It’s been 34 long years since the first official “Heyman Hustle.”
WWE acknowledged the 34-year anniversary of the day ECW founder and current WWE RAW Executive Director Paul Heyman promoted his first pro wrestling / sports entertainment show on their official Twitter feed on Friday evening.
Last night marked 34-years to the day that a young, ambitious Heyman promoted his very first event at legendary Studio 54 in New York City that featured “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair, “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, Magnum TA and Bam-Bam Bigelow.
“34 years ago TONIGHT [Paul Heyman] promoted his first pro wrestling / sports entertainment event at NYC’s legendary Studio 54 featuring [Ric Flair], Dusty Rhodes, Magnum TA and Bam Bam Bigelow,” wrote WWE on their official Twitter feed on Friday evening.
The tweet, which Heyman would go on to re-tweet, includes photos of the actual promotional posters and flyers used to advertise the show held back on August 23, 1985, as well as a very rare picture of a young Paul Heyman giving an in-his-prime Ric Flair an award at the event.
