Falls Count Anywhere Match
Leon Ruff vs. Isaiah "Swerve" Scott
We head to the ring inside the WWE Capitol Wrestling Center to prepare for the first match up of the evening which is announced as a "Falls Count Anywhere" Match with Leon Ruff vs. Isaiah "Swerve" Scott. Out first for tonight's bout is Leon Ruff as his entrance theme sounds through the speakers in the CWC arena. Ruff makes his way down the ramp to enter the ring where he awaits his opponent for tonight's match. Out next is Isaiah “Swerve” Scott to his entrance theme as he makes his way to the stage. Swerve makes his way down the ramp and joins Ruff inside the ring. The referee signals for the bell. The bell rings and out first match of the Tuesday, May 4, 2021 black and gold brand show is officially underway!
To start off the action in our first match, Leon Ruff immediately charges with a loud roar as he heads towards Swerve. In response, Swerve simply lifts his knee which Ruff runs right into for a hard landing to the canvas inside the ring. Ruff makes his way back to his feet as Swerve begins to taunt Ruff, right to his face! After that, Swerve powers Ruff into the corner of the ring where he begins to unload with Strikes on Ruff. Ruff is able to counter his way out of the corner with Strikes of his own to Swerve. We get some more back and forth action between the two competitors. Ruff looks for a Crucifix Bomb on Swerve, but Swerve is able to evade and instead he puts Ruff back down on the canvas!
The crowd doesn't seem to be behind Swerve at all as Ruff makes his way back to his feet once again. This time Ruff looks for a Cutter, which is again blocked by Swerve. At this point, Ruff gets angry and is able to send Swerve to the floor on the outside of the ring, followed by Ruff flying out over the ropes only to be caught by Swerve. Swerve now has Ruff on his shoulders as he sends Ruff hard into the edge of the apron at ringside! The referee heads over to check on Ruff as the crowd once again begins to "boo" Swerve. Now Ruff makes his way back to his feet, only to be sent into the barriers by Swerve. Again back to his feet, Ruff is then sent into the lighting rig.
The match makes it's way back towards the ring as Swerve sends Ruff into the steel ramp for the cover. Ruff is able to kick out at the two to continue the match. Next, Scott mounts Ruff on the steel where he begins to talk some trash to Leon Ruff. Swerve then drags Ruff back into the ring where he lands a Knee Drop to the jaw of Ruff to keep Ruff on the mat. This leads to the fans inside the WWE Capitol Wrestling Center rallying for Leon Ruff, only to have Swerve taunt them and keep control. This leads to Scott dragging Ruff to the top turnbuckle where he proceeds to smack Ruff right in the face. Swerve then goes for a Superplex, but Ruff is able to fight his way out of the move!
Swerve again looks for and this time successfully hits a huge Superplex from the top turnbuckle which causes Ruff to land awkward inside the ring as he shouts out in pain. Swerve then proceeds to go for the cover which Ruff again kicks out of at the two! Swerve kicks Ruff from the ring and gets on the apron and runs for a kick but Leon dodges it and tangles him in the ropes. Finally the control is switched over to Leon Ruff who beats on Swerve who is hanging upside down until finally Swerve falls to the floor. Next Ruff jumps off the stairs, but Swerve delivers a slap to Ruff mid-air.
Swerve shoves Ruff and pulls a toolbox from under the ring and throws it at him like a rocket but Ruff dodges to send us to the first commercial break of the evening!
As we return from the commercial break, Swerve is now beating Ruff on the stage. During the commercial they fought backstage and Swerve powerbombed Ruff into some steel lockers – the same lockers Leon slammed him into a few weeks ago. Swerve poses on the stage and it allows Ruff to knock him off the stage. Ruff follows-up with a swanton off the stage for a two-count. They get back down to the ring and fight on the apron. Swerve pulls Ruff up on the ropes and wants another superplex but Ruff counters with a huge crucifix bomb for a near-fall!
Swerve goes to the apron and Ruff grabs him by the hair, then slides out of the ring between Scott’s legs and looks for a powerbomb but can’t get it. Swerve kicks him off but Ruff runs back up and hits a posionrana from the apron to the floor! They both slowly get back to their feet and talk trash, then Ruff jumps at him but Swerve hits a sit-out bomb for a near-fall. Swerve then runs at Ruff but misses and hits the steel steps. Ruff hits Swerve with the toolbox and puts him back in the ring for a five star frog splash and a near-fall.
Ruff applies a kneebar but Swerve rolls to the outside to get away. Ruff goes to the apron and jumps off for a cutter on the floor. Ruff clotheslines Swerve over the barricade, then goes over it himself and climbs onto a production area. Ruff is jumps off but gets caught by AJ Francis – a member of Scott’s crew – and thrown onto the barricade with an Attitude Adjustment. Swerve then drags Ruff back into the ring and hits the JML Driver for the win.

Backstage - The Way's Austin Theory and NXT North American Champion Johnny Gargano
As we return from the commercial break, we once again head backstage where we see The Way's members Austin Theory as well as NXT North American Champion Johnny Gargano. Gargano and Theory make their way into the office of NXT General Manager William Regal. As they enter the office, they see that Regal is sitting with Scarlett Boudreaux.
To start off, Gargano rants about how he has some business to discuss with Mr. Regal, but it seems as though Mr. Regal never seems to have any time for Johnny Wrestling! As he continues on, Gargano refers to himself as the real champion of NXT. When he's done with his rant, Gargano walks off, leaving Theory standing in Mr. Regal's office, just staring at Scarlett. Theory oddly comments on "how big they are" and questions "if they're real"... alrighty then. (Oddly enough, though it sounds like he’s talking about her chest, but he then asks if h er fingernails are really real.) To end the segment, Johnny Gargano returns to Mr. Regal's office to retrieve his fellow The Way member, he and Theory then walk off.

Inside the ring, we see that opponent Asher Hale is waiting for his opponent. Out next is Cameron Grimes, as his entrance theme sounds in the WWE Capitol Wrestling Center speakers. Grimes makes his way out to the stage and then makes his way down the ramp to enter the ring along with Hale. The referee makes his way to the center of the ring as he signals for the bell. The bell rings and our next match of the evening is officially underway!
To start off the action in our second match up, Grimes takes the back and then follows up by slamming Hale down to the canvas. Grimes stops to pose as Hale looks to get back to his feet. To turn things around, Hale takes a Side Headlock to which Grimes tries to shove him away. Hale continues to keep his grip tight, not allowing Grimes to move. Once again, Grimes attempts to break free, successfully dropping Hale with a shoulder. Asher hits a Basement Dropkick at this point, knocking Grimes to the canvas. Asher hits a few leg kicks until finally Grimes counters with several Chops to take Hale down to the canvas!
Next Grimes takes Hale to the corner of the ring where he proceeds to beat Hale down before following up with a European Uppercut. Then Grimes leans on the ropes to deliver a Swinging Kick, Hale is able to catch the leg of Grimes and hits a Dragon Whip to take down Grimes! Grimes tries to escape the ring and Asher grabs him but Grimes kicks him back. Grimes counters Asher and hits a Spinning Sidewalk Slam. Finally, Grimes runs at Hale and delivers a Double Stomp for the cover getting the three count pin and win victory!

Next, we return to the ring for the next match up of the evening as w see that James Drake and Zack Gibson of The Grizzled Young Veterans are standing in the center of the ring with microphones in hand. Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher Enter
Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher make their way to the stage as their music continues to play over the speakers. As they make their way down the ramp towards the ring, we see Ciampa and Thatcher both have on near-matching ring gear. The two opponents enter the ring with Gibson and Drake. The referee moves to the center of the ring to signal for the bell. The bell rings and our next match up is officially underway! To start off the action in this match up, Tommaso Ciampa is in for his team along with James Drake for The Grizzled Young Veterans. As we return from the commercial break, we return to the ring where Thatcher is powering Drake into the corner with Strikes until he whips him across the ring. Suddenly James flips over the ropes and lands on the apron. This leads to Drake making the tag to Gibson from the apron but the referee says that’s not legal. Drake uses the momentary distraction to snap Thatcher on the top rope, then tags Gibson so they can proceed to double-team him. Thatcher is taken down with a Face-lock at this point, Gibson even throwing some headbutts in. Next, Drake tags back in and Thatcher kicks him away to head over to his corner to make the tag to his partner, Ciampa. Tommaso enters the ring and immediately clotheslines Drake and Gibson over and over until he catches them both with a double clothesline.
At this point, Ciampa puts Drake in the corner and chops him silly before tagging Thatcher for repeated forearms. Ciampa tags in again and hits a flurry of strikes with toothless Timmy for a two-count. Gibson tags in against Thatcher but gets caught with a belly-to-belly. Ciampa and Drake run in and all four men start brawling. Ciampa and Drake tumble to the outside and Gibson batters Thatcher with uppercuts until Thatcher slaps him. Bust the door down, bust it down!" as Theory shows off his guns.
The two then walk up to the door as Gargano reiterates, "It's door busting time! Bust it down!" Theory pulls his fist back as if he's going to punch through the door, then stops an inch from the door as he proceeds to knock lightly on the door. "Ah, better idea, better idea." Gargano states. Suddenly Regal walks up to Gargano and Theory outside of his own office as he states he heard Gargano was looking for him. Gargano then says, "You're 'too busy for me'?" Moon stands on the middle rope and Blackheart looks to hit a suicide dive to Indi on the chairs but Candace appears nd spray them both with a fire extinguisher. We head to the final commercial break of the evening.
As we return to the main event match up of tonight's black and gold brand show LIVE, there’s a lot more furniture set-up, including a table in the corner and a ladder from the ring to the barricade. Shotzi and Ember lay Indi and Candace on the middle rope and hit a stereo kick/senton. Moon hits Indi with a trash can, then lifts LeRae so they c hit a double-team dominator/clothesline. Candace rolls to the apron and Ember kicks her onto the propped ladder before they drop Indi with kicks. Candace is lying on the ladder and Shotzi goes to the top rope for a flying senton! The ladder doesn’t break but they both bounce off and land hard.
Moon lifts Indi and hits an Alabama slam into the table in the corner and it also doesn’t break. Shotzi is right back up and she brings another ladder into the ring. Moon and Blackheart hold the ladder and Indi kicks it into them. Candace is also back and totally fine because who needs selling these days. Indi sets the ladder against the ropes and places Blackheart on it, then Candace hits a springboard moonsault. Hartwell and Moon trade shots, then Indi hits a Spinebuster onto a ladder for a near-fall. Indi takes Blackheart out of the ring and slams her into the barricade, then takes the lid off the announce desk. Shotzi smashes a coffee cup over Indi’s head, then sets her on the table and scales a girder to hit a splash through the table.
Inside the ring, Moon catches Candace with a sit-out powerbomb for a near0fall. Moon goes to the top rope, wanting an Eclipse but Candace hits her. Shotzi returns but Candace drops her before putting Ember on the table at ringside. Candace fights with Shotzi and Indi reappears to jump off the the top rope with an elbow drop to Moon through the table – I guess this is the four bionic women. Candace punches Shotzi with brass knuckles, then hits a Wicked Stepsister onto a chair for the win.
