This week’s edition of WWE NXT kicks off on the USA Network with the usual “WWE Then. Now. Forever. Together” opening signature narrated by WWE legend John Cena.
Grayson Waller “Has Some Fun” With NXT Champion Bron Breakker
From there, we shoot to “yesterday” Instagram video from Grayson Waller. He says he’s gonna have some fun with Bron Breakker and mentions how he’s a grumpy lad. He goes to confront the NXT Champion at the WWE Performance Center.
Waller comes into the WWE PC and grabs a wrestler and tells him to “film this.” He then spots Breakker and points him out to everyone. He then makes a big scene, pushing people trying to hold him back from confronting the NXT Champion.
A big spat breaks out after something is thrown and everyone in the PC tries to keep them separated. Instead, we see the two get to each other and a giant brawl breaks out with tons of talents and aspiring talents jumping in to eventually break things up.
Indi Hartwell vs. Tiffany Stratton
We then shoot inside the WWE PC where the camera settles on Vic Joseph and Booker T standing ringside and reacting to the Waller-Breakker footage we just saw. From there, Indi Hartwell makes her way down to the ring. She steps in on the camera shot of Vic and Booker and declares Tiffany Stratton is gonna pay tonight.
Hartwell settles in the ring and her music dies down. Now Tiffany Stratton’s theme hits and out she comes. She makes her way to the ring as Vic and Booker talk about how they’ve never seen Indi this worked up before.
As Tiffany approaches the ring, Hartwell attacks her from the ring apron. The two brawl at ringside a bit and then Hartwell brings her inside the ring. The bell sounds to get this match officially off-and-running. Hartwell continues to work her over until she walks into a big drop-kick from Tiffany.
She goes for the follow-up cover and when Indi kicks out, Tiffany tries begging off. We see Tiffany finally shift the offensive momentum into her favor and starts taunting Indi as she goes to work on her inside the ring.
We see Tiffany continue to control Indi in the ring as the fans try and rally behind Hartwell. The commentators spend some time talking about the Raw Is XXX anniversary special from last night and the WWE Royal Rumble 2023 pay-per-view coming up this weekend.
Finally, Hartwell finds an opportunity to fire up for an offensive comeback and she jumps on it and takes full advantage, completely shifting the momentum in this contest into her favor. Tiffany yells out and acts like she has a knee injury. She gets up and limps and has the referee check on it.
The ref waves on the doctor from the back and as he makes his way down to the ring, she charges forward and hits Indi with a sneak-attack. She flattens her and then hits the Best Moonsault Ever in the corner and covers her for the pin fall victory.
Winner: Tiffany Stratton
Jacy Jane Is Done Carrying Gigi Dolin On Her Back
We are shown footage of Roxanne Perez pulling off the victory over Toxic Attraction on last week’s show. We then return live where McKenzie Mitchell is standing by with Jacy Jane. She corrects Mitchell when she calls Gigi Dolin her “partner.”
She claims to have been carrying Dolin since the day they created Toxic Attraction. She says check the receipts and claims to be the reason Toxic Attraction succeeded since day one.
She refuses to allow Dolin to stop her from becoming the NXT Women’s Champion at NXT Vengeance Day. She vows to show something we’ve never seen before later tonight.
Andre Chase U Award Ceremony
From there, we see Thea Hail in a graduation gown talking to herself in the mirror, preparing for her graduation ceremony. On that note, we head to a commercial break.
When we return from the break, we see Drew Gulak teaching a wrestling seminar as Hank Walker watches on. The Creed Brothers and The Diamond Mine are present for this one. Gulak loses his cool when one of the Creed Brothers gets the better of things on the wrestling mats.
Now we shoot back inside the CWC where the ring is decked out for Thea Hail’s graduation ceremony. Andre Chase and the esteemed members of the Chase U student section are present and Chase addresses them to start the graduation ceremony off.
Andre Chase talks about a lady who excelled in the class room but not in the ring. He says that all changed last week. He goes to make an analogy but is censored while doing so and then continues to present an award to Thea Hail for securing her first victory inside the NXT ring.
The fans chant “Thea! Thea!” as she is presented with her award from Chase. “You deserve it!” is the next chant that spreads across the building. Hail gets on the mic and thanks everyone and tells them she loves them so much.
From there, JD McDonagh’s theme hits and he comes out to interrupt. He asks if this is what things have devolved into. A giant award ceremony for one win. He then criticizes the NXT fans in attendance for cheering for this nonsense.
McDonagh gives some life advice. He says when you hang around with losers, every win is a big deal. He uses Duke Hudson as an example. He calls Hudson, Chase and Hail all losers. Chase says it’s bad enough he is ruining Thea’s speech, but he’ll be damned if he stands here while he runs Chase University into the ground.
He claims Duke Hudson doesn’t love Chase U the way he says the fans and he himself does. He tells Chase to control his dogs and then tells them to get out of here because he’s dressed for a fight. Chase says one of the first things he tells his students is to always be ready. He says if you stay ready, you never have to get ready.
Chase takes his graduation gown off and decks McDonagh with a big shot. Vic Joseph promotes Chase vs. McDonagh next. On that note, we head to another commercial break.
JD McDonagh vs. Andre Chase
We return from the break and McDonagh and Chase are in the ring and already going at it as the match started during the break. We see McDonagh is dominating the action in the ring as we are shown highlights of a spot that took place on the floor during the commercial that led to McDonagh settling into the offensive driver’s seat.
Chase hits a big belly-to-back suplex that buys him some time. The NXT Universe in attendance continues to rally behind Chase as he starts to fire up on offense and take it to McDonagh.
He hits him with some big shots and then an atomic drop before sending him down to the mat. The crowd chants along with him the letters C-H-A-S-E U as he stomps McDonagh once for each letter.
A big knee and a headbutt from McDonagh sees him floor Chase and buy himself some much-needed time to recover. Both guys get up but Chase hits an insane DDT spot for a close near fall. McDonagh gets his feet on the ropes to keep his chances alive.
Kiana James & Fallon Henley vs. Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley
We see Kiana James talking to her assistant when Fallon Henley approaches with Brooks Jensen and Josh Briggs. The girls talk about being ready for women’s tag-team action next before disagreeing already on who will start the match.
On that note, we head to a pre-match commercial break. When we return from the break, and out comes the duo of Kiana James and Fallon Henley. Also in the ring is their opponents, the duo of Ivy Nile and Tatum Paxley.
After some good back-and-forth action, we settle into the finish in what was a quick and basic tag-team match that showed James and Henley surprisingly had good chemistry as a tag-team unit.
Winners: Kiana James & Fallon Henley
The New Day Invitational Announced
The New Day are shown backstage talking with Edris Enofe and Malik Blade and eventually it is announced that The New Day Invitational will take place to sort out the title picture in the NXT landscape.

On that note, we settle into another commercial break, When we return, we see Apollo Crews walking into Carmelo Hayes’ barber shop. He sits down for a haircut and then is eventually confronted by Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams.
The two go back-and-forth and eventually decide on a two-out-of-three falls match between Apollo Crews and Carmelo Hayes for the upcoming NXT Vengeance Day 2023 special event.
Hank Walker & Drew Gulak vs. The Creed Brothers
Now we head back inside the CWC where Hank Walker and Drew Gulak are in the middle of finishing up their ring entrance, which is in progress. Their music then dies down and they await the arrival of their opponents.
On that note, the theme hits to bring out The Creed Brothers. Julius and Brutus Creed then settle inside the ring and look ready for tag-team action.
The bell sounds and we’re officially off-and-running with our next match of the evening here at NXT on USA. Gulak and Creed kick things off for their respective teams. Creed scoops Gulak up and takes him down to the mat.
We see The Creed Brothers faring well early on, however when Hank Walker tags in, he starts shifting the momentum into his team’s favor. This doesn’t last long, however, as Creed makes the tag and things shift back in their favor.
Gulak and Walker start to utilize some good tag-team offense and as they knock The Creed Brothers out to the floor, they stand tall together in the ring staring them down as we head to a mid-match commercial break as the action continues.
As we settle back in from the break, we see that Hank Walker is essentially left to fight off both Julius and Brutus by himself after Charlie Dempsey distracts Gulak at ringside. Eventually they are too much for him. Brutus hits his top-rope finisher and scores the win.
Winners: The Creed Brothers
Indus Sher vs. The Creed Brothers Is Finally Set For Next Week
After the match, The Creed Brothers get on the mic and each take turns thanking Ivy Nile for inspiring them and sticking by their side. They talk about being the best tag-team in NXT but before they can say anything else, Indus Sher and Jinder Mahal make their way out to interrupt them.
Mahal sarcastically congratulates them on once again becoming themselves. They say next week they’ll find out who they really are because both teams are finally 100-percent. Indus Sher vs. The Creed Brothers for next week. Jinder Mahal tells them to accept the challenge. Ivy Nile jumps on the mic and she too finally agrees. “You’re on!” she says.

She says thorns hurt but they don’t hide. She claims she’s gonna do the same thing when she gives Jane a piece of her mind later tonight. She walks off to end the segment.
Wendy Choo vs. Elektra Lopez
Now we head back inside the CWC where Wendy Choo’s theme hits. She makes her way down to the ring and settles inside as we head to a pre-match commercial break.
When we return from the break, we see Tony D’Angelo and Stacks entering a nice restaurant. D’Angelo talks about the streets talking about Stacks being the new underboss. The focus of the segment is how you only get one chance to make a first impression.
After this wraps up, we return inside the Capitol Wrestling Center and Elektra Lopez makes her way down to the ring for this scheduled one-on-one contest. We see Lopez and Choo both look ready to go. The bell sounds and we’re off-and-running with this one.
Valentina Feroz takes advice from Lopez in an “earlier tonight” segment shown in a split-screen, as she makes her way from the back down to ringside to get an up-close look at this Lopez-Choo showdown.
Lopez takes it to Choo early on. The action spills out to the floor where Lopez adds to her offensive lead. She brings Choo back into the ring and continues to work her over as Feroz watches on from ringside.
Choo tries fighting back but is cut off by Lopez, who hits a swinging urinagi before choking her throat-first over the bottom rope. She drops a big elbow and goes for the cover, but Choo kicks out after the count of two.
Finally we see Choo get in some offense by landing a big kick. She goes for the cover but Lopez kicks out after two. Lopez slips on brass knuckles behind the referee’s back but right in front of Feroz at ringside. She blasts Choo with them and gets the pin. After the match we see Lopez gloating while Feroz looks on and doesn’t seem impressed.
Winner: Elektra Lopez
Another Match For NXT Vengeance Day 2023 … Maybe
Backstage we see Fallon Henley and Josh Briggs talking when Brooks Jensen approaches them and says he spoke with Shawn Michaels.
At NXT Vengeance Day it will be Henley and Kiana James competing for the women’s tag-team titles. Briggs is happy but Henley isn’t. She says she’ll have to think about this first.
Grayson Waller Wants To Create Another Viral Moment With Bron Breakker
Grayson Waller is shown looking arrogant and energetic outside. He enters the building as we head to a commercial break with Vic Jospeh saying Grayson Waller is up next when we return.
We return from the break and we see Lopez annoyed with Feroz for not being impressed with her win, but instead offended with how she got the win. McKenzie Mitchell is then shown when a check-in with Super Stevie Chat breaks in with Stevie Turner.
She announces she will be making her NXT debut on next week’s show. She fields a question from the chat and says she’s excited to face Roxanne Perez but predicts that she won’t have the title past Vengeance Day. She says she hears Grayson Waller’s music and tells Mitchell she’ll see her next week.
Now we see Grayson Waller introduced and make his way to the ring. Vic Joseph asks Booker T if he saw his apology earlier today on social media. Booker T says he doesn’t like this dude. Grayson Waller tells the production crew to cut his music off and says we don’t got time for that this week.
He calls out Bron Breakker. He reveals there is no steal plate under his jacket tonight. He shows a NXT Championship wrapped around his waist and says this is all he’s got on there tonight. Bron Breakker is shown backstage. He looks angry. He grabs his NXT Championship and heads to the ring.
A bunch of NXT talents trail behind Breakker and try and stop him from going out to the ring. Waller talks about how people think he should be afraid to be locked in a cage with Breakker, when in reality it’s the exact opposite.
Breakker pushes past a ton of wrestlers in the back and makes his way out to the entrance stage. He heads down to the ring and the fight is immediately on as he and Waller clash. The fight spills out to the floor and eventually we see Breakker try and spear Waller, only for Waller to move and Breakker breaks through the barricade and hurts himself in the process.
Waller is shown heading up the ramp holding the NXT title up high in the air shouting a message in the direction of Breakker as officials and medics check on him. The segment wraps up on that note.
NXT Women’s Tag-Team Championships
Katana Chance & Kayden Carter (C) vs. Alba Fyre
We see a graphic promoting our women’s tag-title main event, which Vic Joseph promotes one final time before we head into another commercial break.
After we return from the break, we hear Vic Joseph and Booker T run down the action scheduled for next week’s show. We then see more replays of what just transpired between Grayson Waller and Bron Breakker and the duo promotes their steel cage match for NXT Vengeance Day while promoting the rest of the card for the Feb. 4 premium live event.
Now we see the ring entrance of the NXT Women’s Tag-Team Champions and out comes Katana Chance and Kayden Carter. They settle inside the ring. Their opponent, Alba Fyre, is also in the ring and now the bell sounds to get this one off-and-running.
Before anything happens, we see Sol Ruca make her way down to the ring from the back and she steps up onto the ring apron and is in the corner of Fyre now, as she will apparently be the impromptu tag-team partner of Fyre for this women’s tag-team title main event.
We see Fyre get off to a good start, taking it to the champs by herself and faring quite well early on. Fyre doesn’t seem interested in making a tag, so Ruca ends up tagging herself in. Ruca picks up where Fyre left off, taking it to the champs in dominant fashion.
Ruca throws one-half of the champs out to the floor at ringside and Fyre follows up by ramming her into the steel ring steps with authority. On that note, we head to a mid-match commercial break as our headline bout of the evening continues.
As we settle back in from the break, we see Fyre and Ruca actually faring well as a tandem, however the champs end up shifting the offensive momentum back into their favor. After the human highlight reel Katana Chance hits a flipping high-spot off the top-rope, we see the champs retain their titles with the pin fall victory.
Winners and STILL NXT Women’s Tag-Team Champions: Katana Chance & Kayden Carter
Kiana James & Fallon Henley Extend Vengeance Day Challenge
Once the match wraps up, we see Alba Fyre walk past Sol Ruca and head to the back. After that, Kiana James and Fallon Henley stand in the rafters and say they will see Chance and Carter at Vengeance Day, confirming the women’s title match mentioned earlier in the show.
Wes Lee Sits Down With Dijak
Now we shoot to a vignette that shows Wes Lee approaching Dijak in a dark room. He sits down and lays his NXT North American Championship belt across the table. Dijak gives him his final chance to hand the title over now and save himself punishment at NXT Vengeance Day.
Wes Lee says he might be able to prevent some pain at Vengeance Day but mentions the “stupid” decisions he’s made in his already tough life that led to the success he is enjoying today and the love he’s also enjoying from the fans.
Lee tells Dijak he doesn’t have to like this but he will respect it. Dijak says unfortunately for Lee he doesn’t deal in sob stories, but instead in justice. The segment wraps up on that note.
Cora Jade Is Better Than Bird-Brain Lyra Valkyria
We shoot to McKenzie Mitchell who is standing by with Cora Jade. “The Resident Mean Girl of NXT” talks about the “bird-brain” Lyra Valkyria and says she’ll never be better than her.
She notices a black feather that Valkyria left her in her locker room but before she can speak further, Mitchell informs us that something is going down in the parking lot.
Nikkita Lyons Attacked
Now we shoot out to the parking lot to see what all the commotion is. We see that someone has attacked Nikkita Lyons.
She is laid out and screaming in pain in the parking lot when a couple of other women’s wrestlers run over to check on her and yell for help. On this note, we head to another commercial break.

NXT Vengeance Day Women’s Title Summit
Now it is time for our main event segment of this week’s NXT on USA, which is the previously advertised NXT Vengeance Day Women’s Title Summit featuring NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez and the Toxic Attraction duo of Jacy Jane and Gigi Dolin.
Vic Joseph runs down the advertised lineup as it stands for next week’s show and then sends things over to Booker T, who is in the ring where a table is shown with Toxic Attraction duo Jacy Jane and Gigi Dolin already seated.
Booker T then introduces the NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez and her music hits. She makes her way out and heads down to the ring. She settles inside the ring and takes a seat.
Now the NXT Vengeance Day Women’s Title Summit gets off-and-running. The entire thing for the first few minutes completely features only Dolin and Jane shooting on each other back-and-forth as Perez sits and watches. The two get more and more personal as they continue.
We hear Booker T chime in with his “Shucky Ducky Quack Quack” nonsense and then asks Roxanne Perez for her thoughts. The NXT Women’s Champion asks if he has any popcorn because honestly she is enjoying this. She then talks about karma is a toxic b*tch and mentions that’s what Jane and Dolin are experiencing.
The fans break out in a “Toxic B*tch” chant. Perez says she thought it was gonna be a handicap match at Vengeance Day but she can now see it will be an actual triple-threat. Jane and Dolin then point out that they only have to beat the other to take Perez’s title.
Finally Jane and Dolin lose their cool and stand up from the table. They get in each other’s face and talk some more trash before suddenly stopping and smiling, presumably revealing their issues with each other was a hoax and set up to throw Roxanne Perez off their toxic plan.
They end up attacking the NXT Women’s Champion. They hit a double chokeslam to put her through the table. They each grab onto the NXT Women’s title and hold onto it as they stand over the laid out Perez. That’s how this week’s show goes off the air. Thanks for joining us!
Get ready for another action-packed night of #WWENXT as we continue on the road to #VengeanceDay!
