The Young Bucks Talk To Justin Barrasso Of Sports Illustrated (May 2019)

Young Bucks On WWE Pulling Undertaker From Starrcast, AEW vs. WWE TV War

Ahead of the promotional debut pay-per-view on Saturday night, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) Executive Vice Presidents (EVP’s) The Young Bucks — Matt and Nick Jackson — spoke with Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso to promote the big DOUBLE OR NOTHING 2019 show.

During the interview, the AAA Tag-Team Champions were asked about WWE legend The Undertaker being pulled from Starrcast II in Las Vegas, Nevada this weekend, the site of their DOUBLE OR NOTHING 2019 PPV at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

“I was actually very sad to see him taken off,” said Nick Jackson about the WWE legend being forced out of his advertised appearance. “Fans would’ve loved to meet him in Vegas.”

The popular AEW duo also spoke about a potential “Tuesday Night War” of sorts between WWE and AEW when the former moves to FOX and the latter debuts on TNT in October.

“I didn’t know any other wrestling organization was planning on airing opposite of us until this interview,” Matt said in response to the possibility of WWE airing a show (not SmackDown Live) against the AEW on TNT show on Tuesday nights. “So, that’s news to me!”

“I love it,” said Nick about about the news. “That’s exactly what wrestling needs right now, competition. They’ve been so comfortable for the last two decades that they need something like this. This only helps the whole landscape of wrestling.”
