WWE NXT RESULTS (6/10/20): WINTER PARK, FL.

NXT Opening

As we head into tonight’s edition of NXT on USA Network, we immediately head into a quick highlight video airing highlights and reactions from NXT TakeOver: In Your House” from this past Sunday’s pay-per-view.

Broadcaster’s Table

We head into the arena as the video package comes to an end and we are greeted by Mauro Ranallo, Beth Phoenix, and Tom Phillips on commentary for tonight’s show.

In-Ring – Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, and Roderick Strong

The commentary team send us over to the stage as Undisputed’s entrance theme sounds and we see Adam Cole, Bobby Fish and Roderick Strong make their entrance into the arena. They make their way down the ramp and enter the ring, clearly having something to say to start off tonight’s show.

Adam Cole grabs the microphone first, and he uptalks himself and brags about still being NXT Champion. Cole then reminds viewers that the stipulation of the Backlot Brawl (if Cole were the victor) was that Velveteen Dream can NO LONGER challenge Cole for the NXT Championship for however long Cole has the belt.

We then hear more from Cole as he continues to gloat and brag about how amazing he is, and how nobody would be able to take his championship away from him in the WWE. Cole even admits to the fact that his competitor this past weekend was a worthy opponent, however, “The problem is, he’s not Adam Cole bay-bay.”

Cole continues on, “Nobody is. The NXT Championship is around my waist, where it belongs.” Cole states, “Now that I’ve beaten him, what’s next for Adam Cole in NXT?” Cole answers his own question stating it doesn’t matter. Nobody will be able to beat him for this championship.

Cole then shifts topics stating now that Velveteen Dream is in the rearview, he would like to discuss Dexter Lumis. Cole is not pleased by the torture Lumis provided to Cole’s teammates and friends, Bobby Fish and Roderick Strong. Fish states, “He put us in a trunk for over 12 hours” to which Roderick Strong adds, “Right! And everybody knows how much I don’t like being put in trunks! Everybody!”

Fish and Cole look at Strong with an odd look on their face, but continue on. Strong points over Bobby Fish’s shoulder into the audience as he shouts, “There he is!” Adam Cole and Bobby Fish turn to look and there is no one but WWE talent audience members. They continue on about how Cole is going to not only beat Lumis, but he’s going to send Lumis back to where he belongs.

Cole finishes his statement by reiterating, “and that, is Undisputed.” The three superstars exit the ring and head up the ramp towards the stage.

The Undisputed superstars stop at the top of the ramp at the stage and do their pose as music plays us toward the first commercial break. Strong looks over toward the same area and once again he sees Dexter Lumis glaring at him.

Keith Lee & Mia Yim vs. Johnny Gargano & Candice LeRae

As we return from commercial break, we return to the arena just as the entrance theme for Keith Lee sounds and Lee steps to the stage, awaiting his partner to join him. Out next is Mia Yim as her music begins playing. Lee and Yim make their way down the ramp and enter the ring together as they await their opponents.

Out next is Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae together as their dark entrance theme music sounds. Gargano and LeRae make their way down the ramp and enter the ring to join Lee and Yim. The referee signals for the bell to start off tonight’s first match of the evening.

As all four stand in the center of the ring, LeRae and Gargano start trash talking Yim and Lee. LeRae walks towards Lee and points in his face as she shouts inaudible trash talk at him. Gargano is shouting trash-talk at Yim just feet away. Finally fed up with it, Lee delicately lifts LeRae and sets her gently on the canvas out of his face, Gargano notices and and attacks Lee from behind.

The Garganos temporarily have the upperhand as they both make their way to the top turnbuckle, however Lee catches Gargano and Yim catches LeRae. Both Garganos are upside down being held by their opponents, Johnny grabs the hands of Candice momentarily before both are Power Bombed to the canvas. Lariats to follow by Yim and Lee.

At this point, Gargano and LeRae quickly exit the ring and attempt to run away, but Lee got in the way. Yim then runs across the canvas in the ring and flies over the ropes, missing a Suicide Dive attempt, however she lands in Keith Lee’s arms for a cute moment, Yim looks into Lee’s eyes stating, “Thanks baby”.

Back to the action, we see LeRae in the ring dominating Yim in the corner with her go-to punch and slap combo. Yim hits LeRae with Seoul Foodm knocking LeRae out of commission momentarily. At this point, Lee tags in causing Gargano to have to get in. Lee hit Gargano with a Grizzly Magnum, he was selling his hand due to the hand injuries from last week’s NXT and at Takeover.

LeRae made a blind tag, but Lee lifted up LeRae too. LeRae helped Johnny escape by poking Lee in the eyes (what is it with this couple and taking out poor Lee’s vision?) Now Gargano hits Lee with an Enzuigiri while Lee is distracted. LeRae takes this opportunity to hit a DDT.

Yim not too pleased with LeRae messing with her man, entered the ring and gave LeRae a Dragon Suplex, followed by a pin attempt. Gargano enters and breaks up the pin attempt. Yim upset by this, turns her attention to Gargano, she proceeds to punch and kick Johnny. Yim goes for a Suplex on Johnny, however LeRae helped Johnny escape.

Yim then follows up landing German Suplexes on both LeRae and Gargano. LeRae hit Yim with Eat Defeat and a Lionsault for a pin attempt of her own. Yim kicks out at two. Yim pulled down the second rope to make Johnny spill to the outside. Yim then tangled LeRae in the ropes to hit her with roundhouse kicks.

Keith Lee then accidentally Pounced Johnny into Mia. Johnny took advantage of a distracted Keith by hitting him with One Final Beat. Keith was DDT’d on LeRae, knocking her out. The referee wouldn’t count the pin because it was a mixed tag. Keith Lee then tried to carry Candice to safety, but Johnny rolled up Lee for the victory.

Winners: Johnny Gargano & Candice LeRae

After the Match

We see Johnny head to his wife’s side and hold her hand up in victory (though LeRae is clearly knocked out)

“Indus Sher” Rinku and Saurav (w/ Malcolm Bivens) vs. Enhancement Talent

We see “Indus Sher” make their way to the ring accompanied by their manager Malcolm Bivens, their opponents already awaiting them inside the ring for tonight’s match-up. The referee signals for the bell, the bell rings and the match begins. Saurav starts things off as one of the enhancement wrestlers comes at him inside he ring.

Saurav toys with the legal man in, throwing him around the ring like a ragdoll. Saurav heads to the opposing apron, knocking the other talent off the apron for good measure. At this point, Rinku tags in to show what he’s got. Rinku heads towards the talent and lands a Splash on him in the corner. Then another Splash.

Regal (who is on Facetime via tablet) tells Drake he wants to speak with Grimes personally.

Cameron Grimes was chatting with two performance center female trainees. Grimes was bragging about how his jaw is fine and how he wants to hook up with the girls. Drake and William Regal saw this.

Grimes tried to act like his jaw hurt when Regal yelled at him. Regal said Grimes wasn’t getting away from his match against Balor. After Drake and McKenzie left, Grimes yelled at the girls, telling them to go away and how he doesn’t want them.
