Recent WWE/Saudi Arabia Changes Could Lead To SmackDown Live All-Women Special

The date for the next WWE live event in Saudi Arabia has been changed again, and as a result, there could be some unique fallout in the form of an all-women's special episode of WWE SmackDown Live.

The next WWE show in Saudi Arabia is now back to its original date of November 1, reports Dave Meltzer in the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

After the Saudi government initially wanted the show on a different day, WWE took steps to accommodate that by changing and cancelling a number of dates on their European tour later that month.

Additionally, they re-arranged the TV schedule by holding a double RAW/SmackDown Live taping on the same Friday night a week later.

With the Saudi show now back to the original 11/1 date, there is the issue of having a pay-per-view on a Friday afternoon and then a few hours later a SmackDown Live show.

There could still be a movement to have SmackDown Live be taped on Monday after RAW or on the empty Tuesday, and yet another alternative is to air SmackDown Live on Friday but promote it as an all-women’s show.

With there still being a few months before all of this plays out, it seems WWE isn’t even actively discussing their options as it pertains to this particular issue just yet, especially considering the other significant issues and projects that are currently on the agenda.
