A mini-tournament will take place on tonight’s episode of WWE Friday Night Smackdown on the USA Network, according to pwinsiderelite.com.
The tournament will crown a new #1 contender for the WWE United States Title, currently held by Shinsuke Nakamura. The plan is to have three singles matches which would serve as the qualifying round with the winners then moving onto a triple threat match which would be the final where the winner would become the new top contender. All four matches are expected to play out tonight on Smackdown.
The matches scheduled are:
1. LA Knight vs. Santos Escobar
2. Jacob Fatu vs. Andrade
3. Carmelo Hayes vs. Braun Strowman
