Cesaro set the Motorpoint Arena on fire with his trademark “Cesaro Swing” at the NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff live special this weekend.
“The Swiss Cyborg” announced prior to the start of the special event, which streamed live via the WWE Network on Saturday afternoon from Cardiff, Wales, that he would be issuing an “Open Challenge” at the show.
And that’s exactly what he did.
After the opening contest which saw Noam Dar pick up a victory over Travis Banks, Cesaro was featured in a live backstage interview segment regarding his “Open Challenge” issued prior to the show.
Before he could say much, however, Ilja Dragunov would approach him and cut him off, before walking past him and heading out to the ring to accept his challenge.
Cesaro would follow soon after and the match would officially get underway.
Near the end of the bout, which the WWE main roster star won via pin fall after hitting Dragunov with The Neutralizer finisher for the 1-2-3, “The Swiss Cyborg” executed his trademark “Cesaro Swing” spot.
The spot saw Cesaro swing Dragunov around in a circle for 40-complete rotations, which the NXT UK Universe in attendance inside the Motorpoint Arena counted one-by-one.
Following the show, Cesaro spoke with WWE.com for an exclusive backstage interview to give his immediate reaction to the match, his 40-swings and his thoughts in general on Ilja Dragunov.
