With NXT and AEW Dynamite both enjoying success while running contested for much of the last few weeks, it appears discussions have taken place between WWE and the USA Network to permanently move the weekly NXT show off Wednesday nights.
The WrestleVotes account notes that these talks have been ongoing for the past month or so but no decision is imminent though ratings figures over the next two weeks (with NXT running unopposed on Tuesday) is likely to play a key role in the final decision.
Fightfulselect.com reports that the discussions actually first took place two months ago with USA pitching the idea to move NXT to Tuesday – a move that WWE is actually “receptive” to and these two weeks where NXT is forced to air on Tuesday due to the NHL playoffs will be looked as sort of a trial run or pilot before a final decision is made.
Over the past month or so, discussions have transpired regarding NXT moving off Wednesday nights. No decision imminent, however, talks are ongoing. The numbers over the next 2 weeks might have some impact on this decision.
