Escobar notes that the title was recently defended at Takeover for the first time. They’ve taken on and taken out everyone, such as Jake Atlas, Ashante “Thee” Adonis, Isaiah “Swerve” Scott, and others. They ask who’s next and Curt Stallion is mentioned, and shown. He recently became the new #1 contender on WWE 205 Live but Santos isn’t worried. They go on and brag about how when they say they’re going to do something, it gets done. They toast a drink as the segment ends.

Inside The Ring – Undisputed Era
Back inside the ring, The Undisputed Era takes the mic and are tired of hearing people claim they’re taking the show over. They’ve hears this numerous times and now McAfee and his guys are saying it. Cole wishes McAfee was here tonight but he’s a giant coward so Cole can’t say this in his face. Cole says the best thing besides kicking McAfee’s head off last week will be in two weeks when he’s trapped inside of WarGames. They all joke about beating up McAfee, Pete Dunne, and NXT Tag Team Champions Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch last week.
Cole mentions tonight’s Ladder Match for the WarGames advantage, and how they have to focus on this.
Cole says McAfee picked Dunne for tonight’s match, but fortunately he doesn’t know who he’s going up against. O’Reilly says we all saw what happened at Halloween Havoc, so he needs to fight Dunne tonight. He needs it. They all have no problem with it and Cole says he loves this angry O’Reilly.
Cole goes on and says at WarGames they will fight a different Undisputed Era. For too long they have fought for titles and bragging rights, but this time they are fighting to drag the other four through absolute hell, and prove who the hell The Undisputed Era is. Cole says they will make sure McAfee and his guys are never the same after WarGames, and that is undisputed. The Undisputed Era poses together as they drop the mics and the music hits.

The bigger man reverses, but gets knocked flat with a drop kick. He heads to the apron. Kushida tries for a springboard move, but gets caught and Thatcher hooks his calf over the rope. He holds it until the break and the Japanese Superstar is writhing in pain as we go to commercial.
As we return from commercial break, the two continue their striking exchange, but both men clearly look worse for wear. Thatcher locks in a submission, but can’t hold it and Kushida is able to land a Stomp on Thatcher. Kushida then works for the Hoverboard Lock, but Thatcher keeps his hands together to block the hold. The American grabs an arm himself, and they begin countering back and forth.
Lots of back and forth action as the two attempt to lock in submissions on one another as they make their way around the ring. Finally, Double Under hooks Suplex by Thatcher, Ciampa throws his chair back and stands up. Kushida locks in the Hoverboard Lock, forcing Thatcher to tap out to Kushida’s submission!
We see Kevin Owens and Vic Joseph as they discuss last week’s NXT Women’s Championship Match between Rhea Ripley and Io Shirai. We are then sent into a video package highlighting the back and forth actions leading up to the match up and then after the match.
Video Clip – Rhea Ripley and Io Shirai Discuss Last Week’s Match
Ripley admits Shirai can take an “ass whooping” as the match was stopped as a medic checked Shirai, and Shirai continued the match anyway.
Ripley states that being slammed through the announcer’s table really messed her up, but she wasn’t going to be counted out, so she re-entered the ring, but unfortunately, she was unable to stand, and three seconds later, Shirai was still champion. Ripley asks herself, “Where do I go from here?” to end the clip.
Backstage – Pat McAfee and Pete Dunne
First, Mitchell catches up with McAfee’s team. Dunne says he say what Kyle did to Finn Balor, but if he’d done it, he’d put Finn out for two years, not two months. Oney Lorcan says that the ERA has never lost a WarGames advantage match, but Pete is gonna change that tonight. Danny Burch agrees, and Dunne says they’re gonna end Undisputed.
In Arena – Kevin Owens
As we return to the arena, Kevin Owens welcomes us back to the Capitol Wrestling Center. He mentions how he was back for WarGames last year and he’s back tonight to commentate. Basically, anytime NXT asks him to be here, he will be. Then he brings out his guest… North American champ Leon Ruff!
NXT North American Champion Leon Ruff Enters
An excited champ enters the ring, and Owens says he knew he was coming back, but after watching Leon the last couple weeks, he knew he had to give him a chance to tell his story. Ruff says he’s always dreamed of being a WWE Superstar, and it blows his mind he went from signing his contract seven weeks ago to winning the title. KO shows the clip of the belt falling off his waist, and Ruff says it was embarrassing.
Owens says the same thing happened to him when he won the NXT championship – he was too svelte. Leon laughs and puts over KO. The belt is a “yes” for every “no” he’s ever heard. He wants to be an inspiration to people like him. Owens hears him, but he says he needs to say it with conviction, because if people backstage sense weakness. Ruff puffs up, boasting about how he beat Johnny Gargano twice.
Johnny Gargano Joins The KO Show
Kevin starts to shake his head, as a former NXT’er, Owens already knows that anytime someone’s name is said on this show, they show up shortly thereafter. As expected, Johnny Gargano’s music sounds. He’s furious, and wants to know if this is a prank show. KO gets him a chair that he throws out of the ring. KO gets another one, and Gargano says he said he doesn’t want a chair.
Damian Priest Joins The KO Show
Owens says it’s not for him, and Gargano then coincidentally mentions Damian Priest helping Ruff, and on cue, the Archer of Infamy makes his way out to join Owens, Ruff, and Gargano. Owens politely offers Priest a seat, however Priest insists is good. He taunts Johnny for losing to Ruff twice, and Johnny goes after Leon, saying he can’t beat him one-on-one. Priest mentions he’s never had a rematch for the NA belt. Owens says if only NXT had a Teddy Long to come out and make a Triple Threat.
General Manager William Regal Joins The KO Show
After a brief pause, we then welcome General Manager William Regal as he shows up and books the match for TakeOver. He even throws in a “playa”.
Finn Balor Promo
We head into a previous recorded promo from Finn Balor. Balor declares he came back and set the stage for war. He’ll be ready for whoever wins. Anyone who has a problem, he ain’t hard to find. That champion works Wednesdays.
WarGames Promo – Ft. Shotzi Blackheart
Another WarGames promo from Shotzi Blackheart’s welding garage.
Cameron Grimes vs. Jake Atlas
Both competitors make their way to the ring for the next match-up of the evening for tonight’s NXT on USA Network. The referee signals for the bell and the match is officially underway! Fast-paced start and each man lands some shots. Jake tries for an arm and gets grabbed for a German Suplex that leads into a cover. Grimes gets a two count. Cameron stomps away in the corner, but Atlas grabs the ropes on a whip and lands some kicks on Grimes. Takedown with a bridge for two. German followed by a forearm gets another near fall for Atlas. Back on their feet they trade shots. Grimes hits a standing Spanish Fly, then the Cave-In ends it.
Winner: Cameron Grimes
After the Match
Immediately following the match, we get the “To The Moon” celebration with Grimey. The celebration is cut short as Dexter Lumis appears behind Grimes.
Grimes stumbles up the ramp, and Dexter points to the screen for a combination of his art and video from the Haunted House match. Then he throws a strap at Grimes and stares. Cameron says he won’t get him strapped, but I think you can tell where this is headed.
In-Ring – Rhea Ripley
As we head to commercial break, we hear the entrance theme for Rhea Ripley sound in the arena as Ripley makes her way down the ramp towards the ring.
Backstage w/ William Regal & Cameron Grimes
Grimes has been summoned to Regal’s office. Grimes says he’s an important man and has places to be. Regal tells Grimes that the NXT Universe wants to see Grimes take on Lumis, and Regal thinks Lumis’ idea of a strap match is great. He makes it official–Lumis vs Grimes in a Strap Match at WarGames!
Rhea Ripley Addresses Her Future
As we return to the ring, we see Rhea Ripley is already standing inside the ring. Ripley compliments Io Shirai. Rhea mentions that the hug after the match last week was nothing but respect for Io Shirai. She says that they respect each other, but it wasn’t any kind of sending off party.
Rhea continues on to state that she’s here and she’s here to stay, and she’s focused on one thing and will not stop!
Candice LeRae & Toni Storm
“Are you kidding me?” Candice LeRae & Toni Storm come out. Candice mocks Rhea, and tells her to tell the fans how much harder she’s gonna try next time. LeRae says the difference between Ripley and LeRae is that Io stole two victories from LeRae with help, however LeRae was able to beat Ripley all by herself.
“Besides that, the biggest difference between us…you, talky talky talky talky talk, but can’t seem to back it up. I, on the other hand, can talk the talk and walk the walk.” She’s joined by Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai, with an unconscious Io Shirai on her shoulder. Team Kai then rush into the ring. Ripley slides out and takes out Raquel and Dakota at ringside, then Ripley slides back in the ring to handle both Toni Storm and Candice LeRae!
Team LeRae beats Ripley down, as it’s clearly an unfair fight with four on one, with Io Shirai motionless on the ramp. Raquel Gonzalez slams Ripley, then proceeds to slam Ripley into the ring post.
The group then takes their time beating her down before Team LeRae leaves and walks up the ramp. They stand over the fallen Shirai, smiling at the ring as Rhea Ripley holds her right shoulder and rolls in pain. We go to break.
Video Package: Xia Li, Boa, “Master” & “the Emperor”
We see them in the car. They exit and see an older Asian man and walk over, bowing and calling him Master. He nods and opens the door to a storage unit, it looks like. They come in and kneel before a cloaked figure who resembles the Emperor from Star Wars. They’re now begging for one more chance, begging for mercy. The “Emperoro” holds up a finger and the “Master” yells at them to shut up. He then marks their hands with a symbol in black ink and we cut to the ring.
Match: Ever Rise vs. ??
Ever Rise are in the ring but before a match can begin, Zack Gibson & James Drake–better known as the Grizzled Young Veterans from NXT UK–show up and take them out. They get on the mic and tell everyone to remember who they are.
Backstage w/ Johnny Gargano & Candice LeRae
They’re asked about what LeRae just did. LeRae and Gargano talk about building their careers, and that Gargano is going to win his title back. They get in their car and drive off with another Ghostface in the backseat, and commentary remark it’s not Indi Hartwell this time.
WarGames Advantage Ladder Match
Pete Dunne vs. Kyle O’Reilly
Out first for this main event match up is Undisputed Era’s Kyle O’Reilly. As O’Reilly makes his way down the ramp and enters the ring, commentator Vic Joseph explains the rules for this main event match (whomever retrieves the case hanging above the ring will give their team the WarGames advantage.) The other members of the Undisputed Era are seen cheering O’Reilly on from a platform behind the ring.
Then we see Danny Burch & Oney Lorcan in their own platform raised behind the ring. Pete Dunne then makes his way into the ring. Kyle O’Reilly wastes no time attacking him and sending him from the ring. Dunne paces by the ladder as we go to break.
As we return from commercial break, both Dunne and O’Reilly are at ringside. Dunne levels O’Reilly but misses as he charges, nailing the barrier. A ladder comes into play at ringside as Dunne keeps O’Reilly down. Dunne bridges a ladder from the apron to the barrier. O’Reilly stops Dunne from slamming him on it. O’Reilly takes Dunne out at ringside and works him over.
Dunne is sent face-first into the barrier as O’Reilly climbs a ladder in the middle of the ring. O’Reilly goes for the briefcase, but Dunne shoves it over and O’Reilly lands hard. Dunne ends up climbing but O’Reilly nails a Dragon Screw leg whip through the ladder leg.
O’Reilly works on the leg some more and tips the ladder over. Dunne climbs a leaning ladder in the corner, and flips off it but O’Reilly catches the leg. Dunne counters with an Enziguri. Dunne goes on and powerbombs O’Reilly hard onto the ladder in the corner. Fans chant “NXT!” now. Dunne stomps away while holding O’Reilly’s arms, while O’Reilly is laying on part of the ladder bridge from the apron to the barrier. O’Reilly comes back with another Dragon Screw leg whip.
More back and forth on the apron as they trade shots. Dunne hits a huge Suplex on the ladder bridge that goes from the apron to the barrier. They both go crashing through the ladder, snapping it in half. Fans chant “holy s–t!” as we go back to commercial.
As we return from commercial break, the crowd is still chanting, “NXT! NXT!” Commentary takes us into a replay from before the commercial break where O’Reilly was sent through the ladder and the crowd began a “This is awesome!” chant. Back to the ring, Dunne looks for the Bitter End counter. O’Reilly puts Dunne to sleep, but is forced to let go as his wrist is injured. Undisputed Era and Burch & Lorcan look on in awe from their podiums. O’Reilly heads to the top turnbuckle and goes for a Flying Knee off the top, Dunne rolls off the ladder as O’Reilly’s full weight slams his knee cap into the ladder rungs.
Dunne begins to set up the ladder, with only one working leg. Dunne makes it to the fourth or fifth rung when O’Reilly returns with an Ankle Lock to the injured leg of Dunne. Dunne writhes in pain on the canvas. O’Reilly crawls towards the ladder. Both superstars are under the ladder as they exchange blows. Both struggle to their feet, Dunne manipulating the fingers of O’Reilly. O’Reilly pulls Dunne into the ladder, slamming his face and body into the metal. O’Reilly falls back onto the ropes in exhaustion. Dunne shoves the ladder into O’Reilly who catches it and then counters, throwing it back into the face of Dunne. The crowd begins another, “NXT! NXT!” chant.
O’Reilly begins to will himself up the ladder, as does Dunne as the two are neck in neck on the ladder as they exchange blows. Dunne is to the top of the ladder, O’Reilly at the bottom of the ladder. Dunne reaches his hands up onto the briefcase, O’Reilly blocks, Dunne sends O’Reilly off the ladder. O’Reilly answers back with an Enzuguri. The crowd begins to chant, “This is awesome! This is awesome!”
Dunne lands O’Reilly over the barricade, then returns to the ring. Dunne climbs the ladder and is closing in when suddenly O’Reilly returns and Dunne is sent from the ladder. O’Reilly climbs the ladder, rung by rung when a hooded masked figure enters the ring and knocks O’Reilly to the floor. Dunne re-sets up the ladder and begins to climb and reaches up, grabbing the briefcase for the win!
Winner: Pete Dunne
After the Match
We head into replays after we see Pete Dunne shrug as he holds the briefcase at the top of the ladder. The crowd continues to “Boo” the winner of this main event match up. Dunne celebrates with Lorcan and Burch as Undisputed Era members check on O’Reilly at ringside to end the show!
