WWE Talent & Employees Put On Furlough Upset At Company Not Bringing Them Back When They Were Told

Some more details have surfaced regarding WWE talent and employees who were released or put on furlough as part of the massive COVID-19 cutbacks made back during “Black Wednesday” in April.

As noted before, WWE’s furloughed employees from April were originally told that they would be back at the end of July and then in August before the company informed them all that this was not going to happen.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter at F4WOnline.com, this caused significant widespread happiness among those furloughed which would number almost 250 full-time, non-wrestlers which the company reported as saving them $51.6 million.

Most of the producers who were responsible for the matches at house shows and live events assumed they were done until those shows returned with an audience but for all office staff, they expected to be back this summer.

The unhappiness primarily stems from the fact that WWE extended furloughs just seven days before their Q2 results, in which they knew they would be setting record profits.
