Yesterday, WWE announced details for Royal Rumble travel packages next year and one notable omission was the a TakeOver show, which has been staple at the major WWE PPVs for a while now.
Instead, TakeOver has been replaced with a Worlds Collide event (rumored to feature NXT, NXT UK and 205 Live superstars) with WWE noting that TakeOver is still very much in their plans and that more details on the NXT schedule would be released at a later date.
According to F4WOnline.com, the changes don't stop there for WWE as they are also planning on eliminating having a "Royal Rumble weekend" which in the past was a four-night run in one city with TakeOver on Saturday, Royal Rumble on Sunday, Raw on Monday and Smackdown on Tuesday.
Instead for this coming January PPV, Smackdown on Friday will be held in Dallas,Worlds Collide at the Toyota Center also in Houston, Royal Rumble will be held in Minute Maid Park in Houston and Raw will wrap up the week in San Antonio.
