The date for John Cena’s final match has already been made public as December 13’s WWE Saturday Night’s Main Evnt in Washington, D.C., however, as of this week, his opponent has not been officially announced.

Dave Meltzer of f4wonline.com is reporting that Gunther has been chosen as being Cena’s final opponent according to multiple sources within the company. He reports that an internal listing of Saturday Night’s Main Event shows Cena vs. Gunther as thus far the only match penciled in for the show.

He also added that sources have noted that the latest plan is for a tournament to be announced, possibly as early as this week by Paul “HHH” Levesque that will feature top wrestlers competing and vying to become Cena’s last opponent. Whether that happens or not, the final outcome is expected to land with Gunther being the person who either wins the tournament or is simply awarded the match.
