NXT Is Now LIVE!
We may have never made it as wise men, but we’ve made it to Tuesday night! WWE NXT is now LIVE from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida! Vic Joseph and Booker T welcome us to tonight’s show as footage rolls of various Superstars arriving earlier today, with the commentary duo offering a few quick words before we cut to a video package setting the stage for what’s ahead. Cody Rhodes narrates the package hyping the return of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, featuring footage from past tournaments and, of course, the American Dream himself, Dusty Rhodes. Ah, Cody, this is how you remind me.
2026 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic First-Round Match: Los Americanos (Rayo Americano & Bravo Americano) vs. Noam Dar & Romeo Moreno
Dar & Moreno are out first to a nice pop, but it’s nothing quite like the reception for Los Americanos’ Rayo Americano & Bravo Americano! They get a great pop from the NXT faithful, who “Olé!” along with their music as the masked duo make their way to the ring. Both teams are in place, and we get our opening bell at 8:05pm! Both teams make use of quick tags in the opening minutes, with Los Americanos coming out hot and the NXT faithful eating it up. Dar & Moreno manage to slow the pace briefly, with both teams trading control through a series of working holds. Dar gets an early pin attempt on Rayo before the masked Superstar battles back, only for Dar to cinch in a submission hold and put Rayo in trouble. Bravo rushes in looking to make the save, but Moreno intercepts him and locks in a submission of his own, leaving both Americanos trapped! The first reader to spot this and comment “flavor flav” below can get an official The Results General autograph, for free. Bravo manages to escape and hoists Moreno up, slamming him down onto Dar to break his partner free! Los Americanos take over from there, working together to send Dar & Moreno spilling to the outside before breaking out a little bull dance in the ring. The Americanos charge ahead and wipe out their opponents on the floor, then return to the ring to dance and play to an absolutely loving NXT crowd as we head to our first commercial break of the night!
During the break, Dar tags in Moreno, but Los Americanos quickly seize control and isolate Moreno on their side of the ring for the bulk of the break, shutting down every attempt at escape. They eventually look for an ambitious double-team maneuver involving a Superplex with an Americano waiting on the apron, but Moreno escapes and sends both masked men crashing to the canvas as we return from break. Moreno crawls across the ring looking desperately for the tag, but Los Americanos cut him off and prevent the hot tag—at least for a few moments. Moreno finally reaches Dar, who comes in hot with jumping lariats and kicks! Dar takes on both Americanos, breaking out Dragon Screws and Snap Suplexes before locking Bravo in an Ankle Lock. Rayo tries to make the save, but Dar catches him with a Superkick before going right back to the Ankle Lock! Dar battles Bravo toward his corner and tags Moreno back in, allowing the pair to execute an innovative double-team stomp across Bravo’s spine! Moreno covers, but Bravo kicks out at two!
Bravo soon provides an impressive show of strength, getting both Dar and Moreno across his shoulders and spinning them around helicopter-style before finally sending both men crashing back to the canvas! Los Americanos climb opposite turnbuckles and launch themselves through the air, connecting with stereo Diving Headbutts! They follow with stereo kicks to Moreno and attempt another double-team maneuver, but this one goes awry when Moreno catches Rayo with a DDT while Dar takes Bravo out of the equation. This has turned into a fantastic match following the commercial break, with all four men unloading seemingly everything in the arsenal! Los Americanos double-team Dar until Moreno rushes in to make the save, setting off a frantic exchange of big moves from all four competitors. Rayo eventually wipes Moreno out on the floor, leaving Bravo alone with Dar in the ring. Bravo looks for a Tiger Driver, but Dar counters into a roll-up! Bravo then attempts a springboard maneuver, only for Dar to catch him in mid-air and immediately slap on the Ankle Lock! Bravo hangs on for several agonizing moments before finally escaping and planting Dar with a German Suplex, leaving both men down!
What a hell of a way to open the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic! Los Americanos regroup and combine to send Dar flying from the top rope with a Hurricanrana, with Rayo immediately following from another corner with a huge Splash! Dar somehow gets the shoulder up just in time! Moreno recovers and makes the tag, but Rayo turns his attention to Dar’s hand, manipulating the fingers before snapping them back in shades of Pete Dunne! Bah gawd, he’s focusing on the hand and digits! Pete Dunne is sitting somewhere quite proud of this performance! Rayo’s control doesn’t last, however, as Dar and Moreno regroup and combine a top-rope Death Valley Driver with a tandem takedown to finally put Los Americanos away at 8:19pm!
Your Winners, Noam Dar & Romeo Moreno! (14 minutes)
Vignette: Kendal Grey’s Therapy Session
Continuing what began last week, we get another vignette featuring Kendal Grey in a therapy session as she continues working through the emotional fallout from her injury. Grey admits that the injury has been triggering memories of a previous setback, but her therapist reminds her that she came back from that adversity and went on to win three championships. Grey remains despondent over losing the NXT Women’s Championship and admits she doesn’t know whether it will take weeks, months, or even years to recover. She then voices a much deeper fear: what if everything that makes Kendal Grey Kendal Grey is gone? Her therapist turns the question back on her, asking Grey to consider who Kendal Grey is when she isn’t competing. Grey sits with the question for a moment before admitting she doesn’t know. (This aired after Kali’s entrance/commercial break, and before Skylar’s entrance).
Singles Match: Kali Armstrong vs. Skylar Raye
Armstrong made her entrance prior to the commercial break and our preceding vignette, with Raye making her way out next as we return to the ring. Both women are ready to go, and we get our opening bell at 8:31pm! There isn’t much feeling-out here as Armstrong and Raye come out aggressively, battling one another into the corners before exploding into a frantic opening exchange. Both women keep the pedal firmly to the metal, repeatedly hitting the ropes and trying to beat the other to the next move. Raye gets the better of the first sustained exchange, using her speed to string together a series of crisp Arm Drags before sending Armstrong spilling out of the ring. An irritated Armstrong slaps the apron and immediately charges back inside, where the pace picks right back up as both women again rebound off the ropes!
This time, Armstrong puts an emphatic stop to Raye’s momentum, absolutely leveling her with a powerful Shoulder Tackle! Armstrong takes over from there, trading Raye’s speed for raw power as she unloads with heavy strikes and repeatedly blasts her opponent back down to the canvas. Armstrong follows with a beautiful Body Slam, planting Raye hard in the center of the ring, but Raye refuses to stay grounded for long. The two begin trading control once again as the match settles into a much more evenly matched battle, with Armstrong’s power and aggression running headlong into Raye’s speed and athleticism. This continues, sending us to some words from our sponsors! Throughout the break, Armstrong dominates with a noticeably slower, more methodical approach, grounding Raye and working the joints as she methodically picks her opponent apart. Raye finally creates some much-needed separation with a Backstabber as we return from break—and, for what it’s worth, these two are putting on a darn good match! Raye begins to fire up, stringing together shoulder thrusts and strikes as she builds momentum before planting Armstrong with a Satellite DDT! Raye heads upstairs and comes soaring off with a Split-Legged Frog Splash, getting some impressive Van Dam-level height on that one, but Armstrong manages to kick out at two!
Armstrong mounts a comeback of her own, planting Raye into the canvas with a big Spinebuster before looking for a Lawn Dart, but Raye wiggles free! Raye heads upstairs again and takes flight, only to dive directly into a brutal Powerslam from Armstrong! Kali hits the ropes to build momentum and comes charging back with a massive Shoulder Tackle—but Raye moves, and Armstrong absolutely wipes out the referee! With the official down, Reina Volcan hits the ring from behind and lays out both Armstrong and Raye! By the time Reina is finished, both women are down, with Raye’s arm conveniently draped across Armstrong. The recovering referee sees the “cover” and counts the fall at 8:40pm! Great match and absolutely worth watching, even with the chaotic finish!
Your Winner, Skylar Raye! (9 minutes)
Women’s Tag Team Match: NXT Women’s Champion Kelani Jordan & NXT Women’s North American Champion Zaria vs. AAA Reina de Reinas Champion La Catalina & Thea Hail
La Catalina & Hail make their way out together to a great reaction from the NXT faithful. Their opponents are out next, with NXT Women’s North American Champion Zaria making her entrance first, followed by NXT Women’s Champion Kelani Jordan. All four Superstars are in place and ready to go, and we get our opening bell at 8:52pm! Hail wastes absolutely no time, charging across the ring at the opening bell and leaping onto Zaria! The powerhouse manages to carry Hail back toward her corner, where she tags in Jordan and finally frees herself from the energetic Hail. Jordan and Hail trade control through a quick back-and-forth exchange before Hail brings La Catalina into the match. Hail & La Catalina immediately put their chemistry to work, combining to take Jordan down before sending a charging Zaria spilling to the outside!
Hail then gets creative, standing on the middle rope and pushing it down while pulling the top rope up to create an opening for her partner. La Catalina takes full advantage, launching herself through the ropes with a Suicide Dive that wipes out both champions on the floor! Hail & La Catalina are firmly in control as we head to some words from our sponsors! Zaria & Jordan take control for an extended stretch, isolating Hail and using frequent tags to keep themselves fresh while setting up several double-team attacks. Hail repeatedly comes within inches of escaping, but the champions find a way to drag her right back into their corner. At one point, Hail appears to finally have a clear path toward La Catalina, only for Zaria to cut her in half with a Spear just as she’s about to make the hot tag! The champions eventually get a little too ambitious with another attempted double-team maneuver, however, allowing Hail to send both women spilling to the outside. With nobody between her and salvation, Hail begins a long, dramatic crawl across the ring toward an eagerly awaiting La Catalina—but Jordan once again cuts her off before she can get there! Hail refuses to quit, catching Jordan with a low-angle Jawbreaker to finally create some separation. Jordan tags Zaria back in, and the powerhouse charges across the ring looking for a Cannonball on Hail in the corner—but Hail moves! Zaria crashes hard into the turnbuckles, and this time there is nobody left to stop Hail from finally making the hot tag!
La Catalina explodes into the ring and, despite competing on Raw in Texas just last night and traveling hundreds of miles to get here, somehow looks fresh as a daisy! Catalina cleans house with Dropkicks for everyone before bringing Hail back into the match. Catalina and Jordan subsequently wipe each other out and tumble to the floor, leaving Hail alone with Zaria. Zaria looks to finish things with an F5, but Hail wiggles free and catches the champion in a sudden roll-up! Hail steals it at 9:01pm!
Your Winners, La Catalina & Thea Hail! (9 minutes)
Backstage: Sean Legacy & Zilla Fatu
Backstage, Fatu is trying to fire Legacy up ahead of their match later tonight. Legacy brings up the absence of Dorian Van Dux, explaining that his partner has a hole in his lung and isn’t medically cleared to compete. Say his name and he appears! Van Dux walks into frame and insists he’s good to go, arguing that it’s only a small hole in his lung. His teammates aren’t buying that argument and remind him that NXT medical officials won’t allow him to compete until he’s cleared. EK Prosper, who will take Van Dux’s place tonight, joins the group and reassures Van Dux that they’ve got this—they’ll bring home the victory tonight.
In the Ring: Cruz Montana Speaks, Gets Interrupted
Cruz Montana makes his way through the NXT faithful and heads toward the ring as we make our way to some words from our sponsors! After the break, Montana is standing in the ring with a microphone. He reminds us that he made some promises when he arrived in NXT, and so far, he hasn’t lived up to them. Montana reminisces about his father before turning his attention toward the NXT Championship, saying that whoever walks out as champion after Mason Rook and Grayson Waller throw hands needs to know that—he’s interrupted byDarkState!
DarkState interrupt from various spots throughout the NXT faithful, with Dion Lennox telling Montana that nobody cares about what he’s done or what he plans to do. DarkState are going to run through the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, and as far as Lennox is concerned, Cruz Montana is nothing. Montana laughs off the insult, calls Lennox a bum and challenges him to come say it to his face! Lennox obliges, hopping the barricade and making his way toward ringside.
Lennox gives Montana his flowers first, acknowledging that in TNA, Cruz was the guy, and that he’s won championships around the world. But Lennox says there’s a reason athletes like him are coming into NXT and taking over. He represents discipline and structure. Nobody has ever cleaned up his mistakes for him, and he’s worked far too hard to let somebody else clean up his mess now. Lennox then takes issue with Montana proclaiming EK Prosper the future of NXT last week, admitting he simply can’t relate to someone like Prosper.
Montana asks if Lennox’s feelings are hurt because of what he said about EK. He then makes one thing perfectly clear: the only person who has ever cleaned up Cruz Montana’s mistakes is the man he’s looked at in the mirror every single day. Montana says he’s busted his ass, learned from some of the best in the game and paid his dues every step of the way. He’s earned everything he’s been blessed with, both inside and outside of the ring, so as far as Lennox is concerned, “You ain’t got nothing on me, homeboy.”
Montana isn’t finished. He tells Lennox that all of that athletic ability he loves bragging about won’t stop Montana from running circles around his ass in the ring, on the microphone and in every other aspect of this business. Montana points out that Lennox walked into professional wrestling only after things didn’t work out elsewhere. He couldn’t cut it in the NFL, and they didn’t want him either! Montana says nobody ever slid into his Instagram messages offering him a tryout—he had to earn his way here every single step of the journey, and there isn’t a damn thing Lennox or anybody else can do about it! Montana proudly says he carries his family, his city and his culture on his back before telling Lennox to get the hell out of his face!
Lennox stops him before he can leave—and then goes way below the belt. He brings up Montana’s mother and her past as a drug dealer, contrasting Montana’s upbringing with his own path. Lennox says he did everything right: athlete, education, NFL training camp. He did things so right that WWE practically begged him to come here. Yet somehow, Montana is the one these people love while they despise Dion Lennox. Why? Because Lennox wasn’t a drug addict like Montana? Lennox twists the knife one final time, telling Montana that he had to lose everything just to become somebody, while “I’ve been somebody my whole life.”
And it appears that that’s enough! Montana launches himself at Lennox and the fight is on! The two trade blows as officials swarm the ring and desperately attempt to pull them apart, but good luck with that! Montana and Lennox break loose and continue throwing hands all the way up the aisle, eventually brawling their way backstage as the segment comes to a chaotic end!
2026 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic First-Round Match: The Creed Brothers (Julius Creed & Brutus Creed) vs. Harley Riggins & Jax Presley
We get our opening bell at 9:22pm! Unfortunately, technical difficulties plague the opening minutes of the match, beginning with audio issues before we lose the video feed entirely and are greeted by a “Technical Difficulties” card. When the action finally returns, Harley Riggins—paying a little homage to Kevin Nash with his ring gear—is on fire! The big man takes to the skies with an impressive maneuver off the top rope, showing some remarkable agility for a man his size. The Creeds weather the brief storm, however, quickly regain control and put Riggins & Presley away at 9:25pm! to advance in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Sorry, folks! This was an ultra-short match made even shorter for those of us watching at home thanks to the broadcast difficulties.
Your Winners and Advancing in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, The Creed Brothers! (3 minutes)
Six-Man Tag Team Match: Zilla Fatu, Sean Legacy & EK Prosper vs. BirthRight (Lexis King, Uriah Connors & Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo)
Prior to this, we get a Progressive rewind or whatever it’s called. It recapped Myles Borne’s second betrayal of Tavion Heights last week. When we cut to the ring, Zilla Fatu is on his way out, accompanied by Sean Legacy & EK Prosper. Their opponents are already in the ring and we get our bell at 9:34pm! Legacy and Stacks start us off, with Legacy quickly taking control and planting Stacks with a series of slams before looking for a Leg Drop. Stacks escapes, and from there the referee gives both teams plenty of latitude as tags begin coming fast and furious, with all six men getting involved in a frantic series of athletic exchanges. Prosper eventually tags in and goes to work with Uriah Connors before Lexis King enters the fray and begins battering Prosper with a rapid-fire combination of kicks and strikes. King charges in looking for a Running Boot on the seated Prosper, but Prosper avoids it and immediately fires back with another flurry of strikes! Prosper makes the tag to Fatu, drawing a big reaction from the NXT faithful!
Fatu comes in throwing bodies around, planting his opposition with a Scoop Slam—and another! All three members of BirthRight attempt to swarm Fatu, but Zilla initially fights them off by himself! The numbers eventually catch up with him, allowing BirthRight to take control and attempt to isolate the powerhouse. Fatu spends an extended stretch essentially fighting this thing one-on-three before finally creating some breathing room with a Belly-to-Belly Suplex, followed by a Stinger Splash in the corner! Fatu tags Prosper, who quickly brings Legacy back into the action, and all three men combine to overwhelm Stacks!
Prosper then launches himself through the ropes to wipe out BirthRight on the floor, with Legacy following right behind him! Apparently two dives aren’t enough for these guys, though. Fatu, Legacy & Prosper regroup inside the ring, hit the ropes together and all three take flight with simultaneous Tope Con Giros, wiping out the entirety of BirthRight at ringside! Holy hell, what a visual! The NXT faithful are on their feet after that one as we head to some words from our sponsors at 9:38pm!
We return from the break to find Stacks and Prosper slugging it out in the center of the ring! Prosper catches Stacks with a Stunner and follows with a kick that drops him, then hooks the leg, but Lexis King rushes in to break up the pin! Fatu enters and promptly sends King out of the ring before launching himself through the ropes with a Suicide Dive to wipe him out on the floor! Back inside, Stacks and Prosper continue to battle until Connors tags in and plants Prosper with a Sit-Out Powerbomb for a close two-count!
Connors keeps Prosper grounded with a Sleeper Hold in the middle of the ring, but Prosper quickly battles back to a vertical base and begins driving shots into the ribs in an effort to break free. Connors weathers the resistance and eventually tags Stacks back into the match, but their attempt at some tandem offense backfires when Stacks inadvertently sends Connors directly into a Big Boot from Prosper! That’s the opening EK desperately needed! Prosper dives and rolls across the ring to make the hot tag to Fatu, and Zilla comes in like a one-man wrecking crew! Fatu tears through BirthRight with a Uranage, a Bubba Bomb and a Seated Driver as the NXT faithful come alive!
King tries slapping Fatu across the face, which turns out to be a remarkably poor life decision. An enraged Fatu turns his attention toward King before Connors tags back in and charges straight at him, only for Fatu to Pop-Up Connors over his head and send him crashing hard to the canvas behind him! Fatu takes King out next before bringing Prosper back into the match—or at least he tries to. The referee is distracted by Arianna Grace at ringside—and, hey, who can fault him?—and completely misses the tag!
The confusion gives BirthRight the opening they need. Legacy takes flight, but Connors gets his knees up to counter the diving attack before catching Legacy in a quick roll-up! The referee makes the count, and BirthRight steals this one at 9:45pm!
Your Winners, BirthRight! (11 minutes)
After the Match
King continues jawing at Fatu from ringside before stepping close enough to slap him across the face! Fatu responds in the only reasonable way a member of the Fatu family knows how—by planting King with a Samoan Spike! Zilla looks ready to inflict even more damage, but the rest of BirthRight drag King out of the ring and retreat with him before Fatu can get his hands on him again.
Backstage Interview: Emily Agard & NXT Women’s North American Champion Zaria
Backstage, Emily Agard attempts to speak with NXT Women’s North American Champion Zaria about her upcoming title defense, but the interview is suddenly interrupted by what appears to be old home-video footage of a much younger Zaria performing in a school play! An embarrassed and furious Zaria storms away, leaving Agard behind as Izzi Dame arrives to pour a little salt in the wound. Dame mocks Zaria for apparently having no friends in high school before proudly declaring herself NXT’s resident mean girl.
NXT Championship Face-to-Face: Grayson Waller & Mason Rook
NXT Champion Grayson Waller makes his way to the ring at 9:52pm and is soon joined by No. 1 Contender Mason Rook. Rook initially goes to grab a microphone, but Waller stops him, saying he doesn’t need one—and wouldn’t know how to use it anyway! Waller instead begins by restating the goals he set when he returned to NXT. First, he wanted to win the NXT Championship. Tick. Then he promised to defend it against the very best, and Waller readily admits that Rook qualifies. Nobody in NXT is hungrier than Mason Rook. Har har.
Waller says that, as crazy as it sounds, he and Rook actually have quite a lot in common. Both men left their friends, families, lives and comforts behind to move across the world and chase their dreams. That’s about where the similarities end. Waller points out that Rook has only been away from home for six months and jokes that the big man practically has to run to the front door whenever his DoorDash order arrives. Waller says he could stand there and roast Rook like a pig all night, but the NXT Championship means far too much to him to take his challenger lightly. Waller admits that nobody on the planet moves the way Rook does at his size, and he knows Rook is John Cena’s favorite wrestler. Waller turns toward the camera to address Cena directly, warning him that he’s betting on the wrong horse.
What disappoints Waller, however, is what he believes Rook lacks beneath all that potential. He doesn’t believe Rook is willing to put in the work or make the necessary sacrifices, calling his challenger soft, complacent and simply happy to be here. Waller points to last week as proof: while the champion was out running a half marathon, Rook came jogging into the Performance Center looking like King Kong. Waller promises to take Rook into the deepest waters of his career next week and drown him there. He methodically runs through the various parts of Rook’s massive anatomy that will eventually beg him to stop—and when that moment comes, Waller promises that Rook will quit.
Waller finally decides it’s time to let his challenger speak. He tells Rook that he’s about to hand him something apparently very difficult for the NXT roster to use properly: a microphone. Waller suggests Rook find his balls and actually talk to him before offering one final piece of advice: don’t eat the microphone. It’s not a drumstick.
Rook finally gets his chance. He tells Waller he’s not an idiot and knows exactly what the champion is trying to do: bait him into trading insults so Waller can stage a “verbal execution” of him. But perhaps Rook will give it a shot. Maybe there’s a theory as to why Waller is suddenly back in NXT. Maybe Waller simply didn’t fit the vision of the main roster. Or maybe he’s upset because John Cena knew who Mason Rook was before Rook had even stepped foot inside a WWE ring!
Rook stops there, however, telling Waller that this is his game—and Rook isn’t going to play it. Instead, he wants to know what’s going to happen when there isn’t a microphone in Waller’s hand, a camera for him to hide behind or anything else standing between the champion and his challenger. Rook says he isn’t here because he wasn’t good enough somewhere else; he’s here because he earned the right to become a WWE Superstar. He boldly declares himself the best big man in the game and admits that Waller may be undeniably great at running his mouth, but none of that will matter when Rook gets his hands around Waller’s neck and starts crushing his lungs. I’m reasonably certain that’s not where the lungs are located, buddy, but the point has been made!
Rook finishes by promising that next week, when the talking finally stops, there won’t be anybody there to save Waller’s sorry ass. The NXT faithful erupt for the challenger—solid work on the microphone from the rookie! Waller and Rook continue jawing at one another off-mic as Vic Joseph hypes their NXT Championship showdown next week. Speaking of next week…
