Backstage Update On WWE Signing Talents

WWE Offering Double Pay For Certain Stars To Sign Contracts “On The Spot”

Most of WWE’s new legends contracts are for two years with a company option for either a one or two year “renewal” which they have to put into writing at least three months in advance.

WWE aims to keep legend appearances to below 12 per year so anything above and beyond that is compensated accordingly. Similar to active talent, legend deals also have 90 day non-compete language inserted into the contracts.

As was reported a couple months ago, given the current financial and competitive climate, WWE is very open to giving anyone – active wrestlers or legends – significant raises to remain with the company and we have heard wrestlers being offered double their salary and other on-camera contractors being offered up to a 50% raise if they signed “on the spot.”
