The Young Bucks pulled off another successful invasion of a pro wrestling promotion this weekend.
Matt and Nick Jackson crashed the AAA: Rey de Reyes 2019 show with an unadvertised surprise appearance after The Lucha Bros defeated Rey Escorpion and El Texano Jr. to win the AAA Tag-Team Championships in the main event.
After the match concluded, Konnan came out and confronted the new champions. From there, the lights went out. When they came back on, The Young Bucks were in the middle of the ring and an impromptu title match between The Lucha Bros and The Young Bucks took place.
It was a short match that saw The Young Bucks pick up the victory with a Meltzer Driver on Pentagon Jr. after laying out Fenix outside the ring with an Indytaker. With the win, The Young Bucks became the new AAA Tag-Team Champions.
Also at the AAA: Rey de Reyes 2019 show, which took place on Saturday, March 16th at the Acrópolis Puebla venue in Puebla, Mexico, Cody Rhodes appeared and was interviewed by Hugo Saninovich. He confirmed the working relationship between All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and Lucha Libre AAA and mentioned wanting to bring in names like Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega to AAA.
This led to Konnan, Taurus, Rey Escorpion and El Texano Jr. coming out to confront the AEW Executive Vice President. This turned into a brawl with several other wrestlers hitting the ring to make the save.
