WWE NXT RESULTS (12/25): WINTER PARK, FL.

Last week, we saw Rhea Ripley face Shayna Baszler for the NXT Women’s Championship and Finn Balor challenge Adam Cole for the NXT Men’s Championship. One would leave as the new champion, but one saw a familiar face return to keep him from winning gold.

We are in Stamford, Connecticut and your hosts are Cathy Kelley, Pat McAfee, and Sam Roberts.

We go to Winter Park, Florida for Mauro Ranallo and Nigel McGuinness.

Roderick Strong is singing in the back and he says he is a giving man so the North American Championship will be defended against a worthy competitor. They will get a Season’s Beating.

Match Number One: Roderick Strong versus Austin Theory in a North American Championship Match

They lock up and Strong with a wrist lock and take down. Strong keeps Theory on the mat and puts his knee on the chest. Strong with an arm bar. Strong with a Rings of Saturn and a crucifix for a near fall. They have a Greco Roman Knuckle Lock and Strong with a side head lock take down. They get back to their feet and Theory with a top wrist lock and a snap mare. Theory has some words for Strong. Strong goes for the leg and he grabs the ankle and applies a figure four of the legs and he paint brushes Theory. Strong with an arm bar and wrist lock.

Theory with a reversal and arm wringer. Strong pushes Theory and Theory pushes Strong back. Strong with forearms and kicks. Strong with a chop and Irish whip. Theory floats over and hits a drop kick. Theory gets a near fall. Theory with a hard Irish whip. Strong and Theory with punches. Strong with an Irish whip but Theory floats over. Theory with a standing moonsault for a near fall. Theory with a forearm and back breaker. Theory clotheslines Strong over the top rope to the floor.

Theory with a forearm but Strong with a chop on the floor. They go back and forth with Strong sending Theory into the guardrails followed by an Olympic Slam into the ring post. Strong returns to the ring and Theory has trouble getting back into the ring while the referee makes his count. Theory powers up at 9 1/2 to get back into the ring. Strong with kicks to Theory upon his return. Strong with an elbow drop and he gets a near fall. Strong with a forearm across the nose. Theory with a head butt and forearms. Strong with a drop kick and Theory falls awkwardly to the mat and Strong gets a near fall. Strong with a surfboard and chin lock. Strong with a double fish hook and Strong releases the hold.

Strong with kicks and Theory with forearms and chops. Theory with more chops and Strong with a knee that sends Theory to the apron. Theory with a shoulder and he goes for a rolling move but Strong catches Theory and hits a back breaker for a near fall. Strong with a chin lock and body scissors. Theory with a suplex and back elbow. Strong blocks a kick and Theory escapes a back breaker. Strong with a knee and Theory with a rolling drop kick. Strong with punches and Theory with forearms as they go back and forth. Theory with an elbow and clothesline. Theory goes to the apron and hits a slingshot boot to the chest. Theory with a Fisherman’s suplex. Theory with a blockbuster for a near fall.

Theory goes for a Ataxia but Strong escapes. Theory with a buckle bomb and a fisherman’s neck breaker for a near fall. Theory cannot get Strong on his shoulders and Strong sends Theory into the turnbuckles. Strong with a knee and he hits a superplex and Strong holds on but Theory with Three Seconds Around the World for a near fall. Theory sets for Ataxia but Strong sends Theory to the apron. Strong with a shoulder and forearm. Strong sets for another superplex but Theory with a punch and Theory goes to the turnbuckles. Strong with a back breaker onto the top turnbuckle. Strong gets a near fall. Theory with a fisherman’s buster on the apron and they return to the ring.

Theory gets a near fall. Theory with a forearm and Strong with a chop. They go back and forth. Strong with forearms and elbows but Theory with a forearm. Strong with a kick and a second kick. Theory with a super kick as Strong goes for a jumping knee. Theory with a second super kick. Strong with a jumping knee followed by End of Heartache and the Strong Hold to force Theory to tap out.

Winner: Roderick Strong (retains championship)

Cathy asks for thoughts on Austin Theory. Pat says you have to impressed with Austin Theory. Sam says Theory has been waiting to make this move.

Pat talks about how Undisputed Era has turned their year around and lived up to their predictions for the year.

We go to Brooklyn, New York and your announcers are Tom Phillips and Beth Phoenix.

Match Number Two: Isaiah Scott versus Jack Gallagher

Scott with a wrist lock but Gallagher with a side head lock. Scott stretches the arm and Gallagher with a single leg take down. Gallagher works on the wrist and bends the arm in an unnecessary position. Gallagher with a side head lock. Scott with a snap mare and shoulder tackle. Gallagher with a head scissors take down and a snap mare into a reverse chin lock. Scott with a tilt-a-whirl slam into a figure four arm bar. Gallagher with a rollup for a near fall. Scott sends Gallagher to the floor and Scott with a head scissors take down. Scott with a kick to the leg and a drop kick.

Gallagher has had enough and he goes to the floor. Scott follows and Gallagher returns to the ring. Gallagher is sent over the top rope to the floor by Scott and Scott with a kick from the apron. Scott sends Gallagher back into the ring and gets a near fall. Scott with a wrist lock and he adds a chin lock. Scott with a reverse chin lock. Gallagher with a top wrist lock and he sends Scott shoulder first into the turnbuckles. Gallagher sends Scott into the turnbuckles and connects with a shoulder tackle. Scott pushes Gallagher but Jack with a forearm. Scott with chops. Gallagher with an arm wringer. Gallagher with an arm bar.

Scott goes to the turnbuckles and Gallagher catches him and applies a Fujiwara arm bar. Scott gets to the ropes to force Gallagher to release the hold. Gallagher kicks Scott in the shoulder and then continues to work on the shoulder. Gallagher with a double wrist lock and he stomps on the elbow. Scott with a chop and Gallagher chops back. They go back and forth. Gallagher sends Scott to the floor and Gallagher chops Scott against the ringside barrier. They return to the ring. Scott with punches but Gallagher avoids a punch and connects with one. Scott with a discus clothesline and both men are down. Scott with an elbow into the corner followed by a snap mare and European uppercut to the back from the turnbuckles. Scott with kicks to the chest against the ropes. Scott is sent to the apron but Scott with elbows. Scott with a rolling Flatliner for a near fall.

Scott goes for a full nelson but Gallagher with a wrist lock. Scott with a back breaker and chop. Gallagher with a chop. Scott with a bicycle kick and Gallagher with a rebound head butt and he gets a near fall. Scott with a slam but Gallagher holds on to the wrist lock and Gallagher goes for a cross arm breaker. Scott rolls through and he applies a figure four arm bar. Gallagher with a rollup and he goes to the cross arm breaker. Scott stomps on the arm as he hyper-extends it. Scott with a jumping back heel kick for the three count.

Winner: Isaiah Scott

We return to Cathy and her elves. Cathy mentions that the Year End Awards will be announced and she says they will be the hosts.

We go to commercial.

Match Number Three: Candice LeRae versus Taynara Conti

Candice blocks a kick and clotheslines Taynara. Candice is sent to the apron and Candice with a knee and neck breaker in the ropes. Candice goes up top and Taynara moves out of the way. Candice with a baseball slide to Taynara. Candice with a springboard cross body onto Conti. Candice gets a near fall. Candice with a rear chin lock. Taynara backs Candice into the corner and Candice with an elbow. Taynara pulls Candice off the turnbuckles and Candice hits the turnbuckles. Conti with a running knee. Taynara kicks Candice.

Taynara with another kick and she gets a near fall. Candice with a rollup for a near fall. Taynara with an elbow and judo throws. Conti gets a near fall. Taynara with a reverse chin lock. Taynara chokes Candice in the ropes. Taynara with double knees into the corner followed by a monkey flip and Taynara gets a near fall. Taynara with a reverse chin lock. Taynara sends Candice back to the mat. Candice backs Taynara into the turnbuckles. Candice with a snap mare. Taynara misses a boot and Candice with a drop kick to the leg. Candice with an enzuigiri and both women are down.

Candice goes for a crucifix bomb but Taynara counters into a satellite side slam for a near fall. Conti gets another near fall. Candice with forearms and punches int the corner followed by a running elbow into the corner. Candice goes up top and hits a missile drop kick. Candice misses an enzuigiri and Coni misses a boot. Candice with a rollup for a near fall. Candice with a back senton and Candice with a quebrada for the three count.

Winner: Candice LeRae

Cathy, Pat, and Sam talk about Io Shirai and Candice LeRae in 2019.

We take a look at Arturo Ruas. He mentions growing up in a Civil War. He says he is a survivor and he became a warrior and a fighter. He became a champion. He says he is a black belt in Brazilian Ju Jitsu, Muay Thai, and more.

Match Number Four: Dominik DIjakovic versus Bronson Reed

They lock up and go for an early advantage. Dijakovic with a side head lock. Dijakovic floats over and returns to the side head lock. Reed powers out of the hold and Dijakovic is able to reapply the hold. Reed with a belly-to-back suplex but Dijakovic lands on his feet and returns to the side head lock. They go to a top wrist lock and Reed with a side head lock. Dijakovic returns to the side head lock. Dijakovic goes for a shoulder tackle but Reed stays on his feet. They both stay on their feet after shoulder tackles. Dijakovic with a clothesline and Reed responds. Dijakovic tries for a suplex but Reed blocks it and Reed with a shoulder tackle. Dijakovic drops down and Reed sits on Dominik’s back.

Reed with a back senton for a near fall. Reed with a seated abdominal stretch. Reed goes for a waist lock. Dijakovic with an elbow to escape the hold. Reed with a forearm and he gets Dijakovic on his shoulders. Dominik escapes and connects with forearms. Dijakovic with kicks to Reed followed by forearms to the back. Dijakovic with elbows in the corner. Reed with a kick to the midsection followed by a forearm. DIjakovic with a forearm and kick followed by an elbow in the corner. Reed blocks an Irish whip.

Dijakovic with a head butt, but he feels it more than Reed. Reed with forearms and a reverse atomic drop. Reed with a forearm and German suplex. Reed with a running hip strike into the corner for a near fall. Reed sets for a suplex and he hits it. Reed gets a near fall. Reed misses a splash into the corner. Dijakovic with elbows and forearms. Dijakovic goes for a suplex but Reed blocks it. Reed blocks another suplex attempt. Dijakovic with forearms and he is still unable to get Reed up. Dijakovic with a boot and back elbow. Dijakovic finally gets Reed up for a suplex throw and Dijakovic gets a near fall. Dijakovic tries to get Reed on his shoulders for Feast Your Eyes but Reed blocks it. Dijakovic with forearms and a knee to the head. Reed with a head butt and Dijakovic with a cyclone kick for a near fall.

Dijakovic goes up top and hits the moonsault but Reed kicks out at two. Reed head butts Dijakovic’s hand and he kicks the arm. Dijakovic with a thrust kick and Reed with a Thesz Press off the turnbuckles for a near fall. The straps come down and Reed goes up top. Dijakovic stops Reed with a punch. Dijakoviic goes for a superplex but Reed with a head butt and Dijakovic falls to the mat. Dijakovic grabs Reed by the throat and Dijakovic hits the sit out choke bomb for the three count.

Winner: Dominik Dijakovic

Tom mentions Worlds Collide featuring matches between NXT and NXT UK.

We are told that Undisputed Era will face Imperium in the main event of Worlds Collide.

Cathy mentions Bianca Belair and we have a video package. She says she is the strongEST, roughEST, fastEST, and the EST of NXT. She will look everyone in the eye and tell them she is better than them.

We go to commercial.

Match Number Five: Shotzi Blackheart versus Bianca Belair

They lock up and Blackheart backs Belair into the corner and Shotzi with a clean break. She offers her hand and Bianca slaps it away and she pushes Shotzi to the mat. Shotzi with an arm drag and a second arm drag. Shotzi with a top wrist lock and bridge. Belair escapes and hits a splash. Belair with a shoulder tackle. Shotzi goes for a sunset flip but Bianca does not go over. Bianca blows a bubble and Shotzi slaps her and bursts the bubble. Shotzi gets a near fall.

Blackheart with a springboard head scissors take down. Blackheart with a back senton to Belair’s back against the ropes. Blackheart with a drop kick through the ropes but Belair catches Blackheart and Bianca with a power bomb onto the apron. Belair gets a near fall. Belair works on the neck. Blackheart with a rollup for a near fall. Belair with a clotheslines. Belair chokes Blackheart in the ropes. Shotzi iwth a kick and forearm to the back. Belair backs Bloackheart into the turnbuckles. Belair with a biel to Blackheart and she kicks Shotzi in the back. Belair with an elbow to the collarbone followed by a boot to the back. Belair with a moonsault to the back. Belair chokes Blackheart in the ropes.

Belair gets a near fall. Belair with a reverse chin lock. Belair with a rollup for a near fall. Belair with a clothesline and she chokes Blackheart. Belair with an Irish whip but Blackheart with a boot and sunset flip for a near fall. Belair with a drop kick and she gets a near fall. Belair with a cravate. Blackheart with punches and she backs Belair into the turnbuckles. Bianca returns to the cravate and Blackheart with a snap mare. Belair pushes Blackheart into the turnbuckles. Blackheart with a splash into the corner followed by a spinning face plant. Blackheart with a knee and rolling elbow. Blackheart with a kick to the temple. Blackheart with a victory roll gourdbuster for a near fall. Belair backs Blackheart into the turnbuckles. Belair goes to the apron when Blackheart moves. Blackheart with a kick and a hesitation DDT onto the apron.

Blackheart goes up top and misses a double stomp and rolls through. Belair avoids a kick and Belair gets Blackheart up for the KOD and the three count.

Winner: Bianca Belair

Cathy asks Sam if he has any regrets about what he has said about Bianca. He says he does not regret anything he said about her and she is not the top female in NXT. Pat talks about how good an athlete Bianca is.

Match Number Six: Damian Priest and Tony Nese versus Keith Lee and Lio Rush

Nese and Rush start things off but Nese decides to tag in Priest before locking up. Priest wants to face Lee, but Rush says he will face someone his own size. Priest grabs Rush by the throat and Rush slaps Priest. Rush kicks Priest away as he avoids the bigger man. Rush has a kick blocked and Rush is flipped into his corner. Lee makes the tag. Priest removes Lee’s Santa hat and Priest kicks Lee in the leg. Lee misses some strikes and Priest avoids a few strikes. Lee with a running cross body to Priest. Nese comes in and Rush throws cookies at Rush and Nese goes after Rush. Rush leaps over the announce table and then Lee POUNCES Nese over the announce table.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Rush with a double stomp to the arm from the turnbuckles. Priest with an Irish whip but Rush with a boot and he goes to the turnbuckles Priest with a forearm as Rush comes off the turnbuckles. Priest with a jumping elbow into the corner followed by a Falcon Arrow for a near fall. Nese tags in and he kicks Rush. Rush with punches and forearms. Rush with a sunset flip but Nese rolls through and kicks Rush for a near fall. Nese with a body scissors.

Rush with forearms but Nese sends Rush into the corner and kicks Rush. Rush with a chop. Nese stops Rush from making the tag and then Rush with a rollup and Nese misses a kick. Rush with a rollup and Nese stops Rush from making the tag. Rush lands on his feet and Nese is able to stop Rush from making the tag. Rush with the slingshot cutter and both men are down. Priest and Lee tag in and Lee with a shoulder tackle and clothesline. Lee with a splash and running forearm into the corner.

Lee with another clothesline. Lee gets a near fall. Lee sets for a power bomb but Priest lands on his feet. Nese makes the blind tag and Lee sends Priest to the apron. Priest with a kick and Nese with a double jump moonsault for a near fall. Lee runs Nese into the corner and Rush tags in and Rush with a spingboard head scissors. Nese with a matrix and kicks but Rush with strikes and a back heel kick. Lee tags in but Priest pulls Lee off the apron. Priest catches Rush on a suicide dive and Priest with a choke slam on the apron. Priest sets for Rush and Lee rises in the corner and sends Priest over the top rope. Nese goes for a suicide dive and Lee is about to put Nese on his knee to ask him what he wants for Christmas but he sends Nese into the ringside barrier. Lee catches Priest on a flip dive and Lee sends Priest into Nese and then power bombs Priest on the apron.

Lee with a jackhammer to Nese and Lee lets Rush tag in to hit the frog splash off Lee’s shoulders. Rush gets the three count.

Winners: Lio Rush and Keith Lee
