground and pound and/or submission match! Dunne maintains control with a few good spots by Atlas including a Hurricanrana at one point as well as another Arm Drag and a Springboard on Dunne.

After a brutal attack by Dunne inside the ring on Atlas, finally Dunne kicks Atlas in the back, much to the amusement of Lorcan and Burch at ringside who proceed to laugh. Another big Kick by Dunne gets the same reaction from Burch and Lorcan at ringside. After an attempt to gain some offense, Atlas attempts a cover on Dunne to no avail as Dunne kicks out at the two. Dunne drops Atlas again and again and again, finally telling him to “get back up!” Atlas complies and looks for a Tornado DDT but of course Dunne is a step ahead and gets the counter. Dunne once again goes to work on bending the fingers of Atlas and stretching the muscles of Atlas, finally forcing Atlas to submit for the win for Dunne!

Winner: Pete Dunne

After the Match

Immediately following the match, Pete Dunne is celebrating his victory as his music hits, though the fans do not share in the excitement as they loudly begin to shout, “BOOOO!!!”

As if that was their cue, Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan suddenly climb into the ring at the sound of the “BOOO!’s” to celebrate with Dunne as we head into the replays and highlights from the match up.

As we return from the replays, we head back into the ring where Pete Dunne has been handed a microphone as he apparently has something to say before he goes. Dunne begins by stating that this time of the year sees everyone attempting to “step up their game.” Dunne then points to Atlas and adds, “…this is what happens when you step up to me.”

Dunne then continues on to share that he may have made a name for himself in the UK, but make no mistake about it, Dunne is the best technical wrestler in the entire world. The crowd cleawrly doesn’t agree as they just begin to “BOO!” louder. To end the segment, Dunne states, “I dare someone to try and prove me wrong…” and drops the microphone. With that, he and Lorcan and Burch all head up the ramp as Dunne’s music sounds.

Backstage – Imperium Members

Next we head backstage where we come across Marcel Barthel, Fabian Aichner and Alexander Wolfe (all representing Imperium) who are all having a discussion. To start things off, Marcel informs Timothy (Thatcher) that they’ve noticed the whole world talking about them. He continues on to share with Timothy that a long time ago, they had created something special. He then tells Timothy that NO ONE else will be able to represent what THEY created, in a way like Thatcher was able to.

Marcel continues on to share with Thatcher that he believes Thatcher should take his rightful spot and take what has always been ours. Aichner then adds that they are here for Thatcher, they’re doing this all for him! Backstage – Both Women’s Tag-Teams

As we head backstage, we see Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai walking towards the main stage as they prepare for their first EVER title defense for the NXT Women’s Tag-Team Titles! With that, we head to commercial.

Promo – Leon Ruff

As we return from the commercial break, we immediately head into a video recorded “Earlier Today” inside the parking lot of the WWE Capitol Wrestling Center Arena where Leon Ruff addresses Isiah “Swerve” Scott. Ruff tells Swerve that once again, next week he will be holding Swerve down in another Ruff Landing.

NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles Match
Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart vs. Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez

As we head back into the ring inside the WWE Capitol Wrestling Center arena in Orlando, Florida, we are getting set up for the first-EVER NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles match as inaugural champions Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez (winners of the 2021 Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag-Team Classic Tournament) make their way to the stage as their entrance themes sound. Kai and Gonzalez then make their way down the ramp and enter the ring for their match-up! The crowd “Boo’s!”

Out next are the tag-team of Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon as they make their way out on Blackheart’s mini-tank as the crowd begins to cheer and roar for the team as they make their way down the ramp and towards the ring. With both teams inside the ring, this match-up is officially announced. The referee signals for the bell, the bell rings and here we go with the first NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship Match-Up!!

To start things off, we see Ember Moon in for her team and Dakota Kai in first for her team as Moon rushes in and hits a Dropkick on Kai for the first connect of the match up! Kai immediately Strikes back and follows up with Kicks to Moon who is now in the corner of the ring against the turnbuckles. At this point we see Shotzi Blackheart put her hand in to be tagged, Moon complies as she slaps Blackhearts hand. Shotzi immediately heads into the ring and goes after Dakota Kai. Shotzi is able to get Dakota locked into her Cloverleaf submission.

Kai struggles and winces as she slowly makes her way closer to the bottom rope, crawling and pulling to get there without being forced to tap! Shotzi notices how close Kai is getting to the bottom rope, so Shotzi quickly grabs and pulls Kai back to the middle of the ring and tightens it. Kai shouts in pain, but Blackheart finally releases the hold after a few minutes and no tap, Blackheart ready to do this a different way. With both women back to their feet, they both run and go for Kicks but collide mid-air and both drop to the canvas as we head to commercial break.

As we return from the commercial break, we see Shotzi has maintained control for the most part and we see Raquel Gonzalez tagging back in (as she had tagged in once during the “picture in picture” commercial break). We see Gonzalez lock in a bear hug in the middle of the ring now on Blackheart. Gonzalez levels Blackheart after releasing her from the Bear Hug. At this point, we see Kai tag back in for a quick Double Team action with Shotzi Blackheart getting the brunt of it all. Somehow, Shotzi still manages to kick out of the pin attempt at the two!

At this point we see Kai make her way back to her feel to hit a Big Kick on Blackheart. Shotzi counters with a Step Up Enzuguri followed by a tag to Moon who is itching to make her way into the match! As the tag is made, Moon immediately climbs in under the rope and runs full force towards Kai, taking her down inside the ring, then following up by knocking Gonzalez off the apron to the floor at ringside. The crowd pops. Moon then turns her attention back to Kai who has made her way back to her feet, and Moon lands a Seated Senton followed by a Dropkick. We then see Gonzalez enter the ring looking to get a cheap shot on Moon to assist her partner, Dakota Kai to no avail.

Moon counters as she hits a Cutter from the corner of the ring. Gonzalez quickly grabs Kai and pulls her out of the way just in time to keep her safe. Kai is on the floor at ringside at this point. We then see Blackheart enter the ring, running the ropes for a Suicide Dive to take out Gonzalez directly in front of the commentary team at ringside. At this point we see Moon assist Kai back to the apron, rolling her in and then re-entering the ring herself. As she stands up, Kai is waiting with a Clothesline attempt, Moon is able to evade and quickly rolls her up for the two count! The match continues. Gonzalez hits a Big Slam, taking Moon to the canvas for the cover.

Blackheart immediately runs in and breaks the cover before quickly running back to ringside for safety from Gonzalez. Moon is able to break out of a move from Gonzalez just in time to make the tag to Blackheart who enters the ring and automatically goes for a Missile Dropkick to both champions respectively, followed by a DDT that sends Gonzalez to ringside. Blackheart and Kai go back and forth inside the ring. Blackheart lands an Exploder Suplex for the cover on Kai, but Kai isn’t ready to give up yet and she kicks out at the two! At this point, Ember is up on the apron and stretching in for the tag, but first she holds Kai on the rope as Blackheart uses the assist to hit a Running Senton. Blackheart tags in Moon. As she enters the ring, Moon lands a Springboard Splash from the side of the ring back into the ring as she goes for the cover. Kai kicks out at the two. At this point, Blackheart tags back in to double team Kai with Moon. They hit the big double team slam and Blackheart gets the cover. Gonzalez suddenly appears, breaking the pin-fall attempt just in time. Gonzalez locks in a Sleeper. Moon tries to assist her teammate by going for the Eclipse on Gonzalez, to no avail. Kai gets ran into Gonzalez, which sends Kai and Moon tumbling over the top rope to the floor. Blackheart takes advantage of this and quickly follows up with a Suplex followed by a Bridge for the three count pin and win on Kai!

Winners and New NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions: Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart

After the Match

Immediately following the match, we see Blackheart and Moon inside the ring celebrating their brand new titles as their music hits and we head to replays! We hear the crowd chant “NXT! NXT! NXT!” as the new champions celebrate their victory together inside the ring.

Backstage – Adam Cole

Next we head backstage where former Undisputed Era member Adam Cole is standing and discussing what he informed Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly of by stating how he reminded both of them just who the leader of The Undisputed Era really was, and still is. Cole continues on and says, “the group is dead when I say it’s dead,: Cole then concludes that as far as he’s concerned… he simply got rid of the dead weight that was holding Undisputed Era down.

After that, Cole turns his focus to the current NXT Champion, The Prince Finn Balor. Cole states to Balor if he’s listening, which Cole is sure he is, that Balor’s NEXT title reign will be a lot more special than the one before. That ends the segment.

Quick Announcement

Before we head to commercial break, we are reminded about the upcoming Xia Li vs. Kayden Carter. We head to break!

Backstage – NEW NXT Women’s Tag-Team Champions Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon

As we return from the commercial break, we see the brand-new NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions… Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart! As the two new champs make their way through the walk through the backstage area, they are being congratulated by each person that they walk by. We can see that the NXT Women’s Division all appear to be genuinely happy for them and their success. That is… all except Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell of The Way who simply aren’t impressed as they proceed to stare the new champs down. LeRae’s husband, NXT North American Champion Johnny Gargano walks up at this point along with his friend and The Way partner, Austin Theory.

Theory starts off by asking Gargano why he paid the doctor off last week? Gargano begins shouting about Dexter Lumis and why he had to do what he did. In reaction to the shouting, Theory immediately starts crying but tells Gargano he’s ok, he’s just angry. With his feelings showing, Gargano tries to nudge Theory in the direction of turning against Lumis, but making Theory believe it was his own doing!

Theory is now in a rage as he proceeds to tear his shirt and says he can’t take this anymore! Theory informs Gargano that Lumis took things TOO FAR (in regards to Lumis’s statement about Theory’s “mediocre abs”.) With that, Theory storms off. Hartwell and Gargano chase after him.

Video Package

We head to the announcer’s table where they send us into a video package highlighting the WWE and Girl Up for Women’s History Month!

Xia Li vs. Kayden Carter

At this point we go back to the ring for the next match up of the evening. We notice that Kayden Carter has already made her entrance and is waiting inside the ring for her opponent. Out next is Xia Li along with Mei Ling and Boa, all representing Tian Sha. Li and Boa walk down the ramp as Mei watches from her throne on the top of the stage. When we get to the ring, Boa removes Li’s headdress and she does a quick performance with a sai as her music continues to play, As it ends, the lights return and both competitors stand in their corners respectively. With both competitors inside the ring, the referee signals for the bell.

The bell rings and our next match up is officially underway! Li gets the first Strike, however it’s Carter who is able to land multiple Kicks to make her way out of the corner of the ring. The match continues as the two go back and forth with the action! Li drops Carter with a Back Elbow and then follows up with a Kick that sends Carter down to the canvas. Carter counters Li as she successfully lands a Jawbreaker on Li and follows up with a Shoulder Shove that sends Li to the canvas this time! Li makes her way back to her feet as she looks to take out Carter inside the ring.

At this point, Carter lands a massive Clothesline on Li which turns her inside out and immediately results in a pop from the crowd inside the arena! This hypes Carter up more as the match continues. The match continues on as we again get back and forth action until finally Carter lands a massive Kick to the jaw of Li who is taken down. Carter follows up with a Running Boot to the face for a 2 count. Li sort of suckers Carter in and kicks her leg out as the referee provides a distraction.

Kacy Catanzaro Appears

Suddenly out of nowhere we see Kayden Carter’s tag-team partner and friend, the injured Kacy Catanzaro appears at ringside, on crutches, as she tries to assist Carter by cheering her on. Li just continues to keep control in the match, ignoring Kacy. At this point we see Carter sent into the turnbuckles as Li launches her across the ring. Li immediately follows up with a Stomp to Carter’s leg over and over and over again. In response we see Carter is in pain as she shouts out on the apron, directly in front of her friend, Catanzaro. Li taunts Catanzaro as she positions Carter’s leg on the turnbuckles to injure her further. Luckily, Catanzaro makes the save as she uses her crutch as a weapon, forcing the referee to call for the disqualification, announcing Xia Li the victor in tonight’s match up.

Winner by DQ: Xia Li

After the Match

Immediately following the match, we see Kacy Catanzaro as she she limps into the ring and once again unloads on Li with multiple crutch shots, taking her down in the corner while yelling about how she’s taken this too far. At this point, we see Boa enter the ring as she proceeds to grab the crutch out of the air when Catanzaro swings it.

Boa then snaps it and fans begin to boo. On the top of the stage we see Mei stand up and deliver a signal to Boa to “end this”. Carter quickly makes the save by hitting Boa over the back with the other crutch. On that note, Carter and Catanzaro quickly retreat together to get away as fast as possible. Commentary then sends us into the replays. As we return, we happen to see Li and Boa bow to Mei on the stage.

Pre-Recorded Promo – Jordan Devlin

Next we head into a a video that was pre-recorded earlier today, a promo from the other NXT Cruiserweight Champion, NXT UK Superstar Jordan Devlin. Devlin starts off as he talks about the big two-night “Takeover: Stand and Deliver” event that is coming up. He then reveals that his travel ban has been lifted. He says that’s bad news for NXT Cruiserweight Champion Santos Escobar. Devlin continues on to inform Escobar that he’s coming to NXT next week and they will find out who the true Cruiserweight Champion is. To end the segment, Devlin zooms out to show us that he’s at an airport and is ready to travel back to NXT! Things are getting good people! We head to commercial break!

Vignette – Zoey Stark

As we return from the break and we get a vignette highlighting Zoey Stark. Stark begins as she discusses growing up “on the wrong side of the tracks” and how she always appreciated having wrestling as her escape as to not get herself into too much trouble at that time.

Next, the video shows the current NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai, who makes an appearance to praise Stark after their recent match where Shirai showed a mutual respect in an embrace following the match. Stark then continues on about getting into the business at a rather young age and how making it to WWE, was just simply “mind-blowing” in her opinion, but she appreciates it just the same and will prove that she deserves to be there. Stark then states she’s putting everyone else in the women’s division on notice. She ends by stating hard work pays off and there is no limit.

Backstage – NXT Cruiserweight Champion Santos Escobar

As we head backstage, we see Santos Escobar arguing with NXT General Manager William Regal. Escobar is arguing regarding the statements made from Jordan Devlin in the promo that aired just moments ago. Escobar goes on about how he’s the real Cruiserweight Champion, not Devlin.

At this point, we see Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde come to get him as their music starts in the arena. Escobar tells them to go ahead and defend the honor of Legado del Fantasma while he deals with this. He goes back to ranting to Regal while Wilde and Mendoza head to the ring.

Legado del Fantasma vs. The Grizzled Young Veterans

We head back inside the Capitol Wrestling Center arena as we prepare for the next match up of the evening. As we are ready to begin, out first comes Raul Mendoza who is quickly followed up by Joaquin Wilde, both representing Legado del Fantasma, make their way down the ramp and enter the ring where they await their opponents. Out next are James Drake and Zack Gibson representing the Grizzled Young Veterans. As they enter the ring, they immediately begin to take shots at Wilde and Mendoza, and brag about putting MSK out of action. With that, the referee signals for the bell. The bell rings, and the next match up of the evening is officially underway!

To start things off, we see Gibson enter for his corner and Mendoza enter for his corner as the two meet in the center of the ring and proceed to trade holds to begin the match. As Gibson finally gains control in the match-up, we see Gibson make the tag to Drake. As Drake makes his way into the ring, Gibson also stays inside the ring for some quick Double Team action on Mendoza! Mendoza does his best to fight off Gibson and Drake, then nails a Dropkick. Next we see Wilde make the tag as he enters into the ring and now THEY take it to Double Team action temporarily. The referee warns for Mendoza to step out of the ring. Wilde is able to drop Drake for the cover, but only gets the two count as the match continues.

Breezango Enters
At this point we suddenly get the entrance for Breezango which temporarily distracts Wilde as Tyler Breeze and Fandango make their way to the stage, and then down the ramp towards the ring. With the distraction causing confusion around him, Drake quickly takes advantage of the distraction and immediately hits an Enzuguri to take him down. We see the men wearing astronaut suits stop at ringside and take their helmets off. It’s MSK!! MSK caused the distraction, NOT Breezango! This causes a distraction for Drake who is attempting to figure out what the hell is going on when Wilde quickly takes advantage of the confusiuon and rolls him for the three count pin and win!

Winners: Legado del Fantasma

After the match

Immediately following the match, we see The Grizzled Young Veterans walk over to MSK at ringside. We then see MSK as they proceed to assault The Grizzled Young Veterans with the helmets they were wearing just moments ago. It is noted that Gibson’s arm is clearly injured in the same way they did to Wes Lee several weeks ago!

At this point we see the REAL Breezango as they make their way into the ring where they proceed to attack Legado del Fantasma from behind. This causes a pop from the fans in the arena, they cheer Breezango on as they take Wilde and Mendoza out, clearing the ring. MSK joins Breezango in the ring for a celebration now as the two teams dance.

Backstage Interview – NEW NXT Women’s Tag-Team Champions Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai

Once again we head backstage where McKenzie is with Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai. They aren’t happy about losing the titles… but to put a positive spin on it, at least they were the first-EVER NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions, right?

At this point we see NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai as she walks in and simply stares at Raquel Gonzalez who is mockingly smiling at her. Without breaking her stare, Shirai states she wants Gonzalez next. Gonzalez stares her down and responds, “Be careful what you wish for.” That ends the confrontation.

Backstage – Adam Cole and Finn Balor

As we head backstage, we see Adam Cole and Finn Balor walking in two different areas of the backstage as we head to the commercial break.

Backstage Interview – Timothy Thatcher

As we return from the commercial break, we once again head to McKenzie Mitchell who is standing backstage with Timothy Thatcher who is waiting to be interviewed regarding Imperium’s plan to take over. It is also noted that they want to recruit he and Tommaso Ciampa.

But before Thatcher can even get a word in edgewise, Tommaso Ciampa walks up and he immediately announces that he doesn’t know what Thatcher is thinking, but he IS NOT interested in teaming with Imperium, but he is interested in a shot at The General, NXT UK Champion WALTER, who sits safely across the pond while his troops do the work.

That is intriguing to Ciampa. He goes on and says what does sound good is a tag team match with he and Thatcher vs. Imperium next week. Ciampa walks off and Thatcher thinks it over.

Quick Announcement – Next Week

We get a quick announcement informing us that next week we have a match set up with Leon Ruff vs. Isaiah “Swerve” Scott, also on the card is Dexter Lumis vs. Austin Theory, and finally we will be graced with the in-ring debut of LA Knight, who will likely go up against the likes of Bronson Reed.

NXT Title Match
Adam Cole vs. Finn Balor

As we return to the ring for the MAIN EVENT match up of the evening for the NXT Championship, we first hear the entrance theme for Adam Cole as Cole makes his way to the stage. Cole is “Boo’ed” by the crowd as he makes his way down the ramp and enters the ring for tonight’s match up as he awaits his opponent. Out next comes the current NXT Champion, The Prince, Finn Balor!! Balor makes his way down the ramp and enters the ring where Cole is alreadty standing. We hear the formal ring announcement and introductions before the referee signals for the bell. The bell rings and here we go with our MAIN EVENT match up!

To start things off, Cole and Balor immediately head in at one another a explode with Strikes and Blows as the two unload on one another! The crowd is eating this up as they shout and cheer the match on! Finally we see the first take-down as Cole is able to drop The Prince with a Shoulder and Cole immediately follows up with a cover. Balor immediately kicks out at the two and the match continues! Both men make their way back to their feet. At this point we get some more back and forth between the two until finally Balor successfully applies a Headlock on Cole inside the ring!

Somehow, Cole turns it around and gets behind Balor as he gets a Headlock of his own, taking Balor down to the the canvas inside the ring with Cole. The back & forth continues as they wrestle to their feet. Cole looks to go for a kick but Balor is ready for it and he changes his mind. They face off again as we go to a picture-in-picture commercial break. They lock back up and Balor goes to work on the arm. They go back to the mat with Balor keeping control, focusing on the arm. Cole breaks free and sends Balor down. Cole goes to work on Balor’s arm now. With that, we head to commercial break!

As we return from the break we see that Adam Cole is in control of this match-up for the moment as he is continuously striking and beating Balor around the ring. Cole powers Balor into the corner where he then proceeds to stomps away while Balor is down. Finally we see Balor get an opportunity to counter with a Dropkick and he immediately takes his opening to allow himself to break free and re-assess the situation. Balor ties Cole up and grounds him with another submission in the center of the ring, but Cole is able to break free and get back to his feet. That just forces Balor to once again take Cole back down to the canvas like a frustrated child in time out.

At this point, Balor immediately takes Cole right back down with a Modified Sleeper attempt and that’s where it’s at as they both make their way back to their feet. As Balor goes for Cole’s arm, Cole retaliates with a Knee to the gut (ouch!) Once again both men make their way back to their feet and Balor immediately lands a Clothesline that levels Cole, but just as quickly, Cole makes his way back to his standing position but Cole sends him through the ropes to the floor. Balor comes right back to the apron and again Cole drops him.

Next we see Cole as he grabs The Prince off the apron where he proceeds to launch him into the barrier! With both men on the outside of the ring, the referee has no choice but to begin the count-out, “1… 2… 3…” As the referee gets to the 6, Cole successfully rolls Balor back in to the ring and then immediately rolls in himself after. With both men back to their feet, the match continues inside the ring. Cole grabs Balor to whip him across the ring and into the ropes, but instead Balor hits the turnbuckle with a lot of force and quickly goes down… hard. More back and forth action until Balor finally comes back with a Double Stomp to the chest of Balor. Luckily, Balor catches one of Adam’s leg’s and takes Cole out with an Enzuguri!

At this point, Balor is able to work over Cole for a while inside the ring, maintaining control of the match up! Cole ends up down as the referee warns him. Cole rolls to the floor for a breather as the referee argues with Balor. Cole takes advantage and pulls Balor to the ropes, and immediately hits a Pump Kick! After that, we see Cole as he separates the steel ring steps and breaks the count.

Cole then brings Balor out to ringside as he looks to finish this match but apparently dropping Balor on his head on top of the steel below? That’s pretty dark. Luckily at this point, Balor is able to counter as he hits a Suplex which drops Cole back onto the bottom of the ramp at ringside. At this point, both competitors go down now as we head to the final commercial break of the evening.

We return to the ring as we see Balor locks in the Cloverleaf submission on Cole. Cole struggles across the ring, but is able to get to the bottom rope, which forces Balor to break the hold. At this point, Cole gets back to his feet and immediately rocks Balor with a Back Elbow to the JAW! After that, the two men proceed to exchange blows and Strikes back and forth in the center of the ring as the fans begin to chant, “NXT! NXT! NXT!” Finally we see Cole land a Pump Kick. on Balor who counters with an Overhead Kick of his own!

Next we see The Prince look got his 1916 as he looks to finish the match but is countered as Cole lands a Brainbuster to Balor. Cole immediately follows up with a pin-fall attempt, Balor kicks out at 2. Cole looks for his Panama Sunrise but Balor successfully blocks the attempt. Next we see Balor as he looks to go to the top for a Coup de Grace… but Cole quickly side-steps and Balor lands on his feet. Finally, Cole locks in a Crossface submission now on Balor who tries to crawl for the bottom rope. Cole grabs Balor and drags him back to the center of the ring, once again tightening thre hold on Balor!

As Balor is able to break free from the hold, he quickly looks for a submission of his own, but Cole is able to reverse the attempt before Balor can even fully lock it in. Cole then once again applies the Cross-face to Balor once again. Balor is able to make his way to the bottom rope to force break it.. (Cole takes advantage of the FULL 5 count from the referee, who warns him). At this point, Cole makes his awy back to his feet. Balor as well, and Balor turns Cole inside out with a big Clothesline!

We see Balor hit his 1916 attempt once again, and again, Cole is able to counter. Cole then Superkicks the knee of Balor who immediately goes down to one knee. At this point, we see Cole run at Balor and looks for The Last Shot to the jaw of Balor for the cover. Balor luckily still kicks out just in time. Fans begin a “This Is Awesome!” chant in response to the action in this match up! Cole is simply stunned at the fact Balor was able to kick out, he’s not sure where to go from here. At this point, Cole goes for Panama Sunrise which he does, and drops Balor directly on his head. Cole once again goes for the cover, but to his shock, Balor STILL kicks out.

Cole is shocked. Cole gets up first as Balor keeps one palm cradling his jaw, which appears to be injured from Cole. They two run the ropes at which point Balor successfully throws Cole over the top rope and spills him onto the floor as a desperation move. Balor goes back down on the mat to regroup inside the ring. The referee begins the count-out on Cole.

Kyle O’Reilly Appears

Suddenly out of NOWHERE we see who else but KYLE O’REILLY standing in the crowd, apparently stalking Adam Cole. Cole looks horrified as if he’s seen his worst nightmare looking back at him from the crowd. Balor takes advantage of the fearful distraction and quickly flies over the ropes to take down Cole at ringside. At this point, Balor quickly glances over at O’Reilly who is still in the crowd. Balor finishes up with his 1916 on the floor before he follows up by bringing Cole back into the ring and hits the Coup de Grace for the pin and the three count! That’s the match!

Winner and STILL NXT Champion: Finn Balor

After the Match

Immediately following the match we hear the music for The Prince Finn Balor as he celebrates his victory by sitting up in the corner of the ring, holding his title as he attempt to regain his breathing and recover a little.

Adam Cole Tries To Recover In-Ring

Next the camera pans over to Adam Cole who is also trying to recover at this point. We see Kyle O’Reilly make his way over to the ring as he enters the ring and kneels down at Cole. Cole proceeds to plead with Kyle and apologize for what he’s done. Cole makes his way to his knees as he continues to plead with O’Reilly when suddenly Cole attempts to hit a low blow! O’Reilly knows better and quickly catches Cole’s arm. O’Reilly holds Cole’s arm and takes off Cole’s Undisputed Era arm band. O’Reilly kicks Cole in the face and unloads on him until Cole ends up in the corner of the ring.

Referees Look To Break Things Up

At this point, the referee attempts to break it up as Cole retreats to the floor. O’Reilly follows and continues to strike and kick Cole over and over. At this point, referee Drake Younger comes from behind to stop them but O’Reilly shoves him to the ground. O’Reilly goes back to work on Cole, launching him into the barrier. O’Reilly yells at Cole, blaming him for all this and for trying to end his career. O’Reilly goes to drop Cole on the steel steps with the Brainbuster, like Cole did to him weeks ago, but officials stop him.

Cole Retreats Up The Ramp

Cole retreats up the ramp but O’Reilly runs and jumps on him. Officials try to break it up again but Cole heads to the back with O’Reilly chasing him.

Karrion Kross Appears In-Ring

We go back to the ring and Balor is standing there with the NXT Title, watching what just happened. Karrion Kross suddenly appears at his side. Balor asks what took him so long. NXT goes off the air with Balor and Kross staring each other down face to face.
