The black-and-gold brand has lost another one, as a member of the NXT roster was officially announced as part of the WWE main roster in a segment that took place after the cameras stopped rolling for Wednesday night’s post-NXT TakeOver: WarGames edition of NXT On USA.
After last night’s episode of NXT On USA, former NXT World Champion Tommaso Ciampa announced to the Full Sail crowd that referee Jessika Carr had been promoted to the main roster as part of the WWE Friday Night SmackDown brand, and will no longer be working events for the black-and-yellow brand.
Ciampa would start a “Thank you, Jess!” chant, with company-head Paul “Triple H” Levesque coming out to give Carr a round-of-applause.
Carr would later take to Twitter and write, “Surreal. Incredible. Thankful. My family. My heart! Thank you.”
