WWE RAW RESULTS (2/17): EVERETT, WA.
RAW Opening
Welcome to the President’s Day edition of Monday Night RAW! “In My Veins” begins playing as we pan the crowd in the Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett, Washington. Randy Orton makes his way to the stage.
Announcer’s Ringside
Commentators Jerry Lawler, Tom Phillips, and Byron Saxton stand ringside as they discuss tonight’s line up including the Drew McIntyre vs MVP match for later tonight. A first ever sermon from The Monday Night Messiah is scheduled for later in the show. Also “The Man” Becky Lynch bites back, warning Shayna she better hope she finds Becky before Becky finds her!
The three commentators remind fans of the events and highlights leading up to tonight’s Monday Night RAW. As they share multiple highlights leading to tonight’s explanation by Orton, they set up a video package that follows along with the events to remind fans what lead us to this point.
That included (but not limited to) the fact that two weeks ago on RAW, Orton brutally attacked Edge during his in-ring speech. Then one week ago, Matt Hardy came to the defense of Edge on RAW and received the same fate.
The crowd boos loudly as we go to the ring where Randy Orton has finished making his way down the ramp and is inside the ring. Orton stands in the center of the ring looking out into the crowd. The crowd begins a “You Suck” chant. (We go to a replay of last week’s Monday Night RAW where Matt confronted Randy Orton along with pictures of Edge, Christian, Matt, and Jeff Hardy from “back in the day” when the four were like brothers on the road for WWE.)
Inside the Ring – Randy Orton Responds to Matt Hardy
Orton begins to speak. Orton says the match between Matt Hardy and Randy Orton “is NOT going to happen”. Matt Hardy’s music sounds as Matt comes to the top of the ramp holding a microphone. Hardy says Orton should finally answer “What in the hell is wrong with you, Randy Orton?”
“What in the hell is wrong with you??” Matt Hardy’s voice is heard as the RKO by Orton is shown again. We re-enter the ring where the “You Suck” chant is still going strong.
Orton hesitates, but then begins to speak. Orton says the match between Matt Hardy and Randy Orton “is NOT going to happen tonight.” With that, Matt Hardy’s music sounds in the arena as Hardy shuffles (still visibly in pain from last week’s attack) to the center of the stage just at the top of the ramp holding a microphone. Hardy says Orton should finally answer “What in the hell is wrong with you, Randy Orton?”
The crowd starts a “What the hell?” chant. Hardy walks closer down the ramp as he tells Orton that he knows Orton wanted to take Hardy’s passion away from him. But Hardy said he’s not ready to end things yet, and he came here tonight to fight Orton – the crowd cheers in response to that.
Hardy notes that per the doctor’s decision, officials backstage wouldn’t clear him to fight tonight. Hardy however, says he is a man of his word, and much like Edge, he has grit.
Hardy ends saying he doesn’t know what the future holds for him or how his time in wrestling will end, but it will not be by Orton’s terms, it will be by his own terms. Orton shakes his head in disappointment as he tells Hardy he should have left last week while he could still leave on his own two feet. Orton says, “What are you gonna do? What could you do? What if I RKO’d you right here where you stand?”
Orton continues on saying Hardy won’t understand, no one will understand why he did what he did. Orton says he respects Hardy and he more than respects Edge, he loves him like a brother. Orton ends saying, “I am truly sorry” as he exits the ring and wipes his eyes as he makes his way back up the ramp, leaving Matt Hardy standing inside the ring alone, Orton’s music playing.
Orton stops mid-way up the ramp, removes his leather vest, and turns slowly looking back at the ring. Hardy anticipating whatever is to come, exits the ring, throwing in a steel chair, then yells to Orton, “finish me Randy, finish me”. The crowd begins chanting, “RKO!”
Hardy swings the chair at Orton (who is on the apron outside of the ropes), but misses. Orton grabs Matt around the neck and drops his body weight to the outside of the ring, causing Hardy’s neck to bounce off the top rope, knocking him to the mat. Hardy rolls around writhing in pain, holding his neck which is still covered by a neck brace. Orton then enters the ring, delivering an RKO to Hardy. The crowd begins chanting, “One more time!” Orton picks up the steel chair, beating Hardy’s back with it.
Orton continues his attack with the chair inside the ring. Orton leaves the ring to grab a second chair, throwing it in the ring, then rolling back in. Orton walks over to a seemingly lifeless Hardy. Orton removes Hardy’s neck brace and lifts the steel chair high above his head.
Orton stops momentarily, looking around the audience, looking at the officials, then throws the chair to the side. For that moment, it seems Orton IS in fact human, perhaps feeling remorse for the damage he has caused two of his former road dogs/friends?
Orton exits the ring, throwing the neck brace on his way out. Orton runs around the outside of the ring instead of walking up the ramp for an exit. Orton then slides in and grabs the lifeless arm of Matt Hardy, dragging him to the outside of the ring.
Orton pulls Hardy to the steel stairs leading to the ring, lifting the steel chair high above his head once again. Then bringing the chair down hard onto the head and neck of Matt Hardy. Orton is seen looking at Hardy as he says, “I’m Sorry, I’m Sorry…” as we go to commercial break.
Stunned silence as we return from the break. A replay from moments ago is shown. Matt Hardy is wheeled off on a gurney by paramedics as a child in the audience is shown crying with his hands covering his face, many fans in the crowd visibly shaken.
Moving forward, Erick Rowan’s music sounds.
Erick Rowan vs. Aleister Black
Erick Rowan makes his way to the ring first, carrying his mysterious covered cage as usual as he heads down the ramp towards the ring. Rowan sets the cage ringside, entering the ring. Aleister Black’s music sounds next as the arena lights dim. Black appears at the top of the ramp, walking towards the ring where Rowan awaits his opponent for tonight’s match up.
As Black makes his way to the stairs, he steps over the cage, seemingly unfazed by it’s contents. The bell rings and the match begins. Black with quick movements. Rowan keeping up with Black as the match heads to the outside of the ring. Black misses as he goes off the top rope to the outside. Rowan growls as we go back to commercial.
We return from the commercial break to Rowan crushing Black to the canvas as he goes for the pin. Black kicks out at two. Rowan drops multiple elbows to the chest of Black. Black covering his face in the corner of the ring. Rowan lifts Black from the outside, throwing Black into the barricade.
Rowan lifts Black once again, dropping Black onto the barricade, Black’s knees getting caught up in the fall. Rowan enters then exits the ring to break the count. Black flings Rowan face first into the ring post as the referee makes it to the count of seven. Black quickly enters the ring to break the count, then climbs to the top, facing the outside of the ring.
Black hits a high flying move onto Rowan who’s still on the outside. A little back and forth ringside as the referee once again begins the count. Both men make their way back in the ring. Black with a Running Knee Strike followed up by a cover. Rowan kicks out at two. Black goes for the Black Mass, Rowan blocks then counters with an Iron Claw attempt.
This time Black kicks out. Rowan hits a Power Bomb on Black for a pin attempt. Black kicks out at two. Rowan once again goes for the the Iron Claw, Black counters with the Black Mass. Somehow Rowan is still awake. Black lands a second Black Mass on Rowan for the three count win!
Winner: Aleister Black
Up Next… The Queen’s Decision. We go to commercial break.
The Queen’s Decision… Finally
As we come back from commercial break, Charlotte Flair’s music sounds as the pyro goes off at the top of the stage and shouts begin throughout the audience. “The winner of the 2020 Women’s Royal Rumble Match, Charlotte Flair!” is announced as Flair holds her hands high above her head before making her way down the ramp, entering the ring.
Flair steps to the center of the ring, pointing to the Wrestlemania sign in the corner of the arena. The crowd cheers, “Wooooo!!” Flair begins, “So I was in Portland last night, at NXT TakeOver.” A video recap is shown where Flair attacks Ripley from behind as she’s celebrating her win against Bianca Belair. Flair then says, “So I thought about it, and I’ll see you at Wrestlemania.”
We re-enter the ring where Flair says she wanted to know who told Ripley that she could come to Monday Night Raw and challenge The Queen. Flair continues on saying Ripley didn’t have to scratch her way to the top and earn the respect that NXT now has.
Then Ripley comes to Flair’s show, into Flair’s ring, and hold’s up Flair’s championship belt. Flair ends her rant, “Pride comes before the fall, and I’m going to humble you at Wrestlemania.” Flair adds, “And everyone is the next big thing… until they’re not. Woooo!” We go to commercial.
Triple Threat Match for WWE 24/7 Title
R-Truth vs. Mojo Rawley vs. Riddick Moss
As we come back from the commercial break, the announcers quickly mention the Gauntlet Match for the Tuwaiq Mountain Trophy at WWE Super ShowDown, then sharing tonight’s Triple Threat Match is already underway.
Riddick Moss hits the mat as R-Truth lands a move as we enter the ring, match already in progress. Truth then drops Rawley to the mat as well. Moss gets Truth into the corner where he hits several blows. Moss powers Truth to the mat, Rawley breaking the pin count before the referee hits three.
Announcer Tom Phillips announces the traditional 24/7 Title rules are currently suspended for this match. Rawley takes Moss to the floor before throwing him into the barrier. Perfectly executed Five Knuckle Shuffle by Truth. Rawley goes for the cover, Moss comes in out of nowhere and gets the cover on Mojo Rawley for the three count. Moss exits through the crowd as quickly as he came.
After the Match
Rawley begins shaking Truth by the face saying, “You see what you did??” Truth hits Rawley with a kick to the midsection followed by a kick to the back, dropping Rawley to the mat. Truth rolls out of the ring and makes his way up the ramp, smiling out to the fans.
“I see everyone is fired up tonight. That can only mean one thing… 48 days til Wrestlemania. I said the magic word, so I have to point to the sign. Charlotte Flair already did it, so I need to make it more interesting.” McIntyre asks all the fans in the Angel of the Winds Arena if they want to be on t.v.
McIntyre says he will do the Claymore countdown, then everyone will point to the sign. “Three, two, one… BOOM!” the entire audience along with McIntyre point to the Wrestlemania sign hanging in the corner of the arena. Hell yea! McIntyre is all smiles.
McIntyre continues on saying he is invading then demolishing Suplex City at Wrestlemania. Suddenly we hear, “Ladies and Gentleman…” over the speakers.
Ladies and Gentleman… Paul Heyman
Heyman once again declares, “Ladies and Gentleman…” then continues on, “my name is Paul Heyman.” The crowd chants his name along with him. Heyman then welcomes out Brock Lesnar. Nobody comes out. Heyman then says to McIntyre he just wanted to let him and the audience know what it sounds like to say, “And Still” before the word champion.
McIntyre says Heyman can say Brock Lesnar’s name over and over, before the match, at lunch, when they’re getting manicures together, and when he’s crying because McIntyre kicked his head off at Wrestlemania and took the WWE Championship.
Heyman responds by saying he respects McIntyre, that he’s a huge admirer of his talents. Heyman says he knows someone that isn’t such a huge admirer of McIntyre, who is also McIntyre’s challenger for tonight. Heyman ends saying, “Ladies and Gentleman, I give you… M.V.P.”
MVP begins by saying he treated McIntyre with respect, welcoming him to the VIP lounge, assuming they were friends. MVP finishes saying, “and how did you repay me?” McIntyre responds, “Oh, I know this one, by kicking your head off.” MVP fake smiles, telling McIntyre he has jokes. MVP tells McIntyre he hit him with a cheap shot.
MVP finishes by saying he won’t hit a cheap shot on McIntyre, then telling the referee to ring the bell. McIntyre turns to go to his corner and MVP gets a cheap shot on McIntyre, shoving him into the corner. The referee separates them.
Drew McIntyre vs. MVP
The bell rings and the match begins. McIntyre shoves MVP into the corner of the ring and hits a fury of right hands on MVP. McIntyre hits the Future Shock DDT on MVP. MVP is laid out on the mat. McIntyre looks to the crowd, “Three! Two! One!” as he hits the Claymore on MVP for the one, two, three and the win!!

Commentator’s Announcement
For the first time ever, a sermon from the Monday Night Messiah, when we come back from commercial break.
The Word, From Your Monday Night Messiah
As we come back from commercial break, The AOP and Buddy Murphy are welcomed by the announcer. Murphy stands at a podium in the center of the ring with AOP standing at either side of him. Murphy announces and welcomes The Monday Night Messiah, Seth Rollins.
Rollins steps onto the stage with his hair slicked back in a man bun with his championship belt around his waist as he stops to greet the fans and shake their hands on the way down the ramp. Rollins enters the ring, hugging each member in the ring.
Rollins thanks Murphy for the kind introduction, then thanking the crowd for making him the man he is today, finishing by thanking everyone for making him the “Monday Night Messiah”. Rollins continues saying he did not come up with the title “sermon” he simply wanted to come out and talk to the fans truly.
The crowd begins to boo as Rollins continues on saying that what he has to say is, “divine”. Rollins holds up one finger in the air to hush them as he goes on, “Brothers and sisters tonight we are here to celebrate progress, the future, moving forward in my vision, in all of our vision.” The crowd continues to yell and boo.
Rollins pushes on saying phase one was finished last week. The crowd begins a “You Suck” chant as Rollins nicely asks to have them show the same respect he shows them. Rollins then says he achieved because he believed in last week’s match. “But now the work begins,” Rollins finishes through the boos.
Rollins declares that phase two of the movement will not be easy as the crowd begins chanting loudly, “You Suck!!” Rollins explains he understands the confusion of the fans, but it is time to seek out weak. They must find the flaws in the system and rehabilitate them if they can, and eradicate them if they must.
“If you stand in the path of the future…” Rollins is interrupted from finishing his sentence as the music sounds for The Viking Raiders as Erik and Ivar come rushing into the ring and attack AOP as Murphy and Rollins retreat up the ramp.
Rollins orders Murphy back into the ring to fight. The Viking take out all three of the men as Rollins watches from the top of the ramp, having a Messiah like temper tantrum. Kevin Owens comes from out of nowhere and lands a Stunner on Rollins as the crowd cheers and claps.

The OC Come To The Ring
The Only Club That Matters make their way to the ring as AJ Styles, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson head down the ramp and enter the ring. Styles grabs a microphone and declares “The Phenomenal AJ Styles is back, on RAW.”
Anderson tells Styles he is the new Mr. WrestleMania, to which Styles agrees and adds he is the greatest superstar on any roster in any era of all time. Styles continues on saying critics try to say that Styles isn’t nearly as phenomenal as he thinks he is. Styles says once he wins, he will be able to say, “Who’s next?”
Styles doesn’t care if it’s Drew McIntyre, Roman Reigns, Ricochet, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Razor Ramon, Diesel, it could be Sting with that little soul patch (he’s corrected by Gallows that it’s called a “flavor saver”), it could be the whole nWo. Styles goes on, “When I prove my dominance at Super ShowDown…”
Styles is interrupted by Ricochet’s music as he makes his way down the ramp and enters the ring. Styles says he was being nice when he mentioned Ricochet, saying he doesn’t think Ricochet will ever be champion. Ricochet says he will beat Brock Lesnar and become champion as Styles, Gallows, and Anderson begin laughing and leaning on one another.
Ricochet says he’s glad that Styles is in a good mood, because he would like to challenge Styles tonight. Anderson cuts in saying he can’t let Styles first match back be against “Little Ricky”, so Anderson accepts the match.
