Little Richard Dies At Age 87

One of the founding fathers of rock and roll, Little Richard, passed away at age 87 on Saturday, May 9.

The self-proclaimed architect of rock, known best for his songs "Tutti Frutti" and "Good Golly Miss Molly," among a host of others, suffered a heart attack back in 2013, however he bounced back and had been in good health until recently falling ill.

According to Charles Glenn, the longtime bass guitarist for Little Richard (real name Richard Wayne Penniman), the music icon had been sick for the past couple of months before he ultimately died at his home in Tennessee, surrounded by his brother, sister and son.

Wrestling fans may best remember Little Richard performing "America The Beautiful" at WrestleMania X in Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York back on March 20, 1994.

We at eWrestling.com would like to extend our condolences to the family and friends of the music legend.

Rest in peace to "Little" Richard Wayne Penniman.
