WWE made a landmark announcement a couple of months ago when they acquired Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) and then promptly moved forwards with the Worlds Collide premium live event and soon thereafter there were rumors that WWE was signing some AAA wrestlers to contracts. Now it appears that another AAA talent has let slip that she is under a WWE agreement.
According to fightfulselect.com, La Hiedra has told numerous people that she “has to clear upcoming dates with WWE” which would be a clear sign that she is legally tied to the promotion. She has worked for AAA for years. Sources within WWE and AAA not commented and both sides are actually very quiet when it comes to talent that they share between both companies, however, those close to La Hiedra believe she is under a WWE deal.
The signing of La Hiedra presents an complicated situation for WWE as current star Stephanie Vaquer previously had filed a restraining order against her for harassment stemming from the serious situation involving Vaquer and her ex-boyfriend, El Cuatrero. Vaquer filed a domestic violence criminal complaint against Cuatrero, who ended up being arrested and charged. La Hiedra defended Cuatrero and then proceeded to harass Vaquer, who then filed the restraining order.
When rumors of WWE signing AAA talents (including La Hiedra) began circulating online soon after the acquisition, Vaquer posted a cryptic tweet which was later believed to be in reference to La Hiedra joining WWE.
