Some more details have surfaced regarding All Elite Wrestling using the formerly WWE-trademarked “Bash At The Beach” name for their upcoming AEW Dynamite television taping in Miami, Florida.
With AEW promoting their 1/15 TV tapings in Miami as “Bash at the Beach”, it’s apparent that WWE did not renew the rights to that name.
Following the purchase of WCW — which includes all of its’ trademarks and intellectual property — WWE did own the name, however apparently not any longer.
According to Dave Meltzer in this week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter at F4WOnline.com, WWE never used the name and simply let the trademark expire.
As a result, AEW ended up grabbing it instead.
