WWE NXT RESULTS (04/13/2021)

Show Opening

We kick off the Tuesday, April 13, 2021 edition of WWE NXT as we head into the WWE Capitol Wrestling Center located in Orlando, Florida for the fall out following WWE NXT TakeOver Stand and Deliver (Night 1 & 2)!

In-Ring NXT Champion Karrion Kross (w/ Scarlett Boudreaux)

The Capitol Wrestling Center is all black with a only the light of a white “Z” on the screen at the top of the stage, surrounded by smoke as a black crow is flying forward. The crowd is chanting, “N-X-T! N-X-T!” and fades as the entrance theme for Kross begins playing over the speakers in the arena. A hooded figure appears in the center of the “X” as the silhouette of Karrion Kross with the NXT Championship steps in front of the hooded Scarlett and into view. The lights come up and Karrion stands still as Scarlett steps out from behind him, and begins singing the opening theme as she rubs across his shoulder and the NXT belt. “The end is here…. fall and prey… fall and prey… FALL AND PREYYY….”

At this point Karrion Kross enters the ring in his street attire as red lights begin to flash all around him and Kross shouts as Scarlett circles him and finally kneels in front of him as the last beats of the song are pounded against the chest of Karrion Kross and “NEW NEXT Champion – Karrion Kross (with Scarlett)” appears across the bottom of the screen.

We are then officially welcomed to tonight’s edition of WWE NXT as Vic Joseph states this is the new NXT on Tuesday nights. Back inside the ring, Scarlett hands Karrion Kross the microphone. “Kar-ri-on! Kar-ri-on!” begins chanting from the crowd. Kross smiles as he lifts the mic to his face and begins, “I told you… time, always comes… full circle!” The crowd begins with a “You deserve it! You deserve it!” chant. Kross continues on, “It was only a matter of time before i was standing back in this ring. MY ring. With this title… MY TITLE. As the NXT Champion.” The crowd claps. Kross continues, “As for Mr. Balor, without a shadow doubt, one of the greatest to ever step into this ring, of all time.”

Kross continues on, “Everywhere he’s ever gone, championships have followed.” The crowd continues to shout at Kross, “You guys are rowdy tonight…” he notes to the crowd who all respond with, “FALL AND PREY! FALL AND PREY!” Kross continues on to discuss Balor, stating Balor thought Kross’s emotions were a weakness. But Kross then informs the NXT roster that he has learned how to make his weaknesses his strengths and he controls EVERYTHING. Kross basically dares anyone in NXT to give it a go at his title. Kross then says that if you want this (holds up NXT Championship Title)… “come and get it”. Kross ends his rant stating that he will destroy every challenger who comes at him.

Announcer’s Table (At Ringside)

As the NEW NXT Champion makes his exit, we head right beside the ring to the announcer’s table where we see Vic Joseph seated next to Wade Barrett, and WWE Hall of Famer, Beth Phoenix. Vic Joseph then begins as he states that WWE’s NXT Stand & Deliver two-night special event was the most-watched Takeover, EVER!

At this point, the commentary team begin to point out different parts of the TakeOver event as we head into highlights from NXT Takeover: “Stand and Deliver”. The highlights include Karrion Kross defeating Finn Balor to gain the WWE’s NXT Championship, MSK becoming the new NXT Tag Team Champions, Walter retaining the NXT UK Championship over Tommaso Ciampa, Kyle O’Reilly defeating Adam Cole, Johnny Gargano retaining over Bronson Reed, Santos Escobar becoming the UNDISPUTED NXT Cruiserweight Champion, and finally, Raquel Gonzalez becoming the new NXT Women’s Champion over Io Shirai!

Quick Announcement

We are then informed that later tonight NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez will speak for the first time since winning her title, and we’ll see exclusive footage of the aftermath of Cole Vs. O’Reilly.

The NXT Tag Team Champions, MSK, come to the ring. They’ll be making their first defense of the titles after the break.

As we return to the announcer’s table, the commentary team begin to give us a run-down of tonight’s card and expectations for tonight’s show. They then turn the attention back over to the main stage as the entrance theme for MSK begins.

NXT Tag-Team Championship Match
Killian Dain & Drake Maverick vs. MSK

We head to the top of the stage as the entrance theme for MSK continues to play, and the NEW NXT Tag-Team Champions make their way out to the stage. They then make their way down the ramp and enter the ring as we head to commercial break!

As we return from the commercial break, the entrance for Killian Dain and Drake Maverick has already been completed and the referee signals for the bell. The bell rings, signifying the beginning of the first official match-up of tonight’s edition of NXT as Killian Dain and Nash Carter start things off inside the ring as the two legal opponents in. To start the action, Carter looks for a Kick, but Dain sees it coming and quickly catches Carter’s leg mid-air and he immediately takes down Carter. Dain then turns to his corner and makes the tag to his partner, Drake Maverick. This leads Carter to tag in Wes Lee as well. As the action continues, we see both Lee and Maverick run the ropes, getting multiple strikes in on both sides.

Next we see Maverick make his way up to the top turnbuckle as he looks to take down Wes Lee inside the ring. Maverick flies and lands on Lee, looking for a quick pin attempt; Carter kicks out at the one to continue the match at this point. After that Wes Lee makes the tag to his partner, Nash Carter. Carter returns to the ring and looks for some action as he lands a Bronco Buster on Drake inside the ring for a take down. Maverick attempts to hold his own, but finally he reluctantly makes his way to his corner to tag in Dain once again. Killian Dain immediately heads in and takes Carter out as we head to the second commercial break of the evening!

As we return from the commercial break, we immediately return to the ring where the action is still going strong between Nash and Maverick. Nash runs at Maverick and lands a Knee Strike, then quickly follows up with a Lariat as Maverick stands in the corner of the ring. Next we see Nash baseball slides Dain off the apron and then immediately follows up by slamming Maverick inside the ring. At this point Nash heads over to his corner where he tags in Lee. Lee hits a Standing Shove Moonsault to start his action in the ring once again. Lee quickly goes for the cover while Dain is still down, but Dain makes it into the ring in time to break the pin-fall attempt to continue the match.

Dain then follows up by dragging a near-lifeless Maverick to their corner so he can legally make the tag-in to the match. Dain successfully tags in and quickly goes after both Lee and Carter, grabbing both members of MSK and hoisting them up onto his shoulders. Both Lee and Carter kick and wiggle their way free from the grasp of Dain where they proceed to attack Dain with multiple Strikes to the body. The referee points to MSK’s corner telling one of them to return to the apron. Lee follows Carter to the corner, allowing Carter to tag in and enter the ring with Dain. Carter lands a Drop Toe Hold to Dain, sending him into the turnbuckles. At this point, Lee hits a 619 around the ring post and Nash quickly follows it up with a Superkick to send Dain to the canvas.

Lee goes for a cover, but Dain is luckily able to kick out and continue the match. Lee and Dain go back and forth at this point, Lee landing a Senton for yet another pin attempt on Dain. Dain once again kicks out and at this point we see Lee head over to the MSK corner and tag in Carter. Carter immediately looks for a Sunset Flip, but he is NOT moving the big body of Dain that easily! Lee tries to assist Carter for the Sunset Flip, but Dain sees Lee coming and catches him to hit a Michonoku Driver sending Lee right onto Carter. All the action in the ring gets Drake Maverick all hyped up and he heads into the ring at this point.

Maverick and Dain then double team MSK as they land Stereo Kicks that are followed by a Powerbomb from Dain to Lee. Dain then turns his attention to Carter as he looks to Powerbomb Drake onto Carter, but Lee quickly heads in for the save, dragging Carter out of the way just in time! Finally, we see Lee counter the action on Killian Dain as he lands a Springboard Cutter sending Dain from the ring, Maverick is left all alone with both Lee and Carter! Maverick is left on the wrong end of a Spinebuster for the three count pin and win for MSK!

Winners and STILL NXT Tag-Team Champions: MSK

After The Match

Immediately following the match, MSK exit the ring as they celebrate their victory heading up the ramp. Killian Dain returns to the ring too little too late, but still checks on his partner, Drake Maverick, who was injured in the final moments before MSK’s victory pin. Dain is trying to assist Maverick back to his feet, when suddenly Alexander Wolfe appears out of nowhere. As Alexander Wolfe looks to conversate with Dain, suddenly Imperium members Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel come in from behind and attack him! Aichner and Barthel ultimately exit the ring, but not before delivering a message to Dain that he won’t soon forget!

NXT General Manager’s Office

Next we head backstage just as Robert Stone and his client, Aliyah, are shown walking through the halls of the Capitol Wrestling Center earlier today as they walk up to the NXT General Manager, William Regal’s office door. Regal allows them into the office where Robert Stone proceeds to discuss getting Aliyah a title shot when suddenly Mercedes Martinez appears and grabs Aliyah by the throat! Martinez then looks to Stone, asking “Where is my money??” Stone stumbles and fumbles all over an explanation until suddenly Jessi Kamea enters the office and quickly breaks up the situation.

This leads to Mercedes Martinez turning the tables and asking Jessi Kamea if she wants to step up or something, to which Kamea replies she absolutely does. Mercedes then informs Kamea that she can try… later tonight. On that note, we head to commercial break.

TakeOver: Stand And Deliver (Night 2) Video Recap – O’Reilly vs. Cole

As we return from the commercial break, we immediately are set up for and sent into a video of highlights from NXT TakeOver: “Stand and Deliver (Night Two)” where former Undisputed Era members Kyle O’Reilly and Adam Cole went head-to-head in an Unsanctioned Match.

We then get a look into what happened after the match, where Adam Cole was placed on an ambulatory stretcher and immediately taken to the nearest hospital by ambulance. Coincidentally, Kyle O’Reilly also collapsed as he made it to the backstage area, and he too was then whisked away by ambulance to the hospital. Luckily, an NXT camera crew followed them to the hospital and we get a glimpse of both former Undisputed Era members being wheeled wheeled into hospital side-by-side and Cole kept shouting at O’Reilly that he’s going to kill him.

Mercedes Martinez vs. Jessi Kamea (w/ Robert Stone & Aliyah)

As we return to the inside of the Capitol Wrestling Center arena following the video package on Cole and O’Reilly, we see that the next match is getting set up in the ring as the entrance for both competitors, Martinez made her way to the ring alone to her entrance theme and Jessi Kamea is accompanied by both Robert Stone and Aliyah during her entrance to the ring. With both competitors in the ring, the referee moves to the center of the ring and signals for the bell. The bell rings and out next match up is officially underway! To start off the action, as soon as the bell chimes, Mercedes immediately sprints forward towards Kamea, but Kamea is ready for Martinez as she ultimately takes Martinez down with multiple Forearm blows to Martinez.

Next we see Kamea whip Martinez into the ropes and as Martinez returns, Kamea follows up with a Dropkick that sends Martinez to the canvas! As Martinez attempts to roll to the corner to use the turnbuckles to assist her back to her feet, Kamea rushes over to the corner and proceeds to Stomp the hell out of Martinez, not allowing her to get back to her feet. Next Kamea hoists Martinez up to a standing position, only to fling her into the opposing corner. As Martinez slams into the turnbuckles, she has no time to react or counter as Kamea comes running in with a Splash to drop Martinez to the canvas once more.

At this point Kamea drags Martinez around the ring by her hair. Kamea then follows up with an Elbow Drop to Martinez in the ring. Kamea then makes her way over to the corner where she climbs up to look for a Crossbody to Martinez, but Martinez is able to side step, forcing Kamea to roll through. Martinez then turns things around in the final moments of the match as she hits a Flying Knee and quickly follows up with a Sidewalk Slam Backbreaker for the three count pin and win!

Winner: Mercedes Martinez

After the Match

Immediately following the match, Martinez runs out and Aliyah bolts but she catches Stone. Martinez pins him against the barricade and he give her the money he owed. Mercedes then stares at Vic Joseph and shouts that she’s coming for Raquel Gonzalez.

Backstage Interview

Next we head backstage where Johnny Gargano and the other members of The Way are being interviewed about their upcoming tag-team match up. Gargano informs us that tonight’s tag-team match is (and I quote) “Cuckcoo Bananas” as he states that this is the first time all four of them are in a match together. This leads to Austin Theory saying that he is excited to finally get the opportunity to get his own personal revenge on his former captor, Dexter Lumis. Next Indi Hartwell states that she is “excited” to get in there with Lumis as well, which leads the other members of The Way to just quietly look at her as she smiles obliviously. Gargano then states that tonight is the night The Way proves that they’re the best, inter-gender ta-boot, team in NXT history as we head to commercial break!

In-Ring – Legado Del Fantasma

As we return from the commercial break, we head into the Capitol Wrestling Center arena just as the entrance theme for Legado Del Fantasma sounds over the speakers in the arena and the members of Legado Del Fantasma make their way down the ramp and enter the ring where the Undisputed NXT Cruiserweight Champion Santos Escobar is handed a microphone and looks to speak as the theme finishes. Escobar then begins by stating that his current title was that of a “forgotten division” one year ago, which in one short year has become one of the most sought after titles in NXT. Next he shares how Legado Del Fantasma was born as he notes they were originally just a “sideshow” in NXT, and ultimately they became the “main event” and started gaining title runs. Escobar then goes on to state that they took the NXT Cruiserweight Championship title to the main stage and he’s proud to state that he “stole the show” at the most recent TakeOver event, Stand & Deliver. Escobar finishes by state that his family members are WARRIORS, and that’s why tonight, he is extending an open challenge to whoever wants it.

Open Challenge ACCEPTED

As soon as the statement of an “open challenge” crosses the lips of Santos Escobar, the entrance theme for Kushida sounds through the speakers of the Capitol Wrestling Center as Kushida makes his way out to the stage! Before anyone can say anything, Kushida runs down to the ring where he proceeds to brawl with Santos Escobar before the referee can even call for the bell to begin the match!

Cruiserweight Championship Match
(c) Santos Escobar (w/ Legado Del Fantasma) vs. Kushida

With both the NXT Cruiserweight Champion Santos Escobar and his opponent for the impromptu open challenge title match, Kushida, already inside the ring in mid-brawl, the fight is broken up momentarily, long enough that finally the referee gets everything settled inside the ring to signal for the bell. The bell rings and the match is officially underway! To officially start off the action in the match-up, Kushida immediately goes for a Dropkick to Santos, which sends Escobar through the ropes and out of the ring to the ringside floor! This is hysterical to Escobar for some reason, as he re-enters the ring where he is this time prepared as he goes back and forth with Kushida. Both cruiserweight competitors go back and forth with reversals for entirely too long until finally Santos looks for a Sunset Flip to take down Kushida, only Kushida is quick and counters as he grabs Escobar for an Armbar submission attempt! We then see Santos struggling to quickly inch his way towards the ropes to legally break the submission hold by the referee. This leads to Kushida going further to lock in the maneuver as he wraps his arm around Escobar’s leg and proceeds to snap it before the release! As Kushida allows Escobar to finally get free, Escobar immediately rolls to the outside of the ring. Kushida runs towards the ropes and sikes out Escobar as he then handsprings back into the middle of the ring and poses to send us to commercial break!

As we return from the commercial break, the action is still in progress in front of the live audience as Santos Escobar has somehow taken control of the match during the commercial break. Inside the ring we see Escobar hit a Running Lariat that is quickly followed up with a kick that sends Kushida flying out of the ring this time! Escobar follows Kushida out of the ring and hoists Kushida up at ringside where he proceeds to deliver a Hanging Powerbomb Swing of Kushida’s head into the steel stairs at the corner of the ring! This is followed up with Escobar placing Kushida on top of the steel stairs where he proceeds to apply the Liontamer!

The referee continues counting at this point, and Escobar reluctantly releases Kushida so he can roll back into the ring quick enough to break the ten count before Kushida follows Escobar back into the ring to re-start the action inside of the ring. Before Kushida can even get to his feet to decide what to do, Escobar begins to Kick and Stomp Kushida into a pin-fall attempt. Kushida is able to get his shoulder up to break the cover and the count, but a clever Escobar then turns the pin attempt into a submission attempt as he applies an Armbar to Kushida while they’re both still on the canvas. Finally Kushida is able to break free and make his way back to a standing position. A reluctant Escobar meets the stance of Kushida inside the ring as Escobar lands a Kick to Kushida that sends Kushida into the corner of the ring.

Escobar moves in closer to the corner that Kushida is leaning against as Escobar delivers a Chop that is followed up with a Running Knee that rocks Kushida. Next, Kushida is lifted to the top turnbuckle by Escobar as Escobar looks for and lands a Frankensteiner to Kushida for another pin-fall attempt. This leads to Kushida fighting his way up from Escobar’s submission attempt, only to be hit with a Flying Kick once he successfully makes his way to his feet! get caught with a flying kick. Santos and Kushida go back and forth momentarily, then Santos gets an Arm-Drag which he follows up with a Dropkick. At this point, Kushida attempts to take over the offense as he lands a Forearm Blow to Santos that Kushida follows up with a Running Kick!

Kushida looks to keep the momentum going as he attempts to hit a Hammerlock DDT, but Santos is able to maneuver his way out of the grasp of Kushida. Kushida hits a big uppercut in the corner, then lifts Escobar up top. At this point Kushida hits an Arm-trap Superplex, but does not release his grip on Santos as he then hits another only this time Kushida positions himself in a Bridge for the pin to Santos. A level-headed Santos simply gets his foot over to the bottom rope to break the submission hold with the help of the referee. This causes Kushida to follow up by delivering a Flying Armbar to Escobar who immediately breaks free and delivers a Kick to Kushida.

Finally, Kushida lands a Pele kick to Escobar that takes both men out of commission in the center of the ring. As both competitors struggle to get up, they stop at a sitting position to trade blows then again once they’re both on their knees. Finally they both return to their feet and they both land Stereo Kicks to one another before Kushida looks for a Handspring Back Elbow to Escobar. Escobar sees Kushida coming and quickly catches Kushida and follows through with a Backstabber of his own! This leads to Escobar looking for the Phantom Driver only to have Kushida slip off at the last second to roll Escobar for the three count pin and win!

Winner and NEW NXT Cruiserweight Champion: Kushida

Immediately following the match, we see Kushida celebate his victory inside the ring as Santos Escobar still looks stunned at how the heck that just happened!

Backstage – Ciampa and Thatcher

Next we head backstage where we see Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher sitting side by side in the back. Tommaso begins the conversation by stating that the Dusty Cup definitely tested his and Thatcher’s cohesion as a team, that’s for sure! Tommaso then state that Walter and Imperium tested their resolve after that. Ciampa then answers a rhetorical questioning of “Did we win every fight, No.” Ciampa then goes on to add, “Did they pass the tests? Yes.” Ciampa then state to Thatcher that they are facing a whole new tag-team landscape in NXT at this point. Thatcher speaks at this point, stating that they could go for the tag team division… or the very top.

Tommaso Ciampa then looks to the camera and informs current NXT Tag-Team Champions MSK, “we’re coming.” which sends us to the next commercial break!

Trainer’s Room Backstage – NXT Cruiserweight Champion Kushida

As we return from the commercial break, we quickly head to the trainer’s room where Kushida is standing with his brand-new NXT Cruiserweight Championship title just as NXT General Manager WIlliam Regal makes his way into the room with a congratulatory handshake and verbal commending.

Jordan Devlin Enters

As Kushida is on cloud nine speaking to General Manager William Regal, who else than Jordan Devlin comes walking into the training room with a faux clapping as Devlin follows up his “applause” with a sarcastic response stating that he beat Santos Escobar, but so what? Who did Escobar ever beat to gain the championship? Devlin continues on to state that anyone can climb up a ladder quicker than someone else. Devlin then declares to Kushida that he’s “going home for a little while,” but then Devlin finishes by stating that when he comes back… it will be for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship.

In-Ring – NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez

As we return to the ring inside the WWE Capitol Wrestling Center where we see Dakota Kai standing in the center of the squared circle as she officially introduces the current (and NEW) NXT Women’s Champion, her good friend… RAQUEL GONZALEZ!! Gonzalez makes her way to the stage as her entrance theme sounds in the arena and the crowd immediately breaks out into a “You De-serve It! *clap-clap clap-clap-clap* which clearly means something to Gonzalez as she makes her way to the ring where she joins her good friend, Kai.

Gonzalez is handed the microphone as she begins to speak for the first time since she won the NXT Women’s Championship in a match against Io Shirai at TakeOver: Stand and Deliver! She begins by stating, “A year and a half ago was the biggest night in NXT history, when they went live on the USA Network.” Gonzalez shares that that first night, she was supposed to make her debut but she wasn’t ready. So she went home and trainer harder than everyone and now she’s the NXT Champion. Raquel says only one person recognized her talent… and that one person, was Dakota Kai.

Gonzalez continues on at that point, stating that without her friend Dakota Kai, she knows she wouldn’t have been able to debut in Portland. She wouldn’t have become one-half of the first-ever NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions, and she certainly wouldn’t be the NXT Women’s Champion right now. Raquel then continues on to state that “with all due respect to Io Shirai…” (for being a great champion), she then states that the “Raquel Gonzalez Era” has officially begun. At this point for some reason all the lights in the WWE Capitol Wrestling Center suddenly go black as everyone waits to see what will be there when the lights return. The lights finally come back up… FRANKY MONET! is out on the stage, holding that damn mystery dog!

Franky Monet Joins NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez In-Ring

Franky Monet waits a moment to let the “shock” settle in for everyone before she makes her way down the ramp and enters the ring with the NEW NXT Women’s Champion, Raquel Gonzalez, as well as Gonzalez’s good friend, Dakota Kai. Monet starts off by congratulating the brand-new NXT Women’s Champion for her victory and new title reign. She then follows up by stating that she’s here to formally introduce herself to the world. She then adds, “…and now the best women’s division in the world has got a little classier and a whole lot better.” Monet then continues on to state that now that she sees Raquel Gonzalez is currently at the top of the division… Raquel can expect to be seeing a lot more of Monet around NXT.

Gonzalez finally responds as she state that Franky is quite lucky to have caught Gonzalez in a good mood, as she is celebrating her new title reign tonight. But Gonzalez then adds if Monet EVER interrupts Gonzalez again… she’ll shove her dog straight up her, well, ya’know. At this point, Franky Monet takes her leave from inside the ring and as she goes to walk up the ramp, she informs Gonzalez that “she’ll be seeing her…” as she adds, “EVERY Tuesday.”

RAW Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley Joins?!

As Franky Monet exits from her debut on WWE NXT, suddenly out of the freakin’ clear blue sky… the RAW Women’s Champion, Rhea Ripley comes out! Ripley comes to the ring with her title and stands face-to-face with Raquel. As everyone expects a brawl to ensue… Ripley and Gonzalez clap belts together and smile, then suddenly… out comes the SmackDown Women’s Champion, Bianca Belair! Gonzalez, Belair, and Ripley stand together in the ring with their titles and we see a photo of all three from their early days in NXT. All three women pose together, then hug.

Backstage – Pete Dunne

Following that inspirational “HERstory” Lesson…. we head backstage once again where Pete Dunne declares that he “outclassed” Kushida at Stand & Deliver, where he PROVED he’s the best technical wrestler in the world. He dares anyone to step-up and try to prove him wrong. In the meantime, it’s time for him to focus on Championship gold again. On that note, we head to commercial break!

Quick Announcement

As we return from the commercial break, we are informed that Sarray will make her official NXT debut on next Tuesday, April 20, 2021 edition of NXT on the USA Network! NXT General Manger William Regal states that he’s “very excited for her debut” as he adds that “it’s taken a long time to put in place.”

We then follow Mr. Regal as he walks towards his office and opens the door, only to see Roderick Strong is there with his wife, Marina Shafir both standing inside Regal’s office. As Regal looks confused and tries to figure out WHY they’re in there, Strong simply hands Regal a plain brown envelope and states, “I’m done.” Regal accepts the envelope, and then states, “It hasn’t always been easy” and then adds that he’s welcome back at NXT anytime. So for the record, at this point, Strong is, allegedly, gone from NXT.

Isaiah “Swerve” Scott vs. Leon Ruff

After that odd state of affairs, we return to the ring inside the WWE Capitol Wrestling Center arena as we get the entrances for both Isaiah “Swerve” Scott, and Leon Ruff respectively as both competitors make their way to the ring. The referee moves to the center of the ring and signals for the bell to officially start the match. The bell chimes, and the next match up of the evening is officially underway! To start the action in this one-on- one match up, Swerve and Ruff get face to face as they argue back and forth. Finally, Ruff decks Swerve and delivers the first take-down of the match as things NOW officially get going! Swerve makes his way back to his feet and immediately hits a Flapjack, then looks to follow up with a kick to Ruff. Ruff sees Swerve’s foot coming, so he catches it mid-air, causing Swerve to drop to the canvas inside the ring! Ruff then quickly follows up as he lands a Dropkick to Scott from the ring to the outside. This leads to Ruff running full force at Swerve but Ruff is immediately sent over the ropes and onto the apron. Before Ruff can react, Swerve follows up with an Elbow Drop to send Ruff to the floor at ringside. At this point Swerve follows Ruff to the outside of the ring, only to grab Ruff and drag him towards the apron. Swerve then throws Ruff back into the ring and joins Ruff inside. Swerve looks for a Flying Elbow from the middle rope, and lands it successfully as he goes for the cover. Ruff is able to kick out as the referee gets the two. The match continues on at this point as Swerve looks for a Back Suplex to Ruff. Ruff counters and hits a Flying Forearm followed by a Back Elbow to Swerve. Ruff then adds a Hip Attack for good measure before throwing multiple Strikes at Swerve to send him into the corner of the ring! At this point, Ruff jumps from rope to rope, avoiding Swerve, then follows up with a Springboard attempt, to no avail as Swerve immediately jumps up to land a Russian Leg Sweep to Ruff from the second rope! Next, Swerve knocks Ruff off the apron to the outside once again. Swerve then heads out to the apron himself where he proceeds to land a Running Kick to Ruff’s head as we once again head to the commercial break!

As we return from the commercial break, we are informed that it’s been a bunch of back and forth action with no definite superior competitor during the break. Back inside the ring, Swerve lands Ruff in the corner of the ring where he proceeds to Kick Ruff. Swerve then shouts something negative into Ruff’s face as he continues to hold him in the turnbuckles before delivering a Chop to the chest of Ruff. This obviously gets Ruff hyped up as he proceeds to SLAP Swerve… over, and over, and over again! Ruff then follows up with a few good Lariats to Swerve inside the ring. Ruff then heads to the top turnbuckle where he proceeds to look for a Springboard Cutter to Swerve, only to get caught by Swerve with a countered Armbar!

Ruff struggles to fight his way loose, and is finally successfully as he hits his Springboard Cutter to Swerve inside the ring! Swerve rolls outside and Leon hits a Springboard Tope to Scott on the floor. Ruff then makes his way to the outside to drag Swerve back in to the ring for the cover. Swerve is able to kick out to continue the match. At this point, Swerve and Scott both make their way out to the apron and both climb the corner but Ruff gets knocked back and kicks the arm of Swerve. This causes Ruff to jump up and quickly land a Frankensteiner to Swerve! Ruff then proceeds to crawl towards Swerve inch by inch to make the cover! Took too long, as Swerve is able to kick out to continue the match once again! Ruff looks spent, and immediately gets a second (or thirty-nineth, whatever) wind as he proceeds to throw Strikes and Forearm Blows to Swerve before Swerve gets his second wind as well and counters to lift Ruff up into the air. Before Swerve can land a move, Ruff counters with a Hurricanrana that sends Swerve into the corner. Swerve then looks for a retaliation Rope Assisted Lariat after Ruff’s failed attempt at one. Ruff then proceeds to roll-up Scott for a near-fall. Finally, we see Swerve make his way up to the top turnbuckle where he proceeds to land a high flying manuver for the cover! Swerve gets the three count pin and win victory!

Winner: Isaiah “Swerve” Scott

Interview Backstage – Zoey Stark

Next we head backstage where an interview is being conducted with Zoey Stark. Stark is asked how she is feeling at this point, and Stark responds that she feels amazing because not long ago she was struggling to make ends meet but now she’s in NXT and she just had the biggest win of her career against a former Champion in Toni Storm. Mercedes Martinez walks-up and asks why a rookie is getting interviewed instead of her. Stark steps to her and they agree to fight next week. This sends us into the commercial break!

Vignette – WALTER

As we return from the commercial break, we immediately get sent into a hype video for the NXT UK Champion, WALTER. To start things off, WALTER states that he has faced one of his toughest opponents to date… in Tommaso Ciampa. WALTER then continues on to state nonetheless, he’s STILL the NXT United Kingdom Champion. Walter then continues on to share that Imperium is currently undergoing an expansion and they are looking to take over the world in a bid to restore the honor to the sport. NXT is going to learn what they mean when they say the mat is sacred.

Backstage Interview – Isaiah “Swerve” Scott

Swerve is interviewed backstage but Leon Ruff appears and slams his head into lockers over and over. Ruff then grabs a production box and runs it into Swerve’s head. He shouts at Ruff that it isn’t over until he says it is.

The Way vs. Dexter Lumis, Bronson Reed, Shotzi Blackheart & Ember Moon

For the final match-up of the evening, we return to the inside of the WWE Capitol Wrestling Center arena as the entrance theme sounds for The Way as Johnny Gargano, Austin Theory, Indi Hartwell, and Candice LeRae make their way into the ring all hyped up for their chance to prove they are the BEST inter-gender team in NXT of ALL TIME. Out next is the off-the-wall teaming of Dexter Lumis, Bronson Reed, Shotzi Blackheart, and Ember Moon as they each make their way to the ring respectively. Finally with all the opponents in or around the ring, the referee heads to the center of the ring to signal for the bell. The bell rings and our MAIN EVENT of the evening! To start off the action inside the ring, we have Austin Theory in first for The Way, and Dexter Lumis in for Team BEDS (Bronson, Ember, Dexter, Shotzi… get it? LoL, USE IT NXT!) as Theory and Lumis kick off things with a back and forth struggle for control until finally Austin backs Lumis into the corner of the ring. Austin quickly follows up with a Shoulder Tackle to Lumis, followed by an attempt to jump over Lumis to get to the turnbuckles, only to have Lumis grab Theory right out of the air to hit a Thesz Press to take Theory down, followed up with Punches from Lumis. At this point, Austin attempts to get to his corner to make the tag, Indi Hartwell is quite eager to enter the ring with Lumis as she’s jumping up and down with her arm out stretched for Theory to tag her in, but instead Candice takes the tag from Austin and enters the ring. As Candice LeRae makes her way into the ring with Lumis, before anything can happen between the two legal opponents… Ember Moon comes charging across the ring and hits a Shotgun Dropkick for the take down. At this point, Shotzi Blackheart joins her regularly tag-team partner, Ember Moon, to double team Candice LeRae, when suddenly Johnny Gargano makes the save for his wife as he tags himself into the match! This leads Shotzi and Ember to lay the smack down (no affiliation with Friday Nights, lol) on Johnny Wrestling! Finally Moon makes the tag to Dexter Lumis so he can return to the ring!

As Dexter returns to action, he immediately dominates Johnny Gargano as he takes him to the canvas with a Flapjack Uppercut. Lumis then knocks Austin Theory off the apron for good measure. Candice LeRae immediately hops down off the apron to stay out of Lumis’s reach. Candice then looks up at her tag-team partner, Indi Hartwell who is still perched on the apron, leaning against the ropes as she twirls her hair like a teenager that has a crush as she just stares at Lumis. Lumis slowly walks towards Hartwell as she puckers up for a kiss from Lumis. As Lumis inches closer, suddenly LeRae grabs Hartwell and yanks her from the apron down to the floor at ringside. Suddenly out of nowhere, Gargano sneaks up behind Lumis and STRIKES for the sneak attack! Gargano quickly follows up by tagging in Austin Theory as we head to the final commercial break of the evening!

As we return for the final stretch of the April 13th, 2021 edition of WWE NXT on the USA Network, we return to the ring where Dexter Lumis heads to his corner of the ring to make the tag to Bronson Reed (didn’t think he was gonna participate, good for him.) to enter the match up! Reed immediately comes in hot as Austin Theory is still the legal man in for his team as Reed and Theory begin to strike back and forth with Forearm Strikes and Blows to the body! Suddenly Gargano runs in but he too gets caught with up by Reed who delivers multiple blows to Johnny TakeOver! At one point, Gargano and Theory are leaned up in the corner of the ring together as Reed comes charging in full force to land a Splash to both male members of The Way! Reed follows up as he hoists Theory up on to his shoulders and Gargano climbs on without being asked (he’s so silly i swear) so Reed can hit a Double Samoan Drop.

Finally we see Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell run into the ring to stand in the way of Bronson getting to his corner to make the tag when Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon suddenly rush the ring and attack both LeRae and Hartwell simultaneously! This leads to a slobberknocker to end all slobberknockers as all the rules are just thrown out!

At this point Candice LeRae looks for a Crossbody to Reed, but simply bounces off like Right Guard blocks B.O. (message me for my home address Right Guard if you wanna send me free merch for the advertisement! *wink*) Suddenly Lumis grabs up Austin Theory and immediately slams him to the canvas with a wicked Spinebuster! This leads to Gargano grabbing Dexter and yanking him to the outside of the ring (no real plan there) as Moon hits a Suicide Dive to Gargano. LeRae turns her attention to Lumis as she hits a Diving DDT! Reed simply tosses Blackheart out like a bug over the top rope, landing her on top of everyone on the side of the ring. At this point, a quite pissed off Gargano hits Reed with a massive Superkick! Lumis retaliates immediately with The Silence just as Indi Hartwell runs inside the ring, but doesn’t want to Strike her “secret” love, so Hartwell feigns passing out as she lays down. Lumis lets go so he can go check on her. At this point, Lumis’s guard is down and suddenly Theory runs in and proceeds to Stomp Lumis as if his name were “The Yard” (get it? “Stomp The Yard”? Nevermind…) Indi tosses him over the ropes!

Once again Indi Hartwell “plays dead” to gain the attention of Dexter Lumis who picks her up in a craddle hold and proceeds to carry her backstage, on the way up the ramp Indi looked back at the ring over Lumis’ shoulder and winked. Back inside the ring, a match is still going on ya know, so Moon hits an Eclipse to Austin Theory with the help of Reed, then Bronson looks for the Tsunami but Gargano quickly halts hits plans! Finally, Reed throws Gargano off and Candace looks for a Superplex to Reed when suddenly Blackheart lifts her off and throws her onto Theory with a Splash! The match ends as Bronson Reed hits the Tsunami to end either the greatest or the worst inter-gender match-up of NXT history (depending on who you ask). AND THAT’S THE GAME!

Winners: Team BEDS!!! (Bronson Reed, Ember Moon, Dexter Lumis, and Shotzi Blackheart)

After the Match

Immediately following the match, we head into highlights and replays from the main event match up. As we return to the ring, Bronson Reed poses with Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart on his shoulders!
